Scheduled analytics reports will not send when the reports return no results
We often have to track incorrect data using analytics reports. If the analytics reports have no results (empty), then we do not want to see the reports emailed to us. In other words, if the analytics reports can catch incorrect data we design the reports to catch, then we would like Alma to send the reports to us. When an analytics reports return no results, it is in error, Alma should be able to identify the "no results" error, and stop sending us the empty reports. Bottom line, we do not want to receive analytics reports that are empty.
This new feature can apply to other subject areas, e.g.acquisition.

Dear Colleagues,
We appreciate your innovative suggestions and understand the value such development would bring. Despite our best efforts to integrate Oracle Analytics seamlessly with Alma, we face technical constraints that prevent us from implementing the proposed functionality. As Oracle Analytics is an external product, it limits our ability to adapt its features fully to our desired specifications.
Regrettably, the functionality to enable Alma's scheduled letters to discern content presence within attached reports and alter the workflow accordingly is beyond our current technical scope.
We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause and appreciate your understanding as we must, with regret, decline this idea.
Warm regards,
Shoshana

I would vote for this if I wasn't out of votes ;) We're setting up a data exchange with our treasurer (instead of built in bursar process) and it would be great if no report was sent if there was no data.

This is a really great idea.
It would be helpful for our data checking flow. -

Our college would also like this feature to stop the finance dept from receiving a file when our user fees transactions daily report is empty.

This is a great idea. I have a report to tell me if any configuration changes have happened, but most of the time it gets me an attachment with just the words "The query resulted in no rows". This is not at all helpful and makes it difficult for me to sort out when configuration changes actually happened.
I also agree that it should be optional, so that some reports would be sent even if empty or in error.

Great Idea and I agree with Ms Van Groll. It would be very useful to be able to choose which reports to send or not send if empty.

If this was developed, please allow for a configuration option to choose which reports to send or not send if empty, as sometimes it is the purpose of the report.
This could be by the Analytics Object, such as a checkbox during configuration in Alma, to check the box to not send if empty. -

I think this is an excellent idea.
