A "kill switch" for General System Administrators to immediately disconnect individual Alma users
Use case: A library employee (student or staff) responds to a phishing text message by providing their Single Sign-On (SSO) credentials; SSO is used on our campus for Alma authentication. I want to (1) disable all the roles on the library employee's account except for Patron; (2) disconnect the employee if he/she/they/* has an active session in Alma; and (3) be notified with the IP address of the originating computer if he/she/they/* attempts to log in again. Internal data and all non-fulfillment data deleted from external account when accounts are loaded from external system through API
Updating users from an external source (such as Banner) using the API means that any non-fulfillment information will be deleted such as Roles (the only role left is the Patron role), barcodes, alternate addresses, emails, phone numbers, fines/fees, blocks, attachments, proxy information.
Would it be possible to make sure that an account's update from Banner through the API only affects the fields supported by Banner without wiping off any other fields?

User letters anonymization
It would be useful to be able to delete the letters attached to the user records with the Anonymization job.
In particular, we would like to keep the users records of expired users but delete their attachments, adding an option item to the anonymization job section in Fulfillment Jobs Configuration.

Export users in one file
We export all our users every day at 19:00 hours.
This export results in over 600 files that then have to be concatenated into one big file.
It would be most useful if the export could result in one big file being exported.

Add Option to Toggle User Record Type
Add a simple toggle option for a user record to easily switch Record Types between Staff and Public. While there are more complicated ways to deal with it, if a user record is accidentally created and assigned the wrong Record Type there is no easy mechanism to change it, like we can when toggling an account between Internal and External.

Make address fields one of the searchable fields in user searches
Addresses on a patron record (at least the preferred address fields) need to be a searchable field in the universal search box on the dashboard.
We often find a need to on the fly find all the patrons who might come from a particular address.3 votes -
Quick edit "Renew Patron" link should save changes to patron record
In the patron Quick Edit screen when a patron is due to expire and the "Renew Patron" option appears in the right hand panel, clicking this link current just updates the expiry date for the patron and leaves the screen, but does not save any other changes you make to the patron record as you are updating them.
This link really needs to either also save the other changes made to the patron record, or just update the expiry date and not take you away from this screen so you can still save your changes.

Ability to send an email from User Details - General information although the user is restricted from editing
Our patrons are restricted from editing. Now with this setting librarians can't send e-mails from the General information - User Details page. It would be helpful to enable sending emails for librarians from the General information - User Details page to all patrons (users restricted from editing and also for non-restricted).

User Purge should be made AFN aware and not allow the deletion of a user with active transactions or fines/fees at another AFN inst.
The Alma User Purge job is not AFN-aware. It will allow the deletion of a user record from the user's home institution's IZ even when the user has active transactions or fines/fees at another AFN institution. These "orphaned" linked user records are confusing for both users and library staff and are not a best practice for user record management.
Examples of the resulting problems we've encountered thus far include:

Make the Send Message emails more customisable
Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam. add course name to the course tab on the user profile
At the moment the only columns available in the Course tab on the user profile is course code and section.
Course codes will often consist of a line of numbers so the option to add course name as a column would add great value.

Alma - automatic warning for users about to expire with dedicated alma xml letter
It would be useful to activate an automatic warning for users about to expire with dedicated alma xml letter.
The customer could simply set up the amount of days before expiration and if the letter should be sent to all users or to specific user groups. A scheduled job could be activated, so that the letter is sent every day at a specific time.302 votes -
Hide ‘edit’ option from My Library Card > Personal Details for specific user groups only
In Alma you can choose to hide the "Edit" option from the 'Personal Details' under 'My Library Card' for ALL your users by changing the parameter key 'primopatroninfo_updatable' to N
This works fine if all your users are set up as external users who automatically gets their contact information updated from a system outside Alma. But if you set up your students as external users and public users as internal users you will have to choose between letting the students update contact information that will be wiped out next time data is loaded in to Alma or not…

Show "Open for Update" override enabled

Add "Faculty" inside: Configuration Menu > User Management > General > Contact Information Pop-Up.

Set preferred SMS default to "Yes"
When adding users manually in Alma the phone number has a parameter called "Preferred SMS" which is automatically set to "No". It controls whether Alma sends SMS' to the patron or not. It can only be changed after the profile is first saved. Hence it is ease to forget to toggle this setting.
We would like to have the option to choose the default setting for Preferred SMS, or the option to toggle this setting before saving on the "Quick User Management" registration form.

Move general email feature outside of the User's form
The General Email function is currently located inside the form for updating general information in the user record.
If there are any problems with missing mandatory data in the form then the email cannot be used at all.
Since it is unrelated to user general information I would suggest that the Send Message function should be located outside of the user data area perhaps up near the buttons "Toggle Account Type", "Open for Update". (See screenshot)

Attach printed letters to user record
We send our bill notice to a central email account for price checking before sending onto the user.
Request is for any notice to be added to a users record in the attachment tab, whether it is emailed or sent to print.

Empty User Roles via API
We would like to be able to empty all user roles using an API call. Currently, User_Roles is the only segment that keeps untouched when the API call object does not contain any roles. This makes it necessary to keep at least one role as a parameter and it makes no sense from the API usability as it actually always returns the full user objets including empty roles arrays when we delete all roles from Alma end-point.
