Dear colleagues, regarding Alma interface, it would be highly useful that the option EDIT ITEM had a 1-step shortcut.
Dear colleagues, regarding Alma interface, it would be highly useful that the option EDIT ITEM had a 1-step shortcut. It is pretty annoying to continuously click 3 times to open de item in order to work on it. Thank you for your attention.

Enable the ability to associate vendors
Similar to associating POLs, it could be useful if it were possible to associate/link vendors to each other. It would enable organizing individual vendors (mostly access providers) under broader vendors (billing agents, IP Registry, etc) and consortia.

Add column options to 'Receive New Material' / receiving dashboard
Add more column options to the 'Receive New Material' page / receiving dashboard: expected receipt date and vendor name. Others have previously suggested brief level and item policy.

Make Order Status field available in the Interested In Letter XSL
We would like additional Purchase Order fields added to the XSL available for the ‘Interested In Letter’ please, specifically the Order Status field. This will enable us to use conditional statements in the letter template so that certain blocks of text can be included or hidden depending on a given field. We take that approach already with other Alma letters. For example, in the ‘On Hold Shelf Letter’ template, we use <xsl:if> statements to draw on the Pickup Location available in the XSL and display different guidance to recipients depending on the location from which they are collecting a request.

Readability of the Predicted items menu for daily and weekly serials
When predicted items are generated for the current year, daily and weekly serials get several pages of items.
It is then very difficult to find in the list the latest issue to receive. It would be helpful to have some options, for example only display the 5 or 10 latest items.5 votes -
Make the labels feature in ILL/Resource sharing a preconfigured list that staff have to choose from.
We suggest an enhancement to the Labels feature within Resource Sharing/ILLs area of Alma, so that staff have to select labels from a preconfigured list/dropdown menu? At present, it is a free text field, that creates a new label any time it is entered in a slightly different format or spelling. This makes it hard to keep the labels tidy as variations and spelling errors can occur and makes stats collection more difficult.

Add link to requester's account when item returned
When an item is returned with a request on it, a pop up shows with information about the requester. Our staff would find it useful if this was a link to the user account. They often need to check information on the account, particularly for our library laptops, so this would save them rekeying the information.

Show letter category in Letters Config
In the documentation on Letters, the table includes a column for Category, which shows whether a letter is for Acquisition, Fulfillment, Digital, etc. (https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Product_Documentation/010Alma_Online_Help_(English)/050Administration/050Configuring_General_Alma_Functions/070Configuring_Alma_Letters)
However, when you are actually in Letters Configuration, the table does NOT include Category, so there is no simple way to filter to see JUST the Acquisitions letters, or JUST the Fulfillment letters. It's also not a column that can be added to the view by clicking the gear icon.
It would be SUPER helpful to add the Category to the Letters Configuration table.

License Section Names - Customizing Capabilities and Upgraded Reordering
I'm bringing back an idea that was posted years ago because I really think it's important.
Many of us would REALLY like to have the ability to create our own Section Names. If it's possible for us to create our own license terms, then I don't see any reason why we shouldn't have the ability to personalize Section Names.
As the original idea stated, the existing section names don't always match well with our agreements and there are some clauses that don't fit under the current sections. The lack of ability to create our own license sections can really make…5 votes -
Add call number to General information box
In the new UI, when searching for a title, the results do not display the call number in either the holdings summary on the left, or the general Information box on the right. yes, it's only a click away in the 'Holdings' option, but when you're doing a task involving a lit of, say, 200 items, that's 200 extra clicks.
the General information box already shows Material Type, ISBN, Edition, Brief level 10, and a whole lot of other things, so why not the call number?5 votes -
Remove library and locations from Analytics created in test period
During migration to Alma we found that there were some incorrect data in holdings records for libraries and locations. This was useful because those data were not exposed to metadata managers in our previous system. Prior to migration, these incorrect libraries and locations were removed from our data in the previous system.
Now I find that those incorrect libraries and locations remain in Analytics. In order to filter these incorrect data out, one needs to remember to filter them out. This is not a long-term tenable solution as fewer and fewer staff members recall the specifics of the data cleanup…

Filtering a report based on a user set
Right now if you want to filter a report on a user set...
- Run a search in Alma and save to a set
- Export the list, using Excel.
- Manipulate the needed field (e.g. of barcodes), to be stored in one row, with semicolon separating them (e.g. 365704-340;365704-350).
- Copy this list as a row to be used as a filter in Analytics
I would like Alma smart enough, when I click on filter to simply supply the user set I created.

Overlap Analysis reports
These reports would and should utilize and contain within them subject headings and subject areas. It seems like it would be a very useful functionality for staff to make use of subject headings for comparison to other vendors' reports who use subject headings/terms while doing an overlap analysis. When trying to compare CZ electronic collections to our IZ collections, it would be good to know which subject coverage area and date range each matched portfolio has.

create a new item status for items "lost on shelves"
Currently items can be marked as Missing (if not found in the Library), or Lost (if long overdue on user's account). Missing books are regularly checked on, but some of them cannot be tracked within a reasonable time for users, and the search becomes more of an in-house task than fulfilment of an immediate customer need.
However, it is not possible to distinguish between items marked missing relatively recently and still actively searched for (e.g. because we could not find them immediately when requested by users), and those which were not found after several checks, for a long time, even…5 votes -
Item Policy Code Table issues
After adding an Alma Item policy in the Configuration->Fulfillment->Physical Fulfillment->Item Policy, the Item Policy Code Table allows you to edit the Code. Existing items records linked to the item policy code are not updated in such an edit. Such items retain the now “orphaned” original item policy code as can be queried in analytics.
To compound this, leading and trailing spaces within an item policy code are considered significant, so an edit to remove a trailing space leaves (invisible to the user) distinct item policies, one of which is broken.
We propose the following three changes:
1.) The Item Policy…

Shipping Cost Lender Rules - Partner Organization Type
It would be great if ‘Partner Organization Type’ could be added as a parameter in the ‘Shipping Cost – Lender Rules.’ This would allow us to set the Partner Organization Type for new partners instead of having to select each new partner individually.

Check box option to disable Alma from appending file names in publishing profiles
We publish files to many third party vendors. Some vendor systems must have their files named with a certain convention and CANNOT process them if that filename convention is altered in any way.
Alma publishing profiles are current configured to append "_new" to the end of files it publishes, even if you specify a file name already. We would like the option to either enable or disable each publishing profile from appending the filenames it sends. They can be enabled by default, or not, but the option would be helpful.
Use case: We are publishing files of electronic holdings to…

Invoice templates
Allow a template so if I'm invoicing dozens of orders in a row for one vendor I don't need to go through a bunch of drop down menus every time- Just one vendor, default account, same invoice date, pre-paid, with a credit card, etc.

Configurable hard coded date for request expiry
We've struggled with users not understanding the purpose of the 'Not needed after' date field in the various request forms linked to Primo VE. This often means we received requests with supplied 'Not needed after' dates of a few days later meaning they're cancelled before even being in transit or picked, particularly on unstaffed weekends. Relabelling the field hasn't helped matters due to users not paying attention to it and thinking it's a 'needed/collect on' mandatory date.
If possible we would like the ability to set a hard coded expiry range for non-processed requests. For example, if a recall request…

Customize search indexes for any Holdings field and subfield
The current Holdings indexes skip several valid fields, such as the 347 and 562 fields. The ability to index these fields (especially the 562 field) would help find records with local information that is only recorded in the holdings record.
Additionally, the ability to index any field and subfield combination would allow libraries to use custom subfields within a valid, relevant field (e.g., a 541$g for a non-public Gift Of note).
