Add DOI and PMID to Advanced Search Indexes in Primo VE
DOI and PMID searching can be augmented for enhancement in keyword searching in Primo VE, so that these identifiers can be searches as keywords. It would be very helpful to our researchers to be able to more efficiently and exactly search within Advanced Search fields for DOI and PMID. These fields can be searched within unique fields in the Citation Linker, so the indexes exist, but they are not available for inclusion in Advanced Search settings. We would like to be able to add DOI and PMID as options in Advanced Search settings in Primo VE.

Add Due Date/other Variables to Real Time Availability Status in Brief Records
November 2020 Primo VE release broadened the Availability Status messages in Brief Results. Our library would like to be able to further enhance the Status messages to include Due Dates, where applicable. Example: add date to Not available - Loan message, something along the lines of Not available - Checked out until {date}.

Journal A-Z and Database A-Z functionality based on a campus scope.
On our current Primo we have Journal A-Z and Database A-Z functionality based on a campus scope. This is due to us having two Primo views - one for Cardiff University and one for NHS Wales. We share a catalogue but have created the ability for our users to search in Primo on a dedicated view depending on their affiliation; so that they receive search results only for items to which they have access. This split in search results includes the A-Z listings. And it is all based around a campus scope. We have been told that for our move…

In Primo VE and in consortial Alma setup, display print and electronic inventory even if dedupe/frbr is enabled
In a consortial Alma setup with a Network Zone and with Primo VE, our consortia has noticed that if an Institution Zone (IZ) has enabled dedupe/frbr in a Primo View and there is print and electronic inventory for a title, the print inventory of other IZ’s is completely hidden and only the electronic displays.
See “enabled dedupe frbr1.png” https://wrlc-gwu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?query=any,contains,doing%20bayesian%20data%20analysis%20a%20tutorial%20with%20r%20jags%20and%20stan&tab=WRLCPMyInstAll&searchscope=WRLCPMyInstAll&vid=01WRLCGWA:test&offset=0
As you can see in “enabled dedupe frbr2.png” only the electronic inventory displays.
https://wrlc-gwu.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/permalink/01WRLC_GWA/1b1hkge/alma9912376416404101Compare with an IZ in the same consortia which has disabled dedupe/frbr to prove that physical inventory exists.

Ability to run a real blank blank search with facets visible
In Summon it's possible to run a real blank blank search where you get all hits from Primo displayed with facets. From that you can refine your search to for example language. It means if you go to Primo or VE it should be possible to press the search button to get this blank blank search with facets. In other words, a blank search without using asterisk: *.

Primo VE: Please add 773x to the index on ISSN
When searching on ISSN in Primo, not only journals are found, but also articles because articles in CDI have a data field ISSN.
This is not the case for locally catalogued articles because following the MARC standard, the ISSN of the journal is catalogued in tag 773$x.
Not only are locally catalogued articles not found when searching on ISSN, but also the facet on Journal title doesn't work for these local articles.
Therefor, our question is to add tag 773$x to the index on ISSN to allow for a consistent search experience for local articles and CDI articles.16 votes -
We couldn't link a digital object to a reading list from our repository (DSpace).
We found it very interesting that PRIMO could link a digital object from our DSpace repository to a reading list.
Currently, this is only possible if we add the citation to the repository in ALMA and it is generating repeated references (since it collects our DSpace).
It would be desirable that Primo to be able to view citations from reading lists that are not in the Alma repository.90 votesWe’d appreciate if you can provide examples and explain more on the workflow for this idea

Display all blocks and patron limits in Primo My Account
The My Account page in Primo only displays blocks of the blocks tab in the Alma user details page so that a patron who logs in Primo and unsuccessfully attemps to renew an item from the library isn’t notified about blocks that are applied based on patron limits/ library-definied rules such as maximum cash limit. The My Account page should display all blocks.

Navigation within My Favorites should be more user-friendly
Navigation within My Favorites is tedious: When a favorite is removed or when the list is relabeled, you always go to the top of the list instead of the original starting point.

Options for applying Primo Dedup process selectively
We want options that can prevent two Alma BIBs from being merged by Primo Dedup Process.
It could be an option per pipe or local record, or any better method. (Related SF Case# 00872193, etc.)e.g.)
* Alma-P : Dedup OFF
* Alma-E : Dedup ON
* CDI : Dedup ON
.
.
.Currently Primo runs dedup process for all records. (Please correct me if I am wrong.)
It is a necessary and useful function for electronic resources - especially for articles- but sometimes not for local print materials.Catalogers decide whether to maintain separate BIBs or to merge…

Usage Statistics view on the Library Search/Primo for Alma D
We know we can run usage statistics via alma analytics. The usage report is for the internal library staff to decide on different collections. I want to propose to add the functionality to Alma D, where everyone will see the usage report on Primo in a different facet. This is an essential feature, especially for the end-users. If the function is added, the end-users will be able to see the statistical report about the document/resource, i.e., When was the document/resource last used?

Combine search sets
Please create the ability to combine active search set results in Primo VE.
For instance:
I performed an Advanced search for author stern and keyword difficult. (Search set 1)I then perform a search for author stern and libraries. (Search set 2)
I would like to be able to say in Search History: (search set 1) not (search set 2)
I do not see a way to use previous search strings to create more complex strategic combinations.
(This obviously becomes more important as I add additional lines of searches that would require various combinations.)

Primo VE link should open in
In Primo Classic, main menu links have an option to open links in current windows or new window/tab. In Primo VE links open into a new tab, it would be good to have the option to open a new search in the current window.

Implement Just in Time (JIT) SAML provisioning for Primo Classic
JIT SAML provisioning is supported for Alma and Primo VE, but currently not for Primo Classic. IWe would like to see this functinality implemented for Primo Classic as well.

Add 956 field to the Links area of the Detailed record
Currently the only links that display from the bib record are in the 856 with a 4 in the first indicator. We'd like the ability to show 956 links, for local information like digital library links.

Sort by library in the Location facet when library name is configured to display
When the option to display the library name in the Location facet is configured, we would like the Location facet to be sorted alphabetically by library.
Currently, the facet list is sorted by location, which means that results for the same library are scattered among the list. For a user it would make more sense to have all the locations from the same library listed together.

Customizable RIS mapping table for Primo VE
In Primo, customers could customize the RIS export table, to determine what PNX fields should be used for RIS fields. In Primo VE this is not possible:
The mapping of the RIS fields to PNX fields is as follows:
IS addata/issue
TY addata/ristype
N2 addata/abstract
N1 addata/notes
PB addata/publisher
A2 display/contributor
ET addata/edition
KW display/subject
EP addata/epage
DO addata/doi
PY addata/date ; display/creationdate
JA addata/stitle
VL addata/volume
CY addata/cop
AU display/creator
T3 addata/seriestitle
T2 addata/addtitle
T1 display/title
SP Addata/spage
JF Addata/jtitle
ID Alma MMS ID
SN Addata/issn; addata/isbn; addata/eissn; addata/eisbnAs most reference managers will read A2 as Series Editor,…

Include call number for physical items in Excel / CSV Export
Thank you for adding the option to export results in Primo to Excel and CSV.
Please could the call number for physical items be added as an extra column in the export. When clients export results from Primo, their intention is also to look for those items that are physical on the shelves and without the call number, they again have to access each record's link to obtain the call number.

Recommender for standing expressions (that have little or nothing in common with an actual title)
We are switching from Ebsco Discovery Service EDS to Primo VE this year. One functionality that EDS offers - and that seems to be lacking in Primo VE - is the Item Exact Match Recommender https://cloud.ebsco.com/apps/item-exact-match-recommender-custom-data-file-driven
We use this mainly for documents that are widely known by a standing expression that will not help when doing a search for this expression with Primo.
Examples:
1) "Metzger" refers to the document "Lern- und Arbeitsstrategien" by Christoph Metzger. No one knows the title, but everybody knows the standing expression.
2) Decisions by the Swiss Supreme Court, "Bundesgerichtsentscheide" - hardly anyone knows that…6 votes
