User name in the personal details tab
I'm wondering is it possibility to add a user name in the “personal details” tab, in one of the marked places in the screenshot (PVEMyLibraryCardAdditionalConfigOptions.png)? I tried to do it with a JavaScript Dynamic Directive, however I can't find the variable with the user name.

Stop the Alma link resolver from matching e-books and print bibs that aren't the same ed.
At present, if we have a 2nd ed e-book and a 2nd ed print (that is 2nd ed., EMEA ed.) of the same title, Primo is linking them when they are actually different editions. Ex Libris says this is because of matching via title and author and that the option to cancel this kind of match of a specific record isn't available. it would be good if we could unlink them in the Primo record

More DEDUP keys
The implementation of the FRBR keys is affected by the DEDUP keys, so it would be desirable to add a new key in the DEDUP keys that includes the label 250.

Cross-Institution favorites
In a consortial environment, we would like to see favorites shared across institutions.
Currently, favorites from institution A are only visible when logged into institution A but not when logged into institution B and vice versa.
Our desired behaviour would be that all favorites from all institutions are shown, regardless of which institution a user is logged in to.

Option to specify different price categories in the Request Sharing form
Depending on where the library can obtain a document ordered by interlibrary loan, our patrons have to pay different fees (price categories in our case: 1. from Swiss libraries, 2. from Europe, 3. from overseas). Our patrons should be able to specify in the ILL form up to which category they are willing to pay the costs. Unfortunately, in Primo VE it is only possible to display the field “Maximum fee”, in which patrons can enter any amount they wish. In our experience, customers do not understand the meaning of this field and do not know what to enter there,…

Holding and coverage details in brief record display for physical records
Primo VE can show the title, general physical availability, and other details in the brief record display of a given record, but it lacks the ability to show coverage information that's contained in a holding record. All current details that Primo VE can show appear to be either bibliographic or system data, but not holding record data. We'd like to have this kind of coverage information available to users at a glance without their needing to enter a record to see which issues/years/etc. of an item that we have.

Display only the last entered Date Range facet
When a person refines a date a second time in Primo, Primo simply displays an additional date facet in the Active Filters area. For example, a person initially filters a search to Years: 1919-2025 and then decides to filter again by Years: 2024-2025. Instead of removing the first date facet and replacing it with the second, Primo simply adds the second facet underneath the first facet. This does not make sense and presents a usability problem for the end user. In all other cases, when two facets are used within the same category, they are to be regarded as having…

Research Assistant: make filter button more noticeable
It appears to us that several of our users of the Research Assistant don't notice the filter option left to the search box. Our request is to make the filter button more noticeable, e.g. by making it blue like the arrow to the left of the search box and by and by providing a mouse-over text.

User-defined favorite libraries that get preferential ranking in the Brief Display, the Get It section and Libraries facet
The idea is to introduce a new feature: "Favorite Libraries". In the Library Card, patrons could select their favorite library or libraries (regardless of the IZ to which they are affiliated to, in case of a consortium). Consequently, in the Brief Display, this choice influence the ranking of the records, in the GetIt section, the system first displays items from the selected favorite library(ies) on top. In the facet "libraries" where results are sorted by library, the system would display the favorite libraries on top, before other libraries.

"Peer reviewed" for academic books
Currently, there is a limiter in discovery to "Peer-reviewed articles" but using this limiter does not bring results from books even by the most celebrated academic publishers. While this information arrives from vendors, there should be a way to search peer-reviewed publications that would exclude magazines but include both peer-reviewed journals and books (or book chpaters) by any academic press.

Include eBooks in Browse by Call Number Search
I would love to see eBooks (that have call numbers, of course) included in Browse by Call Number search results – or have a way to toggle their inclusion/exclusion in results. We spend a fortune on eBooks but they're excluded from this search. It seems many of our eBooks have a call number as they appear in the shelf carousel on item records.
A keyword search is enough to bring up resources for typical undergraduate assignments, but many faculty want their students to know about the information landscape of their area/field that call numbers provide. This is unquestionably important for…

FRBR generic: make display of the generic record customizable
We use FRBR generic (in Primo VE) because we deem FRBR preferred to be too confusing for our patrons.
We can't fix the duplicate display of contributors' names.
Example:
https://basel.swisscovery.org/discovery/search?query=any,contains,Homer%27s%20Iliad%20translated%20by%20Richmond%20Lattimore&tab=UBS&search_scope=UBS&vid=41SLSP_UBS:live&lang=en&offset=0, see also screenshot.Lattimore is displayed three times, Martin twice.
As this is supposed to be a generic display, no contributors should be displayed here.
We got the following response from Ex Libris in our case:
"
With the 'Generic record' option enabled, when conducting a search in Primo, in the list of results for a FRBR group, you will see a very generic record which is hardcoded and…33 votes -
Make advanced search form expandable/collapsable with discovery setting
The advanced search form now collapses after a search is performed. While this was an implemented enhancement request, there are times when expanding the form is more useful to patrons. For example, displaying collection records and allowing users to search within those results.
It would be helpful to either have a configurable discovery setting that allows the form to stay expanded or collapsed by default, or have a URL parameter to force the form to expand or collapse as needed.

Primo Header is cut off at a certain Window Size
When one reduces the size of the browser window, the button for the advanced search moves into the “hidden” menu. Right before it disappears, it is cut off and can no longer be read. Furthermore horizontal scrolling is required in order to visually grasp the other menu items such as "Login" and "Menu". As far as we could check, this affects a browser window size from around 600px to 800px.
This does not depend on local CSS modifications. It is a general UX issue that affects responsive design and furthermore is breaking with the WCAG accessibility guidelines (WCAG 2.1, 1.4.10, …

Add ability to display item status in locations list in Get It section
Currently, the locations list displays a holdings summary for each location. To view the status of held items, users must click into each location's details. It would streamline the user journey if the item status (item in place, on loan, on order, etc.) could be displayed within the locations list itself, in addition to the holdings summary.

Suppress blank yellow box in "View It" section
Currently, when there are no online access links in the "View It" section on the full details page, a blank yellow box appears. Can this be suppressed when there are no links to display?
We receive numerous problem reports each year from students who are confused. Thank you!

Newest Edition Flag in Primo
Similar to the Newest Edition flag in Rialto search results, having an indicator in Primo which shows the user which edition of the book is the most recently published/newest edition. Picture included of the Rialto example.

Add support for custom repositories for citation styles
It's possible to manage and include additional citation style languages, which are stored in GitHub’s CSL Style Repository but they have a huge backlog to add new styles. It would be better if Ex Libris add support for custom repositories for citation styles.

Make alternative text for book covers and icons in results more meaningful
To improve accessibility for users of screen readers, please enhance the alternative text for images in Primo search results. In the brief results list, each image in the results has "Image 1", "Image 2", etc. as alt text. The cover in the full display has "Image" as the alt text. I saw in the Primo Accessibility Roadmap https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Product_Materials/Primo_Accessibility/Primo_Accessibility_Roadmap
that Alternative Text is a checkpoint on the road map (1.1.1.a), but Ex Libris Tech Support said that checkpoint does not include these images.3 votes
