Converting Greek letters in queries for local materials
When queries include Greek letters with diacritics, the retrieval omits many local records, as there is no conversion in Primo VE between letters with or without diacritics, or with different diacritics.
Example:
Searching ἄγω or αγω gives different results. CDI records are retrieved regardless, while local records can only be retrieved in the exact manner they were cataloged.Using a blended search (local+CDI) can confuse patrons, as it may lead them to believe the library does not have certain materials. Using a local search scope, patrons sometimes receive zero results, so many records are hidden from them.

Freeze the top level resource type filters on NDE so they continue to appear as the user scrolls through their search results
Currently on NDE the top level availability facets are fixed in place even when a user scrolls down their results list, however the resource type facets above these disappear from view when the user scrolls down the page. We would suggest also keeping these fixed in place and visible to the user as they scroll so they have a constant quick visual reminder of what they have filtered to.

In Primo Research Assistant, please add the ability to pre-select filters. Specifically, we need to pre-select the available online filter.

Confusing screen navigation for digital file in Primo NDE
Hi,
For a digital file, e.g.
https://julac-cuhk.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/852JULAC_CUHK/ljhnov/alma991040538347003407When clicking Online access, it jumps down to Digital Versions section. When clicking the digital viewer icon, it jumps up to Digital Content section. Screen navigation is very confusing.
It is more natural that when clicking the digital viewer icon, the digital file (Digital Content section) can be shown below it, or somewhere related. But it is not possible to move the Digital Content section position at all.
Please see attachment for details.
Thanks,
Howard

Force user to scroll to the end of Copyright statement
Hi,
For a digital record in NDE, after expanding "Digital Content", it show a Copyright statement. User can tick the checkbox and click Confirm without scrolling the Copyright statement.
Is it possible to force the user to scroll down to the end of the Copyright statement before the user can tick the checkbox?
Example record:

Suppress controlled vocabulary expansion notification when expansion has no impact on results
When a search triggers controlled vocabulary expansion but the expansion term contributes zero results, Primo VE still displays the message informing the user that the search has been expanded, and offers a link to disable the expansion (conVoc=false).
Clicking this link produces no observable change in the result set, since the expansion was not contributing any results in the first place.
This creates a confusing experience for the user:
1. The system implies the search was meaningfully expanded
2. The user is offered the option to opt out
3. Opting out has no visible effectProposed improvement:

In the NDE, reinstate the option to include a link to RefWorks in the User Account menu
In Primo VE, the option exists to include a link to the RefWorks platform in the User Account menu drop-down. Ex Libris Support have confirmed that this is not currently an option in the Primo NDE

NDE- Links should be visually different from regular text (for example, with underlines) so users can clearly identify clickable elements.
Primo NDE - The linked values in records, for example under “Creator” and “Subject” are not visually differentiated from plain text. Consider underlining hyperlinks (or applying another consistent link style) so users can more easily identify interactive elements.

Metadata from Database Link Resolver into the Resource Sharing request form
Allow more metadata from Database Link Resolver into the Resource Sharing request form to ensure the library staff can more easily fulfill the request and patrons are well-informed through notifications of the exact item they have requested - for example a specific chapter from a multi-chapter book written or edited by someone other than the chapter's author. Having the Book Title, Chapter Title, Book Editor/Author, and Chapter Author would be helpful especially for our faculty patrons.

Code free Primo Customizations - Like modern web builders that allow customization without knowing html and css coding.
A lot of web builders have the ability to create fully functional web sites with fully editable text, images, colors, fonts, etc. so that users don't need to know any coding language, like WIX... it'd be great to see that kind of ease of use when configuring Primo NDE for things like background images, quick link boxes, custom text fields, etc.

Discovery collections per library and unfiltered view
In our consortium we have some mixed IZs, which means different libraries, mostly in the same geographical area, that are part of the same IZ.
Users accessing via the local library interface are interested mainly in that specific library Discovery collection. But at the same time they might be also interested to know if a resource is available in the near by libraries, as it could be easily accessible physically or to request it.
We have activated the relevant configurations and Discovery collections displays correctly for the specific libraries only. But when the view is filtered and "Local copy unavailable"…33 votes -
Direct linking from Full record in Primo
Within the full record display in Primo VE, the available online link should take the user directly to the resource, not to another field in the full record where users can then link out to the resource.

Make advanced search and natural language search terms visible for Primo NDE in portrait view of mobile phone devices
At present, when a user undertakes a Natural Language search or Advanced Search in Primo NDE on a mobile phone in portrait mode, the search query is not displayed however this is being displayed when viewed in landscape mode.
User's may not know to change the orientation of their device to see this information.
Support case #10573480 created with ExLibris responding as follows:
"Due to UX considerations and current UI limitations in the mobile view, the advanced query search terms are not displayed. This behavior also applies to natural language searches. At this time, there are no plans to change…3 votes -
Responsive label "item in place/not in place" for open shelf items
Our available items in open rack cannot be requested for local pickup but this is confusing for patrons as there is a physical request button (only for a Transit request - the Owning Library is missing as pickup location). Only for items NOT in place and items in STACKS, the Owning Library is an additional Pickup location.
As the option for local pickup for open shelf items depends on the availability and location (item in place/item not in place), we would like to change this label and add information about requestability and access to items (see image attached). But this…

Restore the "Other" A–Z browse category for Journal Search in Primo VE/NDE
Primo Classic Journal Search includes an Other browse category for journal titles beginning with punctuation or other non-alphabetic characters. Primo VE and the NDE Journal Search currently provide only 0–9 and A–Z, leaving journals whose titles begin with punctuation without an intuitive browse location. Please restore the Other browse option (or otherwise provide equivalent access) to maintain feature parity with Primo Classic and ensure all journal titles are discoverable through browsing.
Some titles that might make good examples for this would be:
@Tic : revista innovació educative
+E

Provide confirmation when item has been added to a reading list
In both Primo VE and Primo NDE, no confirmation is given to the user after adding a title to a reading list. The Add to Reading List box simply closes with no indication about what has occurred.
Recommend adding a status message so that users are aware the item has been successfully added, avoiding uncertainty and potential repeated actions.

Primo VE : Alignment of Unimarc normalization rules with Marc21 normalization rules for the creation of the author facet
The current OTB normalization rules for the creator/contributor facet in Primo VE differ between Marc21 and Unimarc records. Unimarc rules consider more elements than Marc21, leading to inconsistencies and duplicate facets for the same author.
For example, from personal name fields (fields 70#), Exlibris uses the entry element, the part of name, the qualifier, Roman numerals and dates (a, b, c, d, f) for “Personal name” responsibility statements. In Marc 21, only the entry element is retained (a).Key Issues:
…1- Duplicate Facets: Two facets are created for the same author, one based on Unimarc and the other on Marc21.73 votes
