Allow access to "Roles Privileges" configuration for General System Administrator
Allow access to "Roles Privileges" configuration for General System Administrator
Ex Libris staff have the ability to remove specific privileges from Alma roles via the "Roles Privileges" configuration (User Management - Roles and Registration - Roles Privileges)
Since roles in Alma are not very fine-grained, and roles often grant access to groups of privileges that shouldn't necessarily be granted as a set, it would be very helpful for customers to have access to the "Roles Privileges" configuration.
Ideally we would have the ability to make edits ourselves, but Read-Only access would also be valuable, because it would allow us to:
- know what the possibilities are for restricting specific privileges
- make constructive requests of Alma support for tailoring the privileges on a specific role.
- see when a role has had its privileges changed from the defaults, to better understand Alma system behavior
Because of the potential for negative effects on Alma users ability to work in the system, access should be restricted to General System Administrator (User Administrator is another possibility, but General System Administrator would be my top choice)
Example screenshots of what the configuration looks like to Ex Libris staff are attached.

Agreed, this would provide Admins greater transparency and control over granular user permissions in Alma.

This would be ever so useful.

I wish I had more votes spare for this. I support it both for giving Admins autonomy to manage this area, including by cutting down on time wasted with Salesforce cases, plus also it is ridiculous that the admin customer sees only the view full of codes that often do not match the actual outcome of change, and the vendor gets the lovely clearly well-designed UI. This is completely opposite to what it should be, though ideally both admin and vendor gets both.
