Apply different Physical Item Sort Routines to different material types
It would be useful to to apply a different sort routine to different item formats. So for example, we'd prefer books to sort by description ascending, but journals to sort by description descending.

Make it easier to create sets of courses
The only way to create a set of courses is to get the course IDs from analytics.
This is a problem for Sandbox where we have no access to analytics - especially for those of us with generic data.
eg...
1. Include the course ID when downloading a list of courses to Excel with All Fields selected (and make the course ID an option to view in the table.
2. Enable save and create set when viewing a list of courses
3. Enable course code to be used when creating a setThis would be very helpful now that we can archive courses (2022) with a bulk update.

Add general note(s) field from the Electronic Collection Editor to Analytics
Currently, only the public and authentication notes seem to be available. It would be useful to have a way to find and report on those collections that have general notes added.

Add a new Bibliographic ID field for OCLC Control Number 035z to display each OCN one row per MMS ID
Currently, a user may retrieve a delimited list of cancelled OCLC control numbers from the OCLC Control Number (035z) attribute under Bibliographic Details. However, this field has limited usefulness for a couple reasons. First, the field has a limit of 256 characters, which means when a bibliographic record shows more than 15 or 16 OCLC numbers have been merged, some numbers are excluded. Second, and more importantly, each individual control number cannot be matched to other cancelled or active control numbers in other records without being split to a separate field first. This is not a straightforward task in analytics to find and match duplicate record numbers.
It would improve retrieval if there were new field that related each 035z entry to an MMS ID, such that each entry could be retrieved as a separate row in analytics results, and also could be matched as a single identifier to other 035z and 035a data. This field should be similar to the "OCLC Control Number single (035a)" attribute under the Bibliographic IDs dimension.

Add option to close library for borrowing or lending requests based on format of request
A library can close for borrowing or lending requests and include dates when the library can't process borrowing or lending requests. It would be helpful and provide more efficient processing of borrowing and lending requests if requests could be deflected by format.
As a borrowing library, there are times when a patron's article requests could be processed and sent to a lending library, but a physical request can't be processed.
Borrowing physical requests may not be possible because the physical library building is closed, and the item can't be delivered to the location.
It would be helpful to have the addition of format, physical and digital, to "Temporarily Inactive for borrowing" with an "Inactive dates range" for physical format and an "Inactive dates range" for digital format. This allows patrons to continue to enter requests for formats that can be filled.
As a lending library, there are times when a library can supply physical items but not be able to process digital requests. This may because of staff expertise in handling digital requests.
It would be helpful to have the addition of format, physical and digital, to "Temporary Inactive for lending" with an "Inactive dates range for physical format and an "Inactive dates range" for digital format. The ability to deflect lending requests for formats the library can't fill quickly provides better service to the borrowing library.

Warn before regenerating the SFTP Service private key
There is a «Regenerate private key» button under Alma configuration » General » S/FTP definitions.
This button is too efficient. This idea is to make the button a little less efficient, but in doing so make it safer.
Clicking the «Regenerate private key» button immediately regenerates the private key for the Ex Libris Secure FTP Service. In the process it invalidates any previously generated private key and breaks all integrations with the SFTP Service. More so, the button in Alma (Premium) Sandbox does the same as in Alma Production, including breaking all production integrations.
All it can take is one slip of a mouse click on this Alma page.
Library staff and Ex Libris support staff both have fallen into the trap of regenerating the private key on sandbox without knowing that doing so breaks production.
The idea is to:
1. Show a warning dialog after clicking the regenerate private key that emphasises that continuing will: a) stop any previously generated private key from working; and b) affects both Alma Production and Alma Sandbox.
2. Show a second «Regenerate private key» button, along with a «Cancel» button. It is important that regenerating the private key becomes a deliberate two-step process to avoid accidently regenerating the private key.

Alma Analytics: add area for links to CZ authorities within Alma Analytics Subject Areas
Add area for links to CZ authorities within Alma Analytics Subject Areas. In Alma author headings are linked to authorities (GND) via the authority ID (035$a) stored in the $0 subfield of fields 1xx and 7xx. In this case binocular appear next to fields 1xx and 7xx in the MDE. We have noticed that in some cases the number in subfield $0 is false and the binoculars do not display. We would like to report on author headings that have a $0 subfield in the 1xx/7xx but are not linked to an authority.

Improving Ability to Create Repeating Courses for Multiple Semesters
Currently there is no ability to have two courses in different semesters with the same course code and section number in Reserves. Our college reuses course codes and section numbers between semesters, so we are unable to build new courses with the same course code/section number combination before the current semester ends.
I would like to add additional identifying fields to the current code/section unique identifier. Possibilities include unique terms (Fall 2022) or a term/year combination (Fall + 22-23).

Customizable fields for Electronic Collections
We would like to be able to introduce custom, local fields into our Electronic Collections to help us manage workflows, reporting, and inventory management. Currently, we store a lot of information in our Internal Descriptions to help with this work. It would be great to have dedicated, customizable fields that can be defined for local uses. Ideally, the management of these fields would look like the license term management, with options for free text, controlled vocabularies, and yes/no fields. If that is too complicated, then just making a handful of "local fields" available would also be helpful ("local field #1", "local field #2", etc.).

Saving Queries on the Community Zone
Please, let us save queries on the Community Zone as a logical set.
It is well understood that no one but Ex Libris is supposed to be able to run jobs on the CZ data and most likely that is why you currently cannot save a query on the Community Zone as a set. However, saving queries can often serve as just a shortcut for submitting a (more complex) query again and again, and for electronic resource librarians it is interesting to check the CZ regularly for newly added collections which are freely available, e.g., or adhere to any other special criteria that Ex Libris Content Operations does not offer an extra category for in their Release Notes.

Ability to hide/compress inventory list in POL
For POLs that have extensive lists of electronic inventory (i.e., many electronic collections are associated with one POL), have capability to hide or compress that inventory list in the POL, and then show/expand as needed. Otherwise, we need to scroll down past a long list to get to other sections of the POL for both View and Edit. Example is our POL for JOVE, which is linked to 54 collections. CDL has similar examples for consortial content managed in the UC NZ.

Add Description field to Physical Item Lending Policies in Resource Sharing Directory
We have several different resource sharing lending policies within our country, which depend on the particular reciprocal borrowing agreement we have with our partner libraries. It would be nice to automate this somehow in the future, but, for now, could we have a Description field on the Physical Item Lending Policies form?

Add task list- item request be rejected or be cancelled and become to "transit"
found that when the request(any request) is rejected in any way (by patron or librarian) the item's next step is "Transit", but there do not have task or list to let the librarian know.
it will cause these items stuck in "Transit" until someday we need them.
If we can add the task list to let the librarian know which item we should handle it should be better.

configuration exeptions in opening hours
I wanted to update the opening hours in the psb for the next year. Some Holidays like the first of january, the first of may or the third of october, the library is closed every year.
I realized, that I can’t add a „recurrence“ for these days with the record type „exception“. If I add a new record and choose the record type „event“ I can add a „recurrence“ but the status will be „open“. I can’t change the status to „closed“
It would be nice if the record of these Holidays could have the „recurrence“ „yearly“ and the „status“ „closed“.I wanted to update the opening hours in the psb for the next year. Some Holidays like the first of january, the first of may or the third of october, the library is closed every year.

Titles ending in question mark issue with EDI invoices
There is a known Alma issue with EDI files for titles that have ending question marks, i.e. "What's So Controversial About Genetically Modified Food?" The invoice line loads with quantity of zero for such titles. This prevents the POL from moving to "closed". It would be great if this can be resolved, but I understand that the "he core of this functionality relies upon another system (Aleph) and currently Exlibris does not have a schedule fix for that. But putting it on the idea exchange to make sure we remember this is an issue.
