There is already a purchase request form built into Alma that requires authentication. The web form, as I understand it, was specifically designed to create an option that does not require authentication.

You should also be able to link to an existing POL for physical items. When we order from our main book supplier, POLs are created automatically via the API. I can't link the request to those POLs, and instead have to reject them and personally email the requester to tell them that it's not actually been rejected. Being able to link a request to an existing POL would be very useful.

Yes, this would be very, very helpful! One of the key uses for quick cataloging is adding personal copies for reserve, and a lot of the time this is media. Our reserves folks are not catalogers and asking them to edit MARC records is outside the scope of their work or comfort level.

Another area of functionality that would be very appreciated is how Alma deals with multi-year subscriptions. It should only encumber funds in the year the subscription needs to be renewed, not in every year that the subscription is open.

The 'Claimed Returned' action will be available for lost loans. It will change the loan status to 'claimed returned'.
A customer parameter will determine whether the change to claimed returned should trigger a 'Find Item' action (and refund the lost item fees) + change to 'claim return', or only change to 'claim return'.

Yes, the fact that you can't change a Lost loan to Claimed Returned seems to completely defy the logic of when you would even need to use this feature at a circ desk.

The “ignore_lender_due_date” parameter will be handled as a default value. A configuration option on the partner record will enable to override its value.

Hi,
The login for an account that is managed in an external IdP (such as a Shibboleth IdP), is done by the IdP and not by Alma. Alma does not control the success of this type of login.
Alma does control the login status if the user record is internal, i.e. its password is managed in Alma. In that case, we will indeed allow the login to succeed even if the user is expired.
The user record status will be verified when calculating:
- GetIt services (hold/digitization/resource sharing)
- My Account renew loan option
In either case, the account will be considered active only if:
- The user record status is active
- The user record expiry date is not in the past
- The user’s patron role is active
- The user’s patron role’s expiry date is not in the past
The login, however, will not be affected by these conditions.
Thank you,

I also support changing the functionality on the Return Items page so that multiple scans DO NOT record in-house. Staff regularly scan things in multiple times to make sure that items have been returned, so our in-house use counts are meaningless. It would be much better if in-house uses were ONLY counted on the Scan In Items page, when it is intentional.
