1. E-resources - Add Inventory number with automatic counter

   To a physical item, is it possible to add an inventory number both manually or - if configured the sequence - with the function "Allocate" to enter the next number.
   For the ebook acquired in way "pick and choose", it is necessary the same function, with sequence number, price and date of inventory.

2. Import Profiles - support mapping to E-Collection

   See https://enhancements.exlibrisusers.org/ideas/AENH-I-36318

   We need the ability to map to Electronic Collection. Because you cannot map to E-Collection, you have to have a separate profile for each collection for which you want to load portfolios. This dramatically increases the number of profiles we need to maintain. In addition, this requires more staff to have the ability to modify import profiles, even though the only thing changing each time is the collection name.

   Mapping either the collection name (exact match) or the collection ID would be sufficient. This will enable more uniform loading of records.

3. Improve Alma's Licence „Controlled Vocabulary“ functionality

   Background (as it works now):

   Under „Manage License Terms“ a field can be defined as „Controlled Vocabulary“ and the defined CV values can be selected within a License. However, these CV values are only some kind of text module / boilerplate text which are copied into a specific license field. This means: when a CV value is changed or deleted, the content of this specific field in all licenses did not change. The change must be made in each license itself. A deleted CV value is displayed in the license field as: „<CV value> (not listed)“. The CV values functionality is quite the same as for e.g. item statistic fields (here it is fine, that code/text is only copied into item statistic fields and never changed again).

   Enhancement:

   To have a real benefit of CV values - in the case of licenses - it would be fine, if every change of a CV value (in the „License term controlled vocabulary“) is reflected in each license which uses this CV value. This means: not a phrase but an ID of a phrase is copied into the license field.

   Changes of license fields via API:

   We use links to websites and e-mail addresses in "CV value" fields. Currently it is not possible to update such "CV value" fields via API :-(
   With suggested enhancement there is no need for API updates.

5. Show the same note both in Edit service and on Edit collection level

   For a bether overwiev show the note addedd in collection service also under Edit collection. Saves a lot of work.

6. Implement Automatic Upload of Electronic Holdings for OverDrive

   OverDrive is a collection of electronic books and audiobooks that is comparable to other autoholdings collections like Wiley Online Library - AutoHoldings Books and ProQuest Ebook Central. There is a large overarching collection of ebooks (suitable for a Community Zone AutoHoldings Electronic Collection) a subset of which individual libraries subscribe to. It would help if Alma offered an Automatic Upload of Electronic Holdings integration with OverDrive.

7. If e-collection from CZ is already active in NZ, ask for validation

   It is possible to activate electronic collections from the CZ more than once in your NZ. We are aware there are use cases where this is the desired behaviour.

   Yet it would be nice if there was a short dialogue: "The collection is already active in your NZ. Are you sure you want to activate it again?" - just to avoid duplicate activation by mistake.

8. In import profiles, ability to specify which 856 $u url is used to create electronic portfolios

   Scenario: We manage some electronic collections in Worldshare Collection Manager. OCLC provides bibliographic records with the resource's url in the 856 $u. Sometimes the bib records will include multiple url's but we only want to select a specific one to create our portfolios in Alma.

   For example, the Worldcat master record for OCLC 957128084 has 11 856 fields. (See attached screenshot.) Some are institution specific and others belong to different access providers. In such a situation, we want to be able to select the 856 $u url that begins with "http://www.jstor.org/stable" or "https://proquest.safaribooksonline.com".

   Implement auto holdings (autoholding, automatic upload of e-holdings) for Perlego eBooks.

   This will allow for automatic update of the collection based on most recent institutional holdings file received from Perlego.

   As is already available for ProQuest, Springer, Elsevier, Wiley, and other publishers.

10. Post-migration portfolio urls remain even if changed afterwards

    Post-migration side effect with created portfolios: the url from the bib is created in the new portfolio. This url remains in the portfolio even after it has been changed at a later date (not in an editable field; the url is also searchable even after it has been changed. So, old urls from a migrated system remain searchable and in the portfolio record even after editing. Change this behavior.

11. PDA import profiles for electronic titles - limit matching to specific electronic collection

    The ability to limit matching of imported MARC record against existing records with portfolios in a selected electronic collection was release for repository import profiles in the Feb 2024 release in response to a previous Ideas Exchange submission:

12. Add electronic collection details to the Alma publishing

    Currently both physical and digital collections are published to Primo. Because of this these data elements can be added to the display sections of the Primo UI including the collections facets (courtesy of the Primo back office rules).

    Similarly the collection name is published to Primo Central and therefore can be included in the collections facet and full display Details section.

    Note: The publishing should also include details showing whether the resource is a Community Zone resource or not. (It may be desirable to only include non-Community Zone collections in the Primo displays as the PCI collections is already displayed).

    Use cases:
    1. Currently our Primo collections facet includes Alma physical and digital collections values and PCI collections values however the Alma electronic collections are missing.
    For consistency if should also be optionally possible to include the electronic name in the collections facet.
    2. Setup the Alma electronic collection to be included in the Primo display and search fields.
    3. Ability to publish the electronic collection for third party products such as Unstacked.

13. Correct article level target links for records without assigned volume or issue numbers

    For example, we see erroneous records (without working linking/availability) that are published ahead of print and which do not have specific volume/issue numbers. Until the publisher updates this information Primo links are directed to an error page.

15. Add portfolio options for non-matches in PDA New Import profile

    There is often a discrepancy between candidate and purchase DDA records that we receive - often, we receive purchase records without first receiving the candidate records. Of course we try to correct this with vendors, but with limited success.

    I now force non-matched purchased records to load, but they come in with unactivated portfolios that are not in an electronic collection. Could one of these solutions be added?

    • Preferably, additional portfolio options for the New Order import profile to activate the portfolio and put it in a collection
    • Alternately, some sort of action or notification that there has not been a match, so that I don't have to look through every job history to catch the non-matches

16. Flag AI created resources

    As an electronic resources access manager, I would like to propose functionality be created to identify when a resources was created all or partially by artificial intelligence.

    More content is being created by AI and it is getting harder and harder to detect. Gobi now has "AI-generated" as a tag under "interdisciplinary topics" when purchasing books (screenshot attached) and it would be great if Alma could do something similar to alert users when they are looking through institutions catalogs of resources.

    I am not sure if this idea is for Alma only or Alma and Primo but it would be great to find a way forward in flagging know AI generated resources.

    I also know this will not be a perfect fix but if resources can be flagged and the option to report/tag is provided it will help our users.

17. "Electronic material type originating from Bib" vs "Electronic material type" : a display issue in the Portfolio service editor's list

    In an electronic portfolio, there is a field called "Electronic material type originating from Bib" which can be overloaded by another field called "Electronic material type".
    The Job "Change electronic portfolio information" allows to update the material type of portfolios into the field "Electronic material type" into a set of portfolios.
    If we do so, the material type is not updated into the Portfolio service editor's list... which is confusing.

    In Alma, coverage settings for embargoes assume a "moving wall" style of embargo where new content is available every month. However, some periodicals operate on the basis of a "current year" style of embargo where coverage is fixed throughout the year, and only rolls over in January.

    Currently, our only solutions to manage a "current year" embargo are to either set a shorter embargo, meaning unlicensed content would be discoverable in Primo or to set a longer embargo, meaning not all licensed content would be discoverable in Primo.

    We'd like to see functionality that would allow us to set fixed dates for an embargo (e.g. Jan 1, 2023 - Dec. 31, 2023) or otherwise set a "current year" style embargo.

20. Add " Additional e-mails " fields to " Report to ex libris " form in Alma

    In Salesforce the customers can use "Additional e-mails" feature to let colleagues know that they have (already) opened a case for a specific issue. This makes teamwork easier.

    For SF cases opened using the "Report to ex libris" feature, this is not possible. Plase add 5 "E-mail 1" - "E-mail 5" as in SalesForce.
