  1. Hold active until (collection) date

    currently the time a requested book is held for a borrower does not show unless you go into the Active holds lists. It would be helpful if this was shown when the book is checked in and on the notice that automatically goes to the printer (which we put in the book until the book is collected)

  2. Improving usability of the inventory section for citations

    Currently, it’s impossible to tell how ‘Digital’ and ‘Other’ inventory may be configured in the Inventory section of a citation. The green indicator shows the inventory exists but not whether it has been used for the citation.

    Digital example:
    You can’t see whether a digital representation has been selected via the ‘Manage Digital Representations’ option or whether a representation is Active or Inactive. The green indicator stays green even if the representation is Inactive or if it hasn’t been selected via Manage Digital Representations.

    Other example:
    You can’t see whether the Link Resolver has been disabled via Edit > Citation…

  3. Ability to change the default for reading room to NOT FINAL - Second Attempt

    In August 2018 Release we got a solution for the original idea, which made things worse for us. Previously the default for the reading room was set to "Final" check in. The original idea suggested to change this to "Not Final" to help avoid a scenario where for example resource sharing items are returned accidenty to their home campus when users are not finished with them.
    As of August 2018 Alma remembers the last selected choice and keeps it for the next action ("sticky approach"). Since eventually every book loaned in the reading room has to be returned "final", now…

  4. Make Add an Item Work Order Configurable

    When an "on-the-fly" item is created, loaned and returned by a patron, the item is automatically flagged for routing to the Acquisitions Work Order/Workflow.

    In our institution, the ACQ Department does not work on these items, and this should not be the workflow that the materials are routed to, but we are unable to change the work order type.

    We'd like to be able to configure or change the work order type for these materials, and also for the check-in process to more clearly delineate and note that the item is an "on-the-fly" item in particular. In the current process,…

  5. Sort of holdings with the same location by call number in the GetIt Tab

    Currently, the display of holdings in Primo for multi-volume monographs is random.
    Alma only allows to configure the order of locations by "their proximity to the patron, according to the library IP address”. However, holdings with the same location but different call numbers are not sorted in any meaningful way.

    When we catalogue a multi-volume monograph we create a different holding record for each volume, so we cannot use the “item sort routines” to adjust the display in Primo, because they only apply to items within the same holding.

  6. Change default in loan history to fulfillment activities

    In loan history the default radio button is item changes. Better to have fulfillment activities as default because it displays displays loans, returns and in-house-use.

  7. Add department to User Details in Alma and to Hold/Resource Sharing pick slip for department delivery

    We would like to use office delivery in Alma for our faculty but do not want to deliver items to an address. We want to deliver items to a department and have faculty pick up their items in the Department's office. In order to do this we need Department added to the User Details screen (we currently store department information in Job Description) and we also need department added to the Hold/Resource Sharing Pick Slip.

  8. Waitlist functionality for short-term loans

    It would be helpful to have a waitlist functionality for short-term loans (i.e. for reserve items). This would allow patrons to put their name on a list to be next in line once a short-term loan item has been returned. Alma would send an email/text to the patron when the item is returned telling the patron they have a specific window of time (e.g. 5 minutes, configurable by the institution) to check out the item. During that window of time no other patrons can check it out. After the window of time has expired the next person on the waitlist…

    Currently, Alma limits the borrowing activity letter to list only 100 loans.

    It would be great to have the letter list all loans without a limit.

  10. Ability to Toggle the Missing with Fulfillment Role

    Currently, the only way to mark an item missing with a fulfillment role is from a request. However, circulation staff often need to mark items missing that do not have requests. As far as I can tell, it requires the Physical Inventory Operator role to toggle the missing status from the item record. I would like staff to be able to toggle the missing status without having permission to edit/add records. Marking something missing is typically a fulfillment activity though and not always related to a request.

    When an item marked lost (or missing) is checked in on Alma (i.e. found), we would like a notification (via email or otherwise) be sent automatically to the circulation supervisor.

  14. Allow barcode search for a course reserve citation

    Often professors fail to come to the Library and remove their personal books from Course Reserve, leaving the Reserves supervisor with many such books and no idea to whom they belong. In Voyager, she could go into the Reserves module, scan in the barcode, and it would bring up the course, instructor, and the rest of the course's reading list, so she knew immediately whose book it was. In Alma, scanning in the barcode in Alma brings up only the brief bibliographic record. If she goes to Fulfillment/Course Reserves/Citations, all reserve items appear, and she could search by title to…

  15. Limit in house use entry through Scan in Items

    Alma records In House use via "Scan in Items" module and whenever item that is not on loan checked in. I would like to see a setting that will allow "In House use" to be registered only by Scan in Items. There are numerous occasions where staff may check in items but it is necessarily "in house use" by patrons.

  16. Select all citations across multiple pages in Course Reserves > Citations

    The 'Select All' checkbox only selects the citations which are listed on the current page (i.e. 20 citations maximum). Is it possible for all citation to be selected across multiple pages?

  17. Configure courtesy loan letters by location or item policy.

    It would be nice to be able to configure courtesy loan letters by either location or item policy, so that letters aren't generated for a 2 hour reserve.

  18. Autocomplete

    It would be extremely helpful for ALMA to have an autocomplete feature when searching for title, author or even call number. Many times you can be off by one letter and ALMA won't find the item.

  19. Change lost Item replacement fee refund from ratio to set amount

    When configuring terms of use policies regarding the amount of money to be returned to a patron if a lost book is returned, we currently have to enter a Lost Item replacement fee Refund ratio instead of using a flat amount for the amount to be returned. Because any changes in our charges have to be approved via a campus committee that meets only once per year, we must use the Replacement fee amounts that are already approved. Our Lost Book replacement fee is currently $110. If the book is returned, we would like to reduce that amount to $20.…

  20. Configuring External Library names for display in Primo

    In Alma it is already possible to enter external location names for display in Primo. 
We request this option for library names, too. Currently, the configured library name is exposed to the user in the Primo Getit tab as well as to the staff in several places in the Alma user interface, f.ex. the „currently at“ pickup list and the persistent menu. We request the possibility to configure an internal name for display in Alma (for example in abreviated form) and and external name for display in the Primo Get it tab.
