Cancellation Reason Customization
It would be very helpful to be able to customize the Cancellation Reasons with a code table of some kind. Especially since the Cancellation Letter appears to pull directly from the Cancellation Reasons drop-down, being able to customize the cancellations would give flexibility in the wording of the letter and encompass any further changes to Cancellation Reasons in the future.

It would be appreciated if the status of this was corrected from 'Already Supported' to 'Completed', per February 2023 Release.
Request-Cancellation Reasons Now Customizable
February 2023 Fulfillment NERS Enhancement (ID #7705)
It is now possible for each institution to customize the list of request-cancellation reasons that appears in the dropdown list of reasons when cancelling requests like holds or resource-sharing borrowing requests. The text displayed for each of the standard reasons can be modified, and reasons that are not relevant to the institution can be removed from the dropdown list. In addition, the institution can create up to ten new reasons to add to the dropdown list. These new options enable the institution to create a list of options that only includes reasons that are actually in use in their libraries, thus preventing problems that arise when an inappropriate reason is selected. The list of cancellation reasons can be edited at Configuration menu > Fulfillment > Request Cancellation Reasons. For additional information, see Configuring Request Cancellation Reasons. -

The ability to ask Ex Libris to remove or change text of existing reasons is not the same as the ability to customize yourself. So, no, this is not already supported.

Agree wholeheartedly with statements of Anne-Louise and Olof!

The ability to customize the cancellation reasons ourselves, within Alma, is especially important for us in non-english speaking countries. The Swedish translations are awful and incomprehensible for our users.
How can you tell us this is already supported when it's clearly not?

What Ann-Louse said! Status for idea = not supported.

I believe most of the institutions that have voted here would like to have the choice to manage this locally, without involving Ex Libris support. In that sense, this is not already supported.

Is ExLibris considering this enhancement?
We also notices that the options can be different. For instance 'Request expired' is can be used when cancelling from the request tab from the user records, but NOT when cancelling via the monitor request workbench?
This is problematic...?

Yes, please!

You have my vote! It would be nice as well to have the option to edit the reason if one was selected by mistake, even for a completed request.

Many of the reasons provided are not meaningful. The ability to edit or add our own would be incredibly useful.

This would be very useful

It would be more useful to expand the number of characters that can be used in the rejection message box. Reasons for rejecting requests and the specific links used to forward a student to resources really vary.

Current messages are difficult for clients to understand and can lead to unnecessary distress, if customised this could address individual circumstances well.

This would be a very useful option

We also support this idea, a drop down with a good variety meaningful reasons would give additional flexibility to our cancellations to students.

Yes. The first item in the list is used infrequently: "Items moved." I don't even know what that means. We wanted to cancel because "Request filled with alternate means," but could not add that reason.

This is completely needed now with COVID. AVailable ebooks could be a reason to cancel.

Strongly support this idea.

Oh Yes please! If some reasons need to be reserved for Alma usage, then perhaps an "Additional Reasons" table that sites have complete control over could work. This model is used in some Course Reserves (Leganto) configuration.
Even if we can't change the code for the reserved reasons, can we at least change their labels ourselves.
This seems to be such an anomaly from the rest of Alma configuration.
