  1. Display item policy in item record

It would be useful if item policy could be configured as a field to display in either the brief or full item display. Currently, the loanable indicator is defined by the fulfillment terms of use, which is dependent on users signing in in order for Primo to calculate the loan policy specifically for that user.

Having the option to display the item policy from Alma as a field in Primo would be beneficial as this does not change dependent on the user type or fulfillment rules. It would also provide more information to users irrespective of whether they are able…

  2. Filter journal holdings that can fulfill the request for an article

If an user has found an article that is not available electronic, but the library has the journal in print, the end user gets the list of holdings for the journal and can go into a specific holding to see the items.

In general we would like that when the end user has found an article they should only need to click on Request (or Digitize) and all relevant metadata are sent to Alma and the system selects the correct item to fulfill the request. If locate is not possible the librarian has enough information to work on the request.

In order to assist our patrons and improve the overall UX, once the patron found the desired article, the system will filter the holdings search results based on the article’s metadata (Year) to present the patron with the most relevant holdings and from there assist the patron to request the desired item.

This enhancement has been added to our roadmap and will be available to PrimoVE customers.

    Thanks,
    Noam

  3. Limit autocomplete-suggestions from PCI/CDI to activated sources

In Primo you can activate autocomplete to get suggestions for search-queries based on what the end-user begins to type in the search-box.

We have tested the functionality and see that it could be useful for the end user to get these suggestions. However we see that the suggestions from the central index in some cases are a little strange and that you get suggestions from the entire index and not only the sources the institution has activated. This means that the end-user could get suggestions that gives 0 results.

If you get a suggestion that leads to nothing you will…

  4. Relevancy sorting in FRBR version list display should use terms searched

FRBR groups and the display of versions within them does not consider the relevancy of the terms searched. Often a user is searching for a specific version within the FRBR group (ex: Homer's Iliad translated by Richmond Lattimore) but there is no way to focus in on this version within the list of FRBR versions. Even when users search specifically for terms: Iliad Lattimore, Lattimore is hidden within search results. Within the list of FRBR versions, sorting by Relevancy should use the terms searched by the user -- this should enable the works of a single translator (like Lattimore) to…

Thank you for posting this idea. The direction that we are thinking to implement is to highlight at the top of the list of versions the record that user came from. so users will have the same context of their search when they are viewing the entire list of versions.

  5. Collection Discovery usage in Primo Analytics

Currently, Analytics possibilities for "Collection Discovery" are rather limited. With action “Display a Collection”, you can for example see how many times your collections (all together) have been displayed, added to favorites... in a period of time, but you cannot see which collections are the most and the less successful, what materials should maybe be more promoted, which collection should maybe be removed because its content is maybe of too little interest, which collections are added to favorites, etc.

Therefore, we would like Collection IDs and Collection Names to be transferred to Primo Analytics. Additionally, if this could also be…

  6. New books Carousel

Hello, we all saw EDS New books Carousel and liked it.
We want Ex Libris to develop new books carousel for Primo customers. please look at AUR Library - The American University of Rome page [https://www.aur.edu/], from the university main page choose the library and you'll get to EDS.
I'm attaching a screen capture of the library home page with the new books carousel.
    Thank you!

  7. Enable creation of Carousel widgets for collections

We would love to be able to create scrolling carousels to highlight collections, and embed them in other platforms (LibGuides, webpages, etc.) We see examples of this kind of carousel within Primo VE records, for materials that are in Collection Discovery (aka Digital Collections); at the bottom of the record there is a feature labeled "More from the same collection" with a link to the full collection in Collection Discovery as well as a scrolling carousel of images with the book jacket images and links to the other titles. We would like to be able to embed this kind of…

  8. Add LC Classification Facet to PrimoVE Facet options

Back Office has the option to enable the LC Classification facet to Primo, however, Primo VE does not. This facet is heavily used in our Summon instance and we would like to see this behavior port over into VE.

Thank you for posting this idea!
Adding LC Classification facet is planned for Q4 2019 as part of the feature alignment plans.

  9. Provide PCI collection batch updator (e.g. uploading .xlsx files, etc.)

PCI collections can be activated/inactivated one by one manually. It's too time-consuming and inefficient to repeat search-click-tick-back-search-again.
Please provide a batch update function, such as, uploading an .xlsx file, etc.

Thank you for this idea. With the move to CDI coming in 2020 the current interface for Primo Central activation will become obsolete, Activation for CDI will be handled from Alma and SFX in a single activation process and simplified flow

  10. Div before the search-results

Similar to the top-bar-before doc that Ex Libris did for alerts, I would like a search-results-before div for customizations. When loading flex components in the after div and reversing the order through css, the interface loads the component and the customization jumps to the top of the search results list.

I would like to build a resourceType based super-facet tab set which users could use as a filter - starting with All, Articles, Books, Book Chapters, etc. the load order problem makes it look like components are shuffling around during load...
