Assign Smart Harvesting records
Can Smart Harvesting records be assigned to users automatically in the same way deposit records are automatically assigned?

Display Project Type of ETDs more prominently
Project types of ETDs are very useful to make it clear when the final output of a student's educational career is something other than an ETD that went through our Graduate College. We have projects for Doctor of Nursing Practice, Education Doctorate Dissertation in Practice, and Doctor of Physical Therapy Case Reports. We also have very old bachelors theses, when the bachelors was a terminal degree in the discipline, but we also have Honors theses which are recent in the same disciplines. We would like the project type to display just as prominently as the subtype now does. see https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/929326-esploro/suggestions/49488992-make-subtype-display-more-prominently

Ability to reorder fields with multiple lines via drag and drop in back end and on profile
We would like to see drag and drop functionality implemented across all fields in both the repository and the portal that have mutlitple lines, e.g. relationaships on assets so that relationships can be displayed in desired order. Links on the profile page. Education. Research topics and keywords. Related content on the asset.
Currently many of theses fields display in the order they are entered and some display in a random undetermined order. If links need to be reordered they have to be deleted and re-added. This is a duplciaiton of effort.

As has been noted drag and drop is available in many places. We have no immediate plans to add more. Removing the Planned status so institutions can continue voting for this. Please indicate where it is most missing.

Esploro - Metadata Embargoes for Existing ETDs
Dear Team,
The RMIT Research Repository team regularly receives advice from the School of Graduate Research that an embargo has been approved for an ETD that is already available open access via the Research Repository.
ETDs affected are:
ETD Doctorate (we've labelled this Doctor of Philosophy (PhD))
ETD Doctorate (we've labelled this Professional Doctorate)
ETD Graduate (we've labelled this Masters by Research)There would commonly be around 20 of these per year with numbers expected to increase over the next few years. They occur when thesis authors request a temporary embargo due to contractual obligations with publishers and/or partner organisations,…

"Show all" Button in asset lists
It would be helpful to include a "show all" button in the asset list of the researcher profiles, in order to show all projects/assets on one page.

Ability to update affiliation of researchers attached to a grant
When adding a researcher to a grant you are not able to update their affiliation.
Assuming Esploro will be developed to show collaboration in grants, it will be necessary to have the correct affiliation showing for the researchers attached to a grant, similar to the affiliation for researchers attached to an asset.1 vote -
Configure Time Delay of Letter Delivery
Similar to scheduling the time of an email in Outlook (see attachment), permit the Esploro letters administrator to set a time delay for when letters are sent.
Our use case is as follows:
When we enter new theses, it can take up to 15 minutes for them to be available via the public portal after record 'Approval'. If enabled, a Deposit Status Update Letter is sent to the author immediately on 'Approval'. If the author opens up their letter straight away, they are presented with a dead link. We have disabled the Deposit Status Update Letter as a result.

Close current internal affiliations for purged users
When a user is purged their researcher record is updated from "Affiliated" to "Non-Affiliated - Previously Affiliated." However, their internal affiliations are not moved from "Current" to "Previous". In order to do that, customers must additionally run the Update Set of Researchers job. We recommend that this functionality be added to the purge job so that when a user is purged all open internal affiliations are closed with todays date.

Ability to bulk download files from asset record
We have some assets, especially datasets, that have a large number of files attached. It would be very handy if it was possible for a user to bulk download all (or selected) files rather than having to download them individually.

Add Teams, Committees, Working Groups as data in Profiles
We would like to see information in the profiles that indicates what Teams, Committees, and Working Groups a person is on or has been on in the past. The field should be indexed so it is searchable and include a date range.

Provide Asset Update API Method
It would be useful in some circumstances to be able to Asset's via the API instead of manually through the administrative interface or the export, modify in Excel/CSV, and re-import.

When the 'Biography and expertise' field is disabled for researchers in the front end, the formatting bar should be removed to avoid confusion.

Esploro to push Qualifications to ORCID profile
We would like Esploro-ORCID integration to push selected information in the "Education" section of their Researcher Profile into the "education and qualification section of the ORCID profile.
Currently, the integration only pushes assets and affiliations.
In our case, we give a certificate or badge to researchers upon completion of our Open Research Module.
We are able to expose that badge in the ORCID profile outside Esploro (an example of how the NASA exposed a badge can be seen https://orcid.org/0009-0000-3807-2892), but ideally we would like to push the badge via the repository.
See, for instance, Researcher Profile https://openresearch.surrey.ac.uk/esploro/profile/felix_pedrotti/overview?institution=44SUR_INST

Ability to delete "researchers" in bulk
Currently, removing the "Researcher" flag or deleting a researcher, we need to search for the person in Manage researchers; click on the three dots on the right side; and then select Delete. There is no way to select several names and then delete them; or run a job to delete them.
The functionality of making someone "unaffiliated/previously affiliated" is not the appropriate solution due to the way that we are ingesting "researchers".
All university staff is pushed into Alma flagging them all automatically as a researchers resulting in having many "false" researchers.
Hence, I'm proposing to have a functionality that…

Allow multiple urls to Esploro
Esploro can perform multiple functions including faculty profiles, institutional repository, and managing ETD submissions. These functions are distinct and descriptive urls are needed to help user communication. A couple of cases:
Faculty: A faculty member has created a profile for public access. The url of facultyprofile.univ.edu would be appropriate and helpful
Graduate student: A person has completed their thesis and needs to submit. The submission also needs to go through an approval process. In this case submit-etd.univ.edu or similar would be appropriate and helpful.
Researcher: An external researcher wants to view the university created assets. In this case ir.univ.edu would…

Esploro metadata to be compatible with the USRN Desirable Characteristics of Digital Publication Repositories toolkit
The USRN Desirable Characteristics of Digital Publication Repositories toolkit (https://github.com/antleaf/USRN-Discovery/wiki/Toolkit) aims to provide repositories with a report to identify areas where the platform isn't meeting best practices for metadata. I have attached the report from our instance of Esploro which highlights that licence URLS on records aren't being picked up (and other issues). Can Esploro's metadata and OAI integration be improved to meet the requirements?

Plain Language Summary
To help make research more accessible, some publishers have begun to add a 'Plan Language Summary' of articles after the abstract to explain the ideas in the article is a less technical way. Would it be possible for Esploro to have a field after Abstract called Plain Language Summary which uses AI to create the summary from the information entered into the Abstract field and which could be displayed on the asset record in the portal?

Analytics - ability to report on 'Asset Approved By'
In Analytics, under the 'Esploro Research Assets' subject area, we can currently report on 'Asset Created By' and 'Asset Modified By'.
We'd like to also be able to report on 'Asset Approved By'.This additional functionality will assist us in monitoring the work of trainees that are learning the system and our processes.

Show the languages information in the Researcher Profile
Currently, we register the languages spoken by the researchers in the back end of Esploro. But this valuable information is not visible in the public Researcher Profile. We would like this info to be visible, since this way researchers can be contacted in different languages facilitating networking.
