  1. Add "Delete or replace URL's SUFFIX" to Job "Change Electronic portfolio information"

Sometimes it is necassary to change or delete the URL in portfolio information for a set of portfolios. It is possible to delete or replace URL's prefix in Electronic Portfolio information, but it is not yet possible to delete or repclace url's suffix .
For us it would be very useful to have both opportunities.

  2. Autoload collections – Better identification

Autoload collections are not always clearly identified in Alma. The default name of the collection does not always mention this information and there is no specific tag which can be searched or displayed in the CZ releases reports. This can be the source of useless changes by EIO or creation of cases.
We do not want to add terms like ‘AutoHoldings’ or ‘Autoload’ in the public name of the collection as this is not an useful information for end-users on Primo.

It would thus be very useful to tag these collections with the mention ”Autoload” in the Alma collection search…

  3. Allow Alma users to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool to link portfolios to a community zone collection.

The ‘Link to Community’ match routine for matching local portfolios to the CZ is too restrictive. We would like to be able to use our local bibliographic records and have them link to portfolios in the CZ, however, the match rate is dependent on what metadata is available in the CZ records, which are often brief and do not contain the ISSN/ISBN match point that Ex Libris has selected for that collection in the CZ.
Alma users should be able to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool, similar to how we can choose the match…

  4. Display collection "Public Name" instead of "Public name (override)" in Import Profile Details

We repeat the use of "Public name (override)" to aggregate several local collections under the same heading in our discovery layer. In the example I am dealing with, we use "Project Muse eBooks", but have separate collections for each year of titles. The import profile that we use to load these titles displays the override name, which means that I am unable to tell which collection we are loading into without editing the profile and selecting a collection anew.

I would love it if we could use the "Public Name" of the collection in Inventory Information tab of the import…

  5. Alma overlap analysis tool to include different identifiers in one comparison

We would find it useful if the overlap analysis tool compare a list that includes different identifiers. i.e. ISSN, EISSN, ISBN, EISBN, TITLE in one comparison.
Currently it only allows you to compare overlap within just one identifier. This is very important with collections from vendors that include different kinds of material.
Being able to conduct this kind of overlap analysis is important for us in terms of making purchasing decisions and we feel that including this kind of feature in the overlap analysis tool would make this a more efficient process within Alma.

    Dear community,

Thank you for the idea. We suggest the following high level solution:

    1. In Resources menu > Overlap and Collection Analysis > Compare collection analysis, it will be possible to select multiple match methods, from the existing list of match methods, and the order in which they will be used

    2. The match will work as following: Try to match by method #1. If no match was found, try to match by method #2.

    3. The report will include information on the matched identifier and its value

    4. Similarly, in Resources menu > Overlap and Collection Analysis > Look Up Titles, it will be possible to upload an input file with multiple identifiers columns. The possible identifiers are the existing ones, and columns format will be the same as today. The difference is that it will be possible to place multiple identifier columns, in the order they should be used.

    Thaks,

    Tamar Fuches

    Alma team

  6. Add Available From/To dates (in General Tab) to Extended Export/Portfolio loader

The Available From/To fields in the portfolios general tab are currently not included in the portfolio extended export. Nor is it possible to populate the fields using the portfolio loader spreadsheet.
This makes it impossible to identify if these fields are populated in a portfolio without using Analytics. These fields should be included in Extended Export to make it easier to find, and should be available for the Portfolio Loader to make it easier to populate.

  7. PDA import profiles for electronic titles - limit matching to specific electronic collection

The ability to limit matching of imported MARC record against existing records with portfolios in a selected electronic collection was release for repository import profiles in the Feb 2024 release in response to a previous Ideas Exchange submission:
    https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/15312516-repository-import-profiles-for-electronic-titles

Echoing the comments added to that Ideas Exchange post following the release, it would be really helpful if the same functionality could be release for PDA import profiles too, for the same reasons originally stated.

  8. Add vendor UTB to Upload Electronic Holdings workflow

The vendor UTB has already e-collections in CZ which have dozens of activations in the EMEA region. We've already contacted the vendor, and they would be willing to implement the Upload Electronic Holdings workflow.

    Vendor name: UTB
    Website: https://www.utb.de
    Contact: Tanja Klapputh, klapputh@utb.de
    Alma Interface name: UTB GmbH

  10. Ability to Set "Current Year" Embargoes

In Alma, coverage settings for embargoes assume a "moving wall" style of embargo where new content is available every month. However, some periodicals operate on the basis of a "current year" style of embargo where coverage is fixed throughout the year, and only rolls over in January.

Currently, our only solutions to manage a "current year" embargo are to either set a shorter embargo, meaning unlicensed content would be discoverable in Primo or to set a longer embargo, meaning not all licensed content would be discoverable in Primo.

We'd like to see functionality that would allow us to set fixed…

  12. Create an electronic collection for the "Zhong hua jing dian gu ji ku"

The Zhonghua Classics Database contains the standard punctuated versions of many important Chinese classical texts in the fields of philosophy, history and literature (such as biji) as published by Zhonghua Shuju and other major publishers of punctuated editions. The database also includes the 360 volume Quan Song Wen《全宋文》set as e-books. Quan Song Wen is a collection of Chinese prose dating from the Song dynasty that was first published in 2006 by 上海辭書出版社.
In addition to browsing whole titles, this digitized version has been optimized to search simultaneously variant forms of characters (defaults can be changed in the advanced search), and…

  13. "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" for article records

We were informed by Ex Libris that the "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" CDI field does not work on articles. As this feature can already impact the discoverability of CDI records in Primo, it would be great if it could be formally developed so it behaves more predictably and less unexpectedly. When selecting "Yes" for "do not show as full text available in CDI even if active in Alma", we are still seeing CDI article records appear in Primo.

  14. Add support for importing .mrk files

At the moment Alma only supports importation of resources as .mrc files. These files are trickier to work with than .mrk and add a lot of unnecessary time to our import workflows (converting back and forth, "saving as" frequently, losing changes - especially for large imports).

  15. Add Electronic Service Information Update Job

Electronic Portfolios and Electronic Collections each have an Information Update job in Alma. Electronic services need the same functionality because they are also affected in bulk by changes.

Job Name: Change Electronic service information
Job Description: Update Electronic service information for a set of Electronic services
    Job Content Type: Electronic Service
    Job Type: Information Update

Use Case: ProQuest began requiring a value for the CLIENTID parameter in the Linking Parser Parameters section of all ProQuest electronic services. With over 50 ProQuest electronic collections activated, that meant that over 50 electronic services had to be manually edited one at a time…

  17. Sorting electronic collections by "Public name (override)"

When searching for electronic collections, results lists can currently only be sorted by collection name or by rank. It would be very useful if the list could also be sorted by "Public name (override)".

Currently, for each entry in the result list, the name from the field "Public name (override)" is displayed first, followed by the collection name - which equals the public name - in parentheses. However, the alphabetical order is determined by the public name. This results in a collection list sorted by the names which are in second place and in parantheses. This is rather confusing and…

  19. Disable the license terms from cascading down from POL to electronic collections and portfolios

The current situation is that after attaching a license to a PO Line, this license will override the license(s) originally attached to the electronic collections and the portfolios. We have 5000+ Chinese ebooks that come with a wide range of number of concurrent users. While we can update them using the 'Run a Job' function, but once the POL that is connected with the electronic collection is updated, it will override the license terms we have for the individual ebooks. So we would like to see if there is an option to delink the POLs and electronic collections from the…

  20. Record all changes to an Electronic Collection in the History tab, by user or System and the change made

All changes to be recorded in the Electronic Collection History tab, including the user account or System making the change and what was changed.

Currently there are many "System" changes only recording the Modification Date by Old Value of the previous last change and the New Value of the date of change.

But there is no information as to what was changed.

I am not going to provide examples of what should be changed and risk only those changed being done, as simply everything should be recorded. This is the purpose of a History log.

    Currently Ex Libris expects customers…
