AFN Loans on library loans webhooks
We manage home delivery requests. We need to print labels and generate a file of deliveries once a day with all loans.
Alma did not provide a list of home delivery transactions the same day, you need to wait the next day to generate a Analytics report.
We have developed a solution that makes a list using Loans Webhooks. Now we are using AFN (Automated Fulfillment Network) in our consortium and those transactions are not published on our Webhook, because books are from other institutions even though the loan was made in our system.
In order to have all home delivery transactions we need all loans made in our institution normal loans or AFN loans. To sum up, we ask to have AFN loans in the loans webhooks.

List of Home Delivery Request to print labels and inform courier company
We manage a big number of home delivery requests. Alma does not allow you to create a list of loans of home delivery to print labels and send the list to the courier company.
The only way to do it is the day after by Analytics or developing a custom solution using webhooks and users API, to have it the same day.
It is necessary to make a list of patrons name, address, zip code, city, telephone and email address to print labels and create a csv file to be imported to the courier company software.
We can't wait a day to print labels because the loan period starts the day. Some software adds a number of days to compensate delivery days and manipulation, but Alma does not.
We have been sending books home since we opened the library and the software that we had allowed us to do this report the current day to work properly.I hope other institutions are in the same situation and help us voting for this improvement.

Consider only the opening days and hours when calculating the transit time
The Transit Time Rule for Physical Item Requests calculates the transit time in calendar days.
As a result, days and times when the library is closed are also indicated as estimated delivery times for the requested media.
These times are also displayed in Primo and thus give users incorrect information.
Would it be possible to consider only the opening days and hours of the libraries when calculating the transit time?8 votes -
Add shortcut to viewing item history
Many of our staff have trouble remembering how to access an item's history in Alma. It would be nice if a shortcut to that information could be added. I imagine something like an extra tab on the Scan In Items page called Item History - it allows you to enter a barcode and quickly pull up all the info in the Item Changes, Holding Changes, and Fulfillment activities tables but without having to first enter the Physical Item Editor.

Add Workflow Note to Purchase Request Screen
At the University of Cumbria, we have configured Leganto questions, and we are using it in combination with a Citation Processing Rule to create a purchase request in Alma.
When we view the purchase requests in Alma, we see the "Requester note" as we have configured this to display. This works well but we'd also like to see the "Workflow note" as well on the purchase request screen as it contains information about the purchase (e.g. library, number of copies, etc.).
The idea is for Ex Libris to allow us to enable the display the "Workflow note" on the purchase request in addition to the "Requester note".

Allow patron to create "Alias" that prints to Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter
When item that has a request is returned at the circulation desk, a Ful Hold Shelf Request Slip Letter is printed. There is a Patron name on the Print.
There should be a possibility for a Patron to choose an "Alias" (Name or Number) that would be printed to the Letter. This could be an Address -field that patron can update in Primo. Then it would be printed to the slip letter.

User Purge should be made AFN aware and not allow the deletion of a user with active transactions or fines/fees at another AFN inst.
The Alma User Purge job is not AFN-aware. It will allow the deletion of a user record from the user's home institution's IZ even when the user has active transactions or fines/fees at another AFN institution. These "orphaned" linked user records are confusing for both users and library staff and are not a best practice for user record management.
Examples of the resulting problems we've encountered thus far include:
1) If the user's home institution performs a purge and then re-loads records, the orphaned linked user records in the other AFN member institutions do not re-connect to the new version of the user's home record. The user then cannot view their previously charged AFN material on their account.
2) If the user then receives notification from the item's home institution, the user will often contact their home institution for assistance. The user's home institution has deleted the user's record in their own IZ and has no access to the user’s activity.
3) If the item's home institution is unable to contact the user, they often contact the user's home institution for assistance. Again, the user's home institution has deleted the user's record in their own IZ and has no access to the user’s activity. The Alma User Purge job is not AFN-aware. Communicate edited AFN request details back to user's library, for inclusion in next ROTA stop.
In our Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN), we are using the "volume" field in the resource sharing request form as the way users can indicate which volume(s) of a multi-volume set they wish to request from another AFN member institution. These requests are title level requests.
(I'll note: We are not currently using the "description field" selection option in the request form, since upon last testing, it treated, for example, a "v. 2" as a different item than a "v.2" or a "V. 2" or a "2" when building the rota, and our consortium has too much variability right now in how items were cataloged for this to be efficient to offer to patrons.)
So:
IF (for example):
--the users uses the Volume free-text field to request volumes 1-3
--and the first library in the ROTA can only fill volumes 2-3THEN:
--the first library in the ROTA is able to edit the patron's request as it shows in their IZ, to now only include needing Volume 1.
--the first library in the ROTA can create two requests for the patron so they can send volumes 2 and 3 to the patron's pick-up library.
--the first library can then "cancel" the original edited request so that the unfilled need for Volume 1 is passed along to the next AFN member institution in the ROTA.BUT:
--the edits made to the request by the first library, to indicate only volume 1 is now the only volume needed, are neither forwarded along to the next library in the ROTA when the request is cancelled to promote it, nor communicated back to the patron's home institution's borrowing request. The updated information does not pass along to the next library in the ROTA.
--the edits essentially disappear, leaving the next library to also consider filling volumes 1-3.It seems the only way we've found thus far to update the request is:
1) the library that can only lend a portion of the request must contact the patron's home library.
2) then the patron's home library must edit the patron's borrowing request to include the updated volume information.
3) then the patron's home library must then use the "Recalculate Rota assignment" option to resend out the edited request information. We would like for the request edits made by earlier libraries in the ROTA to be forwarded along to subsequent libraries in the ROTA, without needing such staff intervention at the patron's home library.

Purchase request - assign to function added to drop down menu or in its own tab (after the currant tabs).
It would be good to be able to filter purchase requests by assign to function.

Allow automatic barcode generation in quick cataloguing form from Manage Patron Services
The quick cataloguing form has a variant depending on whether you access it through Fulfillment > Manage Patron services > loan tab > create item or through Resources > add a physical item.
In the first case (Fulfillment > Manage Patron services etc.), quick cataloguing is used in the case where a document is presented for loan but does not exist in the database. The barcode is then obligatory for loan, otherwise loan is not possible. The barcode cannot be automatically created.
In the Resources > add a physical item access to this form, the barcode is not mandatory but when automatic barcode generation is enabled, this will create a barcode.
We would suggest that the ability to have automatic barcode generation should be available in quick cataloguing form in all cases. While creating an item quickly before a loan, it may happen that an item doesn't previously have a barcode.

Deleting items on reading lists: notification when batch-withdrawing
The recently-added “Alert of Associated Reading List when Withdrawing or Deleting Items” facility is very welcome. However, this only produces alerts when withdrawing individual items. Would it be possible to add this notification to the reports produced when doing batch withdrawals, otherwise this feature has only limited use.

Make the Send Message emails more customisable
Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam. If it would be possible to create templates containing and editable body text and combine it with the letter components such as a header and a footer, they could be used in a range of situations where we need to contact the user in specific matters which are not covered by the usual Alma Letters.

Library opening hours - prolong the "valid to" field in bulk
It would be very helpful to have a possibility to prolong library opening hours in bulk. We have more than 40 libraries and now the only possibility to prolong library opening hours is to open each line with opening hours, save it and run the "Apply changes" job. With so many libraries with many lines for opening hours in the library calendar will be this change for many hours of clicking.

Ability to add option to see if line has invoice to POL summaries
When looking at a list of POLs, it would be useful to see in the summary or be able to add to the customised summary view, if the item has been invoiced.

Allow request-type webhooks to be triggered only under certain conditions
We would like the ability to configure request webhooks such that they are triggered only when certain conditions are met. Request webhooks for patron physical item requests include the user’s primary ID and the title they have requested. This type of circulation information should in most circumstances stay within the library and not be shared with third parties. But it may be necessary to enable a third-party integration in order to provide needed services, such as a smart locker delivery service. Currently, request-type webhooks are triggered by any request in Alma, regardless of request type or destination. We would like our webhook to be triggered only by requests that designate our smart locker “library” as a destination. This way we would send user data to the third party only when it is necessary to perform the service the user has requested. This enhancement would enable us and our students to benefit from this integration without sacrificing patron privacy.

Allow booking requests only on the quarter hour and half hour
If your booking resolution policies are set to "Minute", users can select any minute in the hour as a start and end time. We would like a configuration option that allows us to limit booking request start and end times to just the quarter hour and half hour.

Allow filtering and sorting on all columns in "In process items"
In the "In process items", some columns can be filtered (Process status, request filter, library) and some can be sorted but not all. It would be useful to be able to filter by "Modified by", "Modification date" and to sort by "Modification Date".

Ability to run a job on items already marked lost.
We would like the ability to run a job on lost items from other institutions, to receive a special block. This block restricts the user from placing anymore request and also (do to an app we built) blocks their electronic access. It is quite effective in getting the patron to return items the institution would then be billed for.
The problem is a block placed on the item prior to it going lost is removed when the item is marked lost and we are not able to run a job on the lost items that would actually apply the block. (we tried)
