  1. Could we have dates showing the actual month, not represented numerically?

    Many of our students can't work out when their items are due, maybe due to the increasing use of the US dating format, so they don't know if 4/10/16 is the 4th of October or the 10th of April. Using the actual months would decrease the confusion.

  2. Make the "General Mail" feature more customizable

    On the "User Details" screen in Alma, there is a "Send Message" function. If "General Mail" is selected, any message that is composed shows up as "ILLEMAILTOUSERlongstringofnumbers" under the user's Attachment tab. Unlike other letters, this is saved as a "text/plain" type, requiring the file to be downloaded before it can be viewed. It would be nice if this attachment type could be renamed, or given a more descriptive title than "ILLEMAILTO_USER," especially as it is generated from within the User Details screen and not via Resource Sharing or ILL.

  3. user title as free text field instead of pre-defined drop-down

    The field user title should be definable as free text field (min 100 characters long), so that various combinations of user titles can be imported from the campus information system. Now this is not possible, because titles (resp. combinations of titles) have to be defined BEFORE importing users via API.

  4. Make patron info updateable in Primo flag more granular

    Currently the only control on allowing patrons to update info via Primo is either on or off:

    Would like the ability to say for example only Visitors user group can update info via Primo.

  5. Role Profiles Enhancement

    When using role profiles, it would be nice if the profile could create a link to the user(s) with roles defined by the profile. Then, if you want to modify the profile, the change updates all users in the profile. Currently, you'd have to update the role profile and each individual user.

  6. Automatically add new user statistical categories as they are imported via the SIS integration

    As a system administrator I want any new statistical category codes used in the student file import to be added to the table as they appear in the file. Voyager previously added the code and then a system administrator could add the description to match.

  7. Make Notes/Blocks tabs more noticeable

    When users have blocks or notes attached to their account, it would be helpful if the tab changed colour or had a red exclamation mark icon in the corner. This would alert members of staff immediately if there was something on the account that needed to be seen, i.e information about disability arrangements, reasons why a user is blocked, fine payment arrangements etc.

    Currently the folded blue tab in the corner, meant to indicate that there is information in that space, makes the Notes/Blocks tabs just blend in with the rest.

    Making Notes/Blocks tabs more noticeable would mean important and…

  8. Please leave me signed in at my library.

    There is no point in timing us out of our specific library. It is super annoying to come back to my desk and find that ALMA has kicked me out of my library and that I have to select it again---the only library in the list of options, btw, making it pointless for me to "choose a library" in the first place. There's only one! Please turn that off. It is a bug, not a feature of the program.

  9. automate user update job to send user emails ie about to expire

    Currently the user update job can send emails to patrons. However due to the technical aspect of creating sets and running the job our user services librarians prefer to take the information out of a dashboard and widget and add them to a template email in outlook. It would be better if a schedule job could be created to send out user update emails to logical sets. Specifically for users that are about to expire - and have loans to return.

  10. Automatically attach the circulation desk that I choose in role creation.

    When you are assigning any roles that require a circulation desk attached, you have us choose the desk, select it, and then attach it. Why can you not just use the one I select and remove the attach step?

  11. Add address parameters to update/notify user job

    We are a library in an institution that has one library but several locations/physical campuses. The students order material in Primo, and we send material from the library to the students by post (internal system) to their location.

    The issue is that our SIS (Student information system) does not seperate the students by locaton, and does not offer any indication to where the stuydent is located in the user profile import to Alma. As it is, we have no possibility to see whether a student is located at the same campus as the library or at one of the others.

  12. SIS - Save Rejected records in XML format for re-load

    Currently rejected records from the SIS batch upload process are only identified in the event log. It would be very useful if the rejected records were saved to a separate file in XML format. This would allow for easier re-load once the load error is resolved.

  13. View only electronic inventory role

    It would be great to have a role that could view all information related to electronic collections and portfolios but not edit them. This would be helpful for overlap analysis and viewing other details for individuals who should not be able to edit electronic inventory. One use case would be for network zone access for members of a consortium who access but do not maintain consortial resources.

  14. Ability to log in as user to a user's Library Card

    It would be nice to be able to log in to a user's Library Card as that user for various reasons, mainly related to seeing what the patron can see (which letters they are selected to receive, which loans are present and which can be renewed by patron, etc.).

    This has been an immensely helpful feature within ILLiad, and with the ability to integrate Alma and ILLiad and allow users "one" library account to manage rather than several, it would be very helpful in troubleshooting users' questions over the phone or via email.

    Enable deletion of staff users from historical records

    Based on strong laws for data protection in Germany and in order to avoid efficiency control of the employees we need the possibility to delete the staff user from historical records.

  16. Allow administrators to change the labels on Alma terminology.

    Allow relabeling of field tags, such as changing CHRON I to YEAR, and ENUM A to VOLUME. Let libraries have the flexability to use the terminalogy that they prefer.

  17. Inactive/Active change to be visible in history tab

    When a users account is made inactive/active it does not currently show in the history tab. I would be extremely useful to be able to view when a users account becomes inactive.

  18. Alma user mgmt: Ability to add role profiles to a set of users

    Currently you can add roles to a set of users as per http://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/KnowledgeArticles/Howtoaddaroletoagroupofusers%3F. However, if you want to add multiple roles you have to run the job multiple times and potentially for different scopes each time.

    It would useful to be able to apply role profiles to a set of users, as you can predefine many roles in a profile.

  19. Update/Notify Users

    External Notes and Statistics information is overwritten when synchronizing patrons Externally via the SIS system. Notes and Statistics information can be entered manually and set as “Internal” by running the Update/Notify Users job and selecting the option “Add/changed field = Internal”. However, you are limited by the information that can be added to each selection. In the “Notes” selection you can’t select nor add a Note Type. In the Statistic selection, there’s no option to select a Category Type or type a Note. (see examples)

  20. Add Job Category to Update/Notify Users

    It seems strange that you can add User groups, roles etc in the Update/Notify USers job but the Job Category isn't available.
    It would be useful if you could add this as we are starting to use Job Categories is TOU rules and being able to assign them based on a set of users would be really helpful.
