  1. Please add Description field to all three tabs in Patron Services page: Loan tab, Return tab, and Request tab

    Currently, there is no Description field in Patron Services page. Library staffs are not able to immediately recognize which issue, volume, or number is loaned, returned, or requested by a patron at a glance in three tabs at this page.

    When circulation desk staff help patron to check or see their loans in Loan tab, Description field is not visible.
    Or, if a patron requests different issues under the same title at a time, when he/she comes to circulation desk and wants to pick up his/her requested items, library staff will need to spend more steps to check the Description…

  2. Check past requests

    When a request is cancelled or completed, there is no possibility to retrieve any information about the past request. If something went wrong, it is impossible to trace the patron or destination of the request.

  3. More information on Process Type Transit

    In 'Item history', you can see when an item was checked in and out of transit, but not for whom or whereto. If something goes wrong with the transit, you can't get any information about the inactive/completed request.

  4. Ability to delete/remove redundant copyright records from the Approval Requests list

    We would like the ability to delete/withdraw or otherwise remove pending copyright approval requests in the Approval Requests list.
    There are a few reasons why a Library may wish to do this:
    -Associated citation has since been deleted
    -Patron digitization request has been cancelled
    -Citations with copyright records that require manual approval were added to the Approval Requests List as part of the rollover. However, some of these units will not be using Leganto and will never submit a reading list.

  5. AFN Fulfillment Network, Add patron's home institution to the fields available on the hold shelf's display

    When an Automated Fulfillment network allows for their patrons to pick up materials at any Institution in the AFN, it is possible for a patron to pick up their item at a third institution, that is neither the patron's home library, nor the item's home library.

    With how Alma currently manages Linked Users, and with the fields available for display on the Active and Expired hold shelf screens, library staff at that third (pick-up only) institution are unable to determine which institution the patron is from.

  6. Create formatting for easily readable printing/PDF of Reading Lists and Pick from shelf lists

    Our reserves team would greatly benefit from having a printable or downloadable PDF option of a full reading list. Currently, you can export the list to an excel sheet, but this is not easily readable or convenient for printing/otherwise storing data from past semester's requests. Additionally, it would be excellent if a similar option were available in Pick from Shelf. To pull items now, we need a printed sheet for each book, which is wasteful and redundant.   7. Daytime options for automated Alma notice jobs which involve patron notifications

    We recently had a call from a distressed parent who had been woken by a late night notification due to an Alma notice being sent to them.

    Whilst appreciating that jobs are scheduled later to catch lower utilization of the system, would it be possible to have some options for all jobs which feature patron-facing notifications to be run between 9.00am and 9.00pm e.g. Courtesy Notices and Handle Loan Renewals job.

  8. Time to reshelve not applicable if there is a request

    After testing the Time to reshelve, we found that if an item is requested, the delay for reshelve is not applicable.
    It make sense in a way that the on hold shelf is not really a reshelve, but we would like to take into account the delay for reshelve for requested items too. In case of quarantaine.

  9. Enable customer-defined order of locations in the Get It menu

    Currently, the locations in the Alma resolver (Get It menu) are not sorted in a consistent, meaningful manner. There is a "use IP best locations ordering" option, but this option is insufficient for many institutions. For instance, in many cases, users are off site or not in a library building, and many institutions do not reserve IP addresses for specific buildings. There is also an alphabetical option but often the size or significance of locations doesn't fit well into an alphabetical listing (for example a small branch starting with A or B might sort ahead of a large Central Library).

  10. Cancellation Reason Customization

    It would be very helpful to be able to customize the Cancellation Reasons with a code table of some kind. Especially since the Cancellation Letter appears to pull directly from the Cancellation Reasons drop-down, being able to customize the cancellations would give flexibility in the wording of the letter and encompass any further changes to Cancellation Reasons in the future.

  11. Delay for hold notification - up to 5 digits

    Even if a library is closed to the public, the staff are working.

    When they scan a returned loan, a notification is sent but the patron cannot retrieve his document due to the closed library.
    It would be beneficial for us to be able to delay the notification for a week.
    We would like to get up to 5 digits the delay for hold notification. Currently, it's 3 digits max, 999 minutes (16 hours).

  12. Return the borrower's name to the top of the screen

    Please return the patron/borrower's name to the top of the loans screen. Having it on the right side in the new layout, makes the screen harder to read - and it is much easier to lend items to the wrong person.

  13. Customize the position of the Patron information on the Patron services page

    In the new Alma UI, the position of the Patron information on the Patron services page is on top or at the right of the page, depending on your screen resolution.
    Our staff works with width screens, causing the Patron information to show on the right of the page.
    We would like to have this information always on top of the page: currently we can't customize this.

  14. Remove the gender field

    Entirely remove the gender field (from staff-facing patron data form) or allow us to grey it out so it is not collected. There is no need to collect gender information about library patrons. This is a matter of equity and inclusion.

  15. Include Barcode in Reading List Search Results

    If a user performs a search in Fulfilment > Course Reserves > Reading List > All tab for a course, book titles are listed, and the record shows there are 2 Physical copies. Clicking to see the 2 copies, the barcode number is not displayed.

    By contrast, searching Physical Items, barcode is clearly visible on the results screen by default.

    It would be very, very helpful to have the barcode displayed, in order to distinguish items more clearly. For example, the barcode column could replace the “Accession Number” field that is displayed, or it could be added as a custom…

  16. Hide Leganto-specific features from Course Reserves when institution has not implemented Leganto

    There is a very large number of links, buttons, and options in the Course Reserves area of Alma that only function if Leganto has been implemented. This severely complicates rollout of course reserves and is an ongoing annoyance. Perhaps Leganto-specific user roles could be added, and if a user does not have those roles, then the features would not appear.

  17. Add Claims Returned items to Task List

    Monitoring Claims Returned and Missing items requires analytics. There should be a way to see the current items with a claims or missing status so staff can actively search for the items. Having the items on a task list would be ideal. Searching for claims items is a standard task for fulfilment.

  18. Clear Process Type (Transit) of all Items in Set with Job

    Often books get skipped during scanning-in and are reshelved while still having a process type of "Transit." This leads to hundreds of materials over time in the stacks showing as not in place. A set with only these items can be created, but a bulk clearing of this field isn't yet possible.
    Any of these would work:
    1. create a job that clears the Process Type (specifically books marked Transit that have already been reshelved but were skipped during the regular scan-in process)
    2. scan-in all items in a created set
    3. scan-in multiple barcodes at once (separated by ;…

  19. Include Library Name in Item Available Notice Subject Line

    Allow for the option to include the name of the library sending an available notice, "Main Library Available Notice" or "Art Library Available Notice" for example. Would be applicable to any notice where items referenced are from a single library.

  20. Anonymize loans for a single patron and allow him to do it himself from his account

    We need to have an option in the patron services page to allow our staff to anonymize a patron’s inactive loans, if he ask to. We would like also that the patron could do it himself from his Primo account. This option should exist at the institution zone level and every institution could choose if activate it or not.
    The Alma anonymization job allow us to set a retention period for a specific set of libraries or user groups to anonymize inactive loans.
