Ability to customize Discovery display labels for work orders down to the status level
For Discovery display labels (labels in Primo), all work order types (fulfillment, bindery, and acquisitions) are controlled through the following two customizations:
1) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
withexpected_date In process of {0} until {1} (where 0=Work Order Type, and 1=Work Order Days to Process)2) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.
withnoexpecteddate In process of {0} (where 0=Work Order Type)So, currently, we cannot customize down the the statuses setup (local to us) under the work order departments, but this would be helpful to do. For instance, we have fulfillment work orders with a status of Trace Requested,…

Make "updated by" field configurable, not primary ID
There are many areas in Alma that will list the last Alma user to update something. These fields will display the primary identifier of the last updater, but we find this is not particularly helpful when we log in with our campus shib accounts, as this makes our employee ID number show up here. It would be more helpful if we could use Last Name, First Name or something similar in the Updated By fields.

Model the Course/Reading List association as a many-to-many relationship
We need to be able to affiliate the same reading list with multiple course objects in Alma. Currently, reading lists can only be assigned to a single Alma Course object at a given time. At our university with a complex course timetable structure we need to be able to accommodate complex relationships between cross-listed and "meets with" courses. For these courses, we must accommodate a single course that is offered by multiple departments or at multiple course numbers (e.g., undergraduate and graduate versions of the same course "meet with" each other by sharing a lecture).
For example, our Computer Sciences…

Add a view option for Attachments.
Currently if you want to view an attachment (e.g. licence attachment, POL-attachment, etc) you have to download it to your computer. This is very annoying if you just want to have a quick glance at it as your are constantly cleaning out your downloads folder.
It would be really great if there were a view option which either showed the document in a pop-up or opened it in another tab of your browser.126 votes -
Timeout should be configurable
Timeout should be configurable to allow for longer timeout than 60 min. This would be helpful for staff who work for example in areas like information services where you need to use Alma several times during the day but not continuously
114 votesDear community,
Thanks for raising this idea.
The conceptual solution which is currently being evaluated, is to allow the user to choose/control the desired timeout session period from 4 options (in minutes) - 60 (current, and default) , 90, 120 or 150.
This reflects a potential increase of up to 250% in session timeout period.
Please let us know if you have any comments regarding the suggested solution.
Thanks,
Uri Beladev

Job for copying the configuration from the production environment into the Standard Sandbox
Making testing and training in an Alma Standard Sandbox based on Ex Libris provided configuration is very difficult since this configuration may be very different from the one in the customer's production environment.
Currently Ex Libris is offering two types of Sandboxes for Alma:
(1) "Standard" - by default included in Alma subscription pricing. This sandbox contains Ex Libris provided data and configuration
(2) "Premium" – for addition subscription fee – this sandbox includes a full copy of the customer's data and configurationRefresh of the Alma sandbox environment is possible up to once a quarter, upon request. In the…

Option of standard clock time or military time
The 24 hour standard clock time is more feasible for reserve/loan periods rather than military time, or at the very least incorporate both options for the user. Military time is too confusing for our student workers. We had to use a cheat sheet to convert military time to standard clock time to avoid giving incorrect information to the patrons.

Embargoed resources displaying in Primo
Currently records from within an embargo period are discover-able to end-users via Primo.
The user then thinks we have access to the records and selects it only to be presented with No full text available.
Embargoed records are outside of our coverage range and should not display in our discovery interface.39 votes -
File differences included with Release Notes
It would be very helpful if ExL included a Differences report (.diff file) for the Delivery-System-Skin mashup CSS file (mashupnew.css) and also any Letter-template XSLT files which have changed for each new Alma Release, and to post them alongside the Knowledge Base article for the release (ie. https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/ReleaseNotes/00992017/May2017 ).
Any institution which has made local customizations based on these files needs to perform a manual review each month. While this isn't so horrific for the single mashup_new.css file, it is for the Letter-templates. Having a section which lists the differences would be a huge time-saver. Bonus…

Simple letter formatting and testing
Amending and testing letters and notifications is simply too complicated with many steps in various tables, not identical names, test users receiving all types of letters not just the ones they are working on etc. Some form of WYSIWYG editor with test recipient per letter type would be great.

Ability to select Columns exported via Tools->Excel option
When in a view or screen with Tools option (for Excel) saving, it would be very helpful to be able to have more contol over the columns output.
User Roles is a great example. The list does not include the ACTIVE (Y/N) option, yet it is clearly an important piece of information when comparing users or building role templates. A repository search is another example. It has 18 fields pre-selected, however this could prove much more efficient if we could select to add or remove the columns that make the most sense to us prior to saving.25 votes -
Add more work record details (e.g. MMSid) to the InterestedInLetter to improve Interested User notifications
Currently the XML which builds the InterestedInLetter for receipted Print and activated Electronic resources does not provide many details which can be customised in the letters customers would like to send to their patrons/interested users.
A specific use might be to send a pre-set Primo link to the resource (e.g. a deeplink search by MMSid), but also to be able to provide much clearer information to the Interested user about what the item is, and where it is/will be found.
i.e.
i) Order Number (PO Line ref)
ii) Title (Possibly brief POL record/not the updated bib to which inventory is…70 votes -
Browser's back button!
What would it take to make the browser's Back Button functional throughout Alma? It's just killing me to have to reload all the time because I accidentally use it. Plus, there are some screens that you can't back-up from to go where you were without starting all over again. As a newbie, it's surprising to me that this is a problem and that everyone else has learned to work around it.

Add breadcrumb trail to staff interface
In Alma, the information displayed often depends on the task you are working on to get there. This is a nice feature, but it would be helpful if breadcrumbs were displayed to help track how you arrived at the screen.
This would be especially helpful to new users.

Improve the ease of reordering the Online Services Order and General Electronic Services Order tables
Currently, items in the General Electronic Services Order and Online Services Order tables need to be moved using up and down arrows. This can be very time-consuming if the tables contain numerous items. It would significantly improve the ease of use i, the items in this list could be resorted either through drag-and-drop or by moving a given item to a numbered slot in the table (similar to the Netflix interface).

Cursor auto-return to search box.
Each Alma search involves re-clicking the search box to restart the search process. Time consumer when searching lists of items. Many websites have a feature in which the cursor auto-returns to the search box. Please add this feature.
66 votesThe new Alma layout provides this functionality. For example: search: Physical Holdings -->the cursor stays at the search box. Same works for Borrowing /Lending Requests search, Order lines search (when the new layout is turned-on) and all other areas moved to the new layout. Note that there’s a keyboard shortcut (/) to focus on the search, which works for all search-mode (current interface and new layout)

Recent searches fine tuning/disabling
Hello,
customizing the number of results of the "recent searches" returned in the new UI would be a great thing. Now on our Alma it seems limited to the last 10 searches.
As some people seems to prefer the old browser cache, it would be a great thing too the possibility of eventually disabling it.
.
Thanks,

JavaScript in the Alma Resolver Menu (GetIt/ViewIt)
"Delivery system skins" enable customers to modify the Alma resolver menu using custom CSS and images, but it would be extremely useful if customers could also add custom JavaScript to the resolver menu.
In many cases, desired customizations require DOM manipulation that cannot be achieved with CSS alone. Moreover, many libraries rely on JavaScript-driven web analytics tools (such as Google Analytics) to track user engagement across various web properties.

Access SalesForce from directly within Alma
There should be the ability to get directly to ExLibris support (SalesForce) from within Alma vs. going through the customer center.
