Enhance "Quick Access" Section in Primo VE to Display All Files Linked to a Representation
Currently, in Primo VE, the "Quick Access" section within the detailed results page of digital titles displays only the first file linked to a representation. Users are required to open a full-screen viewer, where they can navigate through the additional files using a file navigation pane on the left. While there are arrows in the "Quick Access" section which allow users to navigate between files, this functionality is not always intuitive, and it is not immediately apparent that additional files exist beyond the first one.
To improve user experience and accessibility, I propose an enhancement to the "Quick Access" section…50 votesHi all,
This is planned to be handled in the new Primo Discovery Experience (NDE), by embedding the Digital viewer in the full display page - so all digital files will be accessible via the full record page.

Yael.

Option to highlight active tabs in Primo top pane
We would like the option to highlight active tabs in the Primo top pane. At present, it is not clear which tab is in use. Highlighting of active tabs supports navigation and improves user experience, but there is currently no easy way to implement this. Including an option to do so, for example via CSS, would be helpful.

My Library Card: Option to hide Personal Details
It should be possible to hide Personal Details section under My Account in Primo VE.
We are able to disable the labels in the following, but seems no option to hide the Personal Details section. Even if we disabled the labels for this tab, it is not completely disable from appearing or being clickable.
- Configuration > Discovery > Display Configuration > Labels > All code Tables > Library card Labels
- Configuration > Discovery > Library Card Configuration > Personal Details Configuration
Also, Primo Technical Support Analysts already confirmed the personal details section cannot be hidden using CSS. So we post…

Allow HTML coding for all labels
Hi
Please allow HTML coding for all labels.
Including URLs via a href when the label isn't used as a link already. This is working for a few labels, but far from all.

Make it easier to re-order Primo display details in Full Record Services
When configuring the order of "details" fields in Configuration -> Discovery -> Configure Views: [View Profile] -> Full Record Services: Details, Alma users are only able to re-order fields by moving them up or down one table entry at a time. Anytime you add a new field, it's added to the end of the list by default. In our case, we have almost 50 different display fields, and if we want that new field to appear near the top of the list, we have to scroll down and click the Up arrow for that field 50 times to bring it…

Collection Discovery: allow searching subcollections' contents at the collection level
Currently, when a user searches in a collection, Primo only returns objects that are directly located under this collection, ignoring any contents located in subcollections. This means that the user needs to open each subcollection and do the search again to discover all objects included in the collection. This is cumbersome and counter-intuitive. We would like that the search results also include objects and subcollections located at lower levels in the hierarchy.

Search box should be on all pages (including the records pages) in Primo - so you don’t have to go back to the main search screen

Collection discovery - sub collection searches
We welcome the enhanced searching on the top level of collection discovery however we have found we also need full searching over our nested sub collections. This is not only useful for users of PrimoVE but also for local data scopes as we require them to accurately include sub collections in search profiles.

Primo VE: Re-instate the A-Z browse function for DATABASES
Re-instate an A-Z browse option for Primo VE Database Search, like the one available for Primo Classic.

Move the Sort by options to top of results
We would like the Sort by option to be at the top of screen, for consistency with other databases. Users are used to seeing Sorting options at the top of the page. These options are hard to locate within the other filtering options in the panel to the left/right of the Primo results.

Allow CDI records and external resources to be added to Alma collections for Primo Collection Discovery
We appreciate being able to create curated collections of Alma records to highlight lists of recommended reading and similar tools in Primo VE Collection Discovery. Sometimes we have a title that we’d love to include in these lists, but then find that a record exists only in CDI but not Alma. This is true for certain video collections, for example, that have database-type collections in Alma (no portfolios). There may also be single external resources (websites, etc.) that we'd also like to highlight. Currently there is no way to add CDI records nor single external resources to these collections. You…

Improve indexing of in press articles in CDI
The Central Discovery Index (CDI) includes many in press articles (i.e., articles that have been accepted for publication in a future issue). However, because these records do lack a pub date, volume, or issue number, the Alma link resolver cannot reliably determine whether an institution has access to these articles. We ask that Ex Libris improve they way in press articles are indexed in CDI so that the link resolver does not return false positives for content the library does not actually own.
453 votesFor full transparency, the commitment we made for this idea is to do the analysis for this feature in 2024. Based on that analysis, we will craft a solution that we can deliver in early 2025. We will keep you updated via this idea.

Add very compact display option, 1 row per title
Please add a really compact additional display option
– 1 row per title
– no iconto allow an overview / quick scanning of long result lists.
When I do a search on my laptop, I see two titles on the result list and the start of a third.
Default number of results for the compact display should be 100 or more.
And it should be a setting in the patron account.

Remove CDI constant expansion of results
PCI results respect that a user knows what they want, but help with expansion when necessary, such as by stemming when there are very few results returned by the exact query. A user has autonomy also to target their results with techniques such as quotation marks, Boolean operators, and Advanced Search.
In CDI, expansion is constant, by term inflection applied to all searches, as well as higher recall in general by design. This cannot be prevented by features such as Boolean operators, quotation marks or Advanced Search, and is illogical in conjunction with other features like 'Did you mean'.

Visually Indicate Boolean AND Grouping of Facets
This is in reaction to a discussion on the mailing list ("[Primo] facets - issue with selecting one-by-one vs. multiple") and to have an idea for the other option (in contrast to [0]) to resolve the dilemma described there:
Instead of changing the system behavior it would be good to indicate what is happening. In general it makes sense that after selecting one facet, looking at the results and deciding to add another facet that the boolean connection of these two facets will be "AND", while selecting some facets in one go is likely intended to be an "OR".

Library Card page
I think it would more user-focused if the "Library Card" dashboard listed all of the requests and loans in one spot, regardless of the lending library. Many users are unaware of which library they've requested an item through - it would be nice if there was only one dashboard for patrons to check on the status of everything in one spot.

Add ability to select multiple options on Advanced Search drop down menus in Primo VE
It is not currently possible to select multiple options on an Advanced Search drop down menu is Primo VE (ex: Material Type, Language); this functionality would be very helpful for users who wish to do more precise searching -- especially since Primo VE lacks the functionality of combining search results. This functionality is the HTML select multiple attribute (https://www.w3schools.com/tags/att_select_multiple.asp)

Provide option to collapse the Details area of the full record display
We would like to be able to collapse the Details area of the full record display by default in order to reduce clutter. This ability would be configurable ie libraries could choose whether to hide or show by default the Details information.
If configured, we would like to see the heading 'Details' beside a chevron or similar icon that indicates information is hidden. When the user clicks on this icon, the full bibliographic details will appear.

Collection Discovery display items in a list view
Currently Collection Discovery only offers users the ability to view collections as a Grid or a Gallery. These displays provide extremely limited information about the items making it impossible for users to decide which items they'd like to view.
Please add the ability for users to view collection items as a list, similar to the search results view. This list view would present each record one after the other with basic bibliographic information such as title, author/creator, resource type, date.70 votesHello,
