Include researcher proxies in Esploro letters and communications
Allow repository staff the ability to communicate with researcher proxies regarding deposits. Currently, all letters and communications regarding deposits are sent only to the researcher. In cases where a researcher has appointed a proxy to deposit assets and manage their profile, library staff should have the option to send messages to the appointed proxy instead of or in addition to the researcher. Staff should be able to select this option when approving or returning deposits or using the "Contact Researcher" button. Proxies should also have the option to recieve letters about the researcher accounts they manage.

Selecting a license in self-deposit
Selecting a license is not intuitive on the self-deposit form. You have to click the three dots next to the file after it’s been uploaded, then select the license. This is too bothersome for the researcher, so she's not selecting a license. We can leave this blank for most items, but it's very important for anything we're registering with CrossRef or DataCite, so it requires follow-up with the researcher. It would be better if the form prompted the researcher to select a license (or not).

Ability for researchers to show/hide details in the Communication section of their profile
Our researcher contact details are imported daily and we are finding some researchers add other email, phone and address details via their profile and would rather the alternate contact details be displayed.
We would like a button next to each entry in the Communication section so researchers can decide which to make visible, similar to the toggle visible/hidden icon available in the Affiliations section.

Add job to batch edit file and link information
Add a job that allows customers to batch edit file and link information for a set of research assets including fields such as content type, access rights, license, and description.

Add option to display more than 9 researcher profiles on a page.
Currently, only nine researcher profiles are listed per page. It would be nice if the defaults could be set by the user so that one does not need to scroll through several pages to see all profiles. Perhaps break it into 12, 24, 48 or all.

Embargo options for Links
When researchers deposit large dataset files, it is often impractical to upload them to Esploro. In those cases, we store the datasets externally. Then, in the Esploro record, we upload a readme file and add a link to the externally-stored dataset files. When access to the linked files needs to be embargoed for any number of privacy and security reasons, we need to be able to register DOIs, provide open access to the readme files, AND embargo access to the link(s).
Currently, our workaround is to 1) remove the link from the record; 2) add a copyright statement to the…5 votes -
Ability to create a customise CV at the institution level
We'd like to be able to customise a CV template at the institution level so that we can choose the desired fields/assets/activities to export.
Additionally, we'd like to be able to change the labels of the sections on the CV. We found a labels table (CV Researcher Categories) but this doesn't seem to change the labels either in the Portal view or on the exported CV.6 votes -
Add ability to keep assets in sets in a specific order
It would be great to have the ability to keep the assets within a set in a specific order. Now that we can use Analytics reports to create sets in Esploro, we would like to use top 10 lists we have created specifically for our institution to create sets of “top 10” assets, and add them to the Top 10 lists area on our homepage. You can currently do all of those things, but the set will not not stay in top 10 order. So the list that displays on the home page is not in top 10 order.

Ability to bulk update the name of researchers. Currently, we can move asset to a researcher, but if we want the same name variant in all their assets, we need to manually modify it in each asset record.
While moving the assets to a single researcher seems enough to display all the researcher's publication under their profile, it's problematic for the feed to Altmetric Institutional as Altmetric takes the name from the assets.
In addition, academics want to see a consistent name variant throughout their asset records.
We tried to update the author name for a number of assets for…

Add asset type Blog post as a type of Publication
We need an asset type Blog post to appear under Publications. These are not entire blogs. These are not interactive resources. They are a type of publication. We currently use asset type Other with a subtype Blog Post, but this means the items are not integrated with other publications on a researcher's profile.
We had hoped to deal with this through a 2023 roadmap item "Local Management of Asset Types and Categories" but it appears this will not be happening.
Note also a request for an image asset type - https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/929326-esploro/suggestions/47430887-image-asset-type

Improve functionality of ETD Degree Names table
Issue 1: Currently, ETD degree names must be manually entered individually into the table. There is no facility to upload a spreadsheet to populate the table. When repositories need to account for all relevant current degrees as well as past degrees for earlier theses uploaded, this list can be very long - we had 100.
Solution: allow for spreadsheet upload to populate table.Issue 2: There is no apparent way to control where a new degree is added in the list. It does not add to the end of the current list, it is not alphabetical, it seems to insert…

Impact Idea 2: Association of Projects with More Entities
Enable Projects to be linked with additional entities, such as Activities, Media mentions, and Resources to Projects. This will enhance the depth of project information and make it easier to track various related aspects of research activities. Improved association with these entities will provide a more comprehensive view of each project's impact.

Impact Idea 6: Integration of Research Activity Identifier (RAiD)
Integrate RAiD as a persistent identifier for research Projects and certain activities. RAiD will align with the European Open Science Cloud infrastructure, enhancing the visibility and traceability of research activities. This integration will support more robust Project identification and linking across various platforms.

Assign assets with active messages to administrators
Currently, you can only assign assets that have not yet been approved to administrators. Due to the built in messaging system in the faculty profiles, it would be helpful from a management standpoint to be able to assign assets with active messages to administrators. Currently, assets with active messages are only visible in the general task list. It's not possible to know what is in progress or being reviewed by another administrator unless you open each asset to view any communications. Furthermore, we have to leave open cases set to active to ensure that communications are followed up on (especially…

Media Mentions are usually related to a specific asset, not just a specific researchers. It would make the system more useful if a relationship with a specific asset were possible

Allow files to be organized in folders
When uploading files, there is no option to put them in folders or maintain the original folder structure. We have a user who has sorted his data by year and the only way to maintain that structure was to create separate assets for each year. They are closely related datasets.

Improve functionality of the Areas of Interest to allow labelled headings and locking of specific serctions
Esploro has ability to add multiple sections in the field for Area of Interest. However, when the profile is edited in the public view (Researcher portal) all the separate segments are merged into one.
We would like the ability to further control the look and access option for the Area of Interest sections.
For example: We currently use HTML to include headers for different sections of Researchers’ biographies, e.g. Biography, Research, Teaching.
Ideally, we'd be able to have separate fields, with customisable labels, in the Area of Interest so that we could control which fields to display and have greater…

Add OAI output in ETD-MS format
We would like to have an output in ETD-MS format so that we may continue to submit our ETDs to the Networked Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations. White metadata may be submitted in oaidc OR oaidc+oaietdms, oaidc lacks many important fields for etds so our contributions to this global database would be better in etd-ms format. See http://www.ndltd.org/resources/manage-etds/help-build-global-etd-search and http://www.ndltd.org/standards/metadata

Add research topics at "add researcher" step within record
When a researcher is incorrectly matched, we often have to create a new non-affiliated one in the record. We can add their affiliation, but we can't add research topics. If the name is common, we have to look them up by researcher and add the research topics.
It would be more efficient to add research topics (as keywords) during this step.

Integration with Interfolio
One of our biggest hurdles to having comprehensive researcher profiles in Esploro is the aggravation researchers feel when they have to enter the same information into multiple different systems. We would like to eliminate that aggravation by integrating Esploro with Interfolio, so Interfolio could provide updates to researcher info.
