  1. Allow Alma users to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool to link portfolios to a community zone collection.

    The ‘Link to Community’ match routine for matching local portfolios to the CZ is too restrictive. We would like to be able to use our local bibliographic records and have them link to portfolios in the CZ, however, the match rate is dependent on what metadata is available in the CZ records, which are often brief and do not contain the ISSN/ISBN match point that Ex Libris has selected for that collection in the CZ.
    Alma users should be able to choose the match routine when using the ‘Link to Community’ tool, similar to how we can choose the match…

  2. Add vendor UTB to Upload Electronic Holdings workflow

    The vendor UTB has already e-collections in CZ which have dozens of activations in the EMEA region. We've already contacted the vendor, and they would be willing to implement the Upload Electronic Holdings workflow.

  3. Configure our default option to “Keep local descriptive metadata” when linking local portfolios to CZ at the Institution level

    Currently, the default option is set to "Use descriptive metadata from the community," and our staff need to manually select the option "Keep local descriptive metadata" every time a portfolio is linked to CZ. Relying on manual updates introduces human error, and fixing these errors requires considerable effort and staff time. Therefore, we propose the inclusion of a user-configurable option that will allow institutions to set their preferred source of descriptive metadata as the default (either CZ or local) when linking portfolios in Alma. This will allow institutions greater control over their processes and will minimize the burden on ExLibris…

  4. Flag individual articles in Alma as being unavailable.

    ExLibris cannot verify accuracy between supplied metadata and a referenced database. As a result, there are times when an article is listed in Primo as available online; However, when the patron tries to retrieve the article, the database returns a not found error. This has been frustrating for our patrons.
    Currently there is no way to flag an individual article as being unavailable. As a result, this becomes a recurring error for our patrons; with no option to correct.

    1. flag individual articles as available / not available by database

  5. Add filter for presence of POL to electronic collections portfolio lists

    Currently, the only way to determine which portfolios in an electronic collection have an attached POL is to export the portfolio list and check column Z "Orders" in the Excel file. You must then search each portfolio individually to act upon its POL. A filter in the portfolio list for "POL attached" would be much more efficient.

  6. When CZ update "Portfolio bibliographic record updated" runs, if POL is attached to portfolio & bib, automatically move POL to new bib

    When we order a portfolio, the PO Line attaches to both the portfolio and the bibliographic record attached to the portfolio (this is good; it's how Alma works by design). Every week, there are numerous "Portfolio bibliographic record updated" tasks on the CZ Updates Task List. This means that the portfolio has moved to a different bib record. When "Portfolio bibliographic record updated" happens, the portfolio moves to a new bib. The POL remains attached to the portfolio (which is good!). However, the POL is not moved to the new bib record; it remains attached to the old bib record.…

  7. Display only one of each resource recommender type

    Currenlty the default is two of the first listed Type listed in Resource Recommender displays in PrimoVE. Would like to change it so that just one of each type of Resource Recommender displays to diversify results patron sees on page.

  9. Ability to exclude Primo Journal Search from display logic rules

    We would like the ability to exclude the Journal Search function from display logic rules.
    Why?
    In the Primo view the limit of links is set to 25, and it cannot be reduced (which deserves another Idea....). The only way to reduce it is through the user of display logic rules.
    However, the rules also apply to the "Journal Search" in Primo, where users actually want to see all the available full text due to differences in coverage.

  11. group settings

    NZ Group Settings listing: When updating Group Settings in the NZ, once I save a change to a library's group settings, it jumps to a new position. It makes it confusing when you are updating multiple libraries and they jump around so you don't know which ones are completed and which still need updating. I've missing updating libraries because the settings move around.

  12. Batch Clear Local Information from Community Zone

    Sometimes local information is added to a portfolio because the community zone updates are still pending. It would be helpful to have the option to clear the local coverage info as a batch process from the Community Zone Updates Task List

  14. Assign to

    In the "Electronic Resource Activation Task List" the list can only be assigned to specific users (or unassigned so everyone can see it), it would be nice to be able to assign it to a group of people, (perhaps by user role profiles, or a new profile type of 'group user' that links other profiles together, like user role profiles) as different tasks fall on different areas of the department.

    This would also be helpful in "Reading Lists Task List", as in our case it is location specific handling of the tasks.

  15. Add manual Cost to Portfolios

    Add the ability to assign a cost to a portfolio manually in the case that cost should not be equally distributed for the portfolios in a collection and/or items that were purchased prior to Alma implementation. This cost would need to be used in Cost per use analytics calculations if there isn't a PO Cost for the portfolio

  16. Alma Community Zone collection for Brepols open access ebooks

    Brepols Publishing publishes open access ebooks and I am interested in making them discoverable via Primo VE. Alma’s Community Zone does not have a distinct collection for this content. Information about the books, along with an option to export the titles into an Excel spreadsheet, is available at https://www.brepols.net/products?p=1&r=12&s=&v=thumbview&q=$Availability:Open%20Access;$ProductType:Book

    Creating a Brepols Open Access ebooks Community Zone collection would help to facilitate discovery of these resources.

  18. Automatic Upload of Electronic Holdings Integration Profile ELS ClinicalKey

    I would like to suggest an API integration profile for Elsevier to include ClinicalKey collections. This feature is currently available for ScienceDirect and ScienceDirect eBooks, but not for ClinicalKey.

    We currently spend a significant amount of time in deleting and adding portfolios to these collections each month.

  19. Set "available from date" and "available until date" in import profiles

    It is currently possible to set "available from date" and "available until date" in electronic portfolios either manually or with a job. But it would be useful to set these dates in import profiles too.

    One use case is a collection of Swank streaming video titles. The library wants to load MARC records because the CZ records are too brief. Here are the steps the library must take:
    1. Run the import profile to load the records and create electronic portfolios.
    2. Create a set of the newly created electronic portfolios.
    3. Run the "Change Electronic portfolio information" job on…

  20. Mechanism to find instances when Synchronize from CZ has failed

    When you've activated a CZ collection, updates to the collection/portfolios should be pushed to your IZ/NZ by the Synchronize from CZ job, but it's a known issue that sometimes this doesn't happen. The workaround is to delete and re-activate the collection, but this relies on an end user finding and reporting the error. Until this systemic issue is resolved, it would be good if Alma would report on instances where the job has failed so the library could proactively find and fix collection/portfolio-level issues before end users discover them.
