  1. Troubleshooting/business intelligence: Make authentication method field useful (searchable in Alma, reportable in Analytics, customizable)

    We need business intelligence about the big picture of which authentication method we use for each eresource.

    There is an "Implemented Authorization Method" field in the vendor interface record but this data is only available by drilling down into the vendor record, and to those users with appropriate permissions. It's essentially invisible; there is no way to expose this data: it's not a searchable field in Alma, it's not a queryable field in Analytics, and it's not available through the APIs. The values are also not customizable but do not encompass the real life categories we need.

  2. Lending requests - requests shipped as physical non-returnable should automatically get status Request Completed

    Now when there is an lending request in Alma and we choose the option "Ship non-returnable" then such request gets a status "Shipped physically". We suggest that such request should automatically get status "Request Completed" because it was shipped and such request is completed according to our workflow.

  3. A new design for the homepage of ALMA

    It would be really lovely if the homepage to ALMA was colourful and bright with easy access to the major functions we use in the library. For example there could be a homepage that has different bubbles (5 in a circle with one in the middle for example) and people can drag and drop their 6 most used icons. For library assistants this would be super useful if we could open ALMA and instantly be able to issue / return books / search for a service users name / card number for easy access.   4. Mail Handling Integration - In September 2025 Microsoft Exchange Online to retire Basic auth for Client Submission (SMTP AUTH)

    Are there plans for supporting more modern authentication methods (e.g., oauth2)?

    I imagine that there are quite a few customers that use Microsoft Exchange (office365) as a relay and will be affected by the retirement of basic auth for Client submission. What, if any, are your plans for handling this?

  6. Add letter resend to Privileges Report so that it can be added to other roles and removed from Fulfillment Admin

    Issue - Currently we need to give staff in reader services the Fulfillment Administrator role so that they can resend emails on users accounts. This role is too significant and gives reader services staff access to change loan rules and other processes.
    Solution - Could Letter Resend be added to the Privileges Report so that it can be added to more appropriate roles (User Admin or User Manager). And it could then be removed from Fulfillment Administrator role.

  7. Allow groups of partners to be selected in rules tables by rota template or other attributes

    We are a large university, with many resource sharing partners. We would like to set up rules concerning certain groups of partners, e.g. we charge more for sending physical items internationally due to the cost of postage, and want to set up Shipping Cost rules to reflect that. Unfortunately, it seems like the only way to do so is to select "partner" as a parameter and select each partner individually.

  8. E-Resource Activation Task List trigger

    When closing a subscription PO line, associated e-resources are automatically added to the E-Resource Activation Task List to determine whether they need to be deactivated. It would be more useful if this were based on the "subscription to" date in the PO line, rather than happening when the PO line is closed. We often close a subscription order several months before the subscription officially ends, and we don't want to deactivate the portfolio until that end date. But we also don't want to keep them in the task list for months while we want for that subscription end date. The…

  9. Add Close Note to the Change PO Lines Status job

    We would like to add a Close Note when running the Change PO Lines Status to Close orders. Currently we can add a Cancellation Note but if we CLOSE a batch of orders (essentially cancelling continuation orders that have had receipts), there is no way to add a general note that populates all order lines. We have to manually add a note to each order.

    Allow us to customize the color of Resource Sharing labels, especially the Assigned To label. Having the Assigned To label a different color would make it stand out, make it easier to find, and let others know that they can move on.

  12. Add filters and columns to import profiles screens for zone, protocol, scheduling, status

    The Import Profiles screen has few options for narrowing the list of profiles if one isn't certain of the profile name, or if descriptions are too similar. Please add filters and columns to the display screen--preferably sortable columns--for fields that distinguish the zone, scheduling, and status for import profiles.

    Priority 1, Zone: Users should be able to clearly see whether an import profile is using the network zone or the institution zone for an import profile, as this affects the workflow and processing of records being imported.

  13. In House Use Function

    There needs to be a separate function for 'In-House Use'. Scan-ins for activating Holds and the Return function are being too easily conflated in our In house use statistics. For example we have Kiosks that periodically scan all of the books inside the kiosk and each time it detects an RFID tag it scans in the item which then registers it as an in-house use. Also, staff may scan in an item that they are unsure about which registers it as an In House use. All of this renders In-house use statistics unreliable. The only remedy for this is a…

  14. 'Manage purchase request' page report to include fields like ISBN

    The ‘course instructor’s name’ and the ‘course name’ fields are not there in the ‘create purchase request’. So, we write the course instructor’s name under the Requestor tab and Librarian's name who has inputted the request on Requester Note. If there were separate fields we could have searched by the name of the Librarian also as we cannot filter by requester note.

  16. Advances search für PO Lines - searching for "empty" categories

    In the advanced search for catalog data, it is also possible to search for content that is "not" included ("not contains...", "is empty", etc.).

    This is not possible in the advanced search for order lines, but in my opinion it would be useful to search for incorrect entries.

  17. Allow us to create duplicate borrowing requests via the Users API

    The SUNY system has created an ILLiad addon that automatically converts ILLiad borrowing requests into either Alma borrowing requests or Alma hold requests (depending on whether the requested item is locally available). We're using the Users API to create these requests in Alma. We've figured out how to override the Alma function that blocks the creation of duplicate hold requests when necessary, but we there's no way for us to override the function that blocks the creation of duplicate borrowing requests. Please add this feature to the Users API.

  18. Add a timestamp to 'modification date' for physical items and holdings in Physical Items area.

    The timestamp and date of 'delete date' for physical items/holdings can only be found in "Manage Deleted Repository' in Alma.

    It is good to have the timestamp appeared at the field 'modification date' of physical items/holdings in Analytics. It is particularly helpful when getting records of deleted items/holdings for weeding report.

  19. Add Course Information within Purchase Request to PO Line

    It would be very helpful if the details within the 'course information' section of a purchase request fed through to the POL and was visible within the 'Notes' tab of the POL. This would enable staff dealing with the orders to have all the required information in one place and would also make the audit trail more robust.

  20. Add clarifying language to the Delete Holdings records with no Physical Items job

    Adjust the wording on the “Delete Holdings records with no Physical items” job to match wording from the “Withdrawn Physical items” job. Change “Delete bibliographic records” to “Delete bibliographic records that have no other holdings” AND "Suppress bibliographic records” to “Suppress bibliographic records that have no other holdings from publishing”. This would add needed clarity to what is happening when running the "Delete Holdings records with no Physical items" job.
