Automatic update for forthcoming article with the published date
Hi, would it be possible to have a job that automatically update the asset information once the journal article is published either by using the metadata from the DOI or from WOS Identifier? For example, to add the published date alonside the first online date, and fill in the volume and issue, as well as the pages number?
Updating the forthcoming manually is quite tedious, and I believe that it wouldn't be too difficult to automate it, as the information exists in the DOI's metadata (publish print / publish online date part)
Thanks!

Expertise Finder
Esploro is capable of being an Expert Finder but limited to subject matter expertise gleaned from your Research Topics. What about an entire area for Expertise in the profile? The idea would be to list things you consider yourself an expert in (using the same taxomonies already available or free text) and offer toggles for :
-willing to be contacted about
-willing to mentor
-willing to assist in an emergency
-willing to serve on a committee
etc..Then the expertise is explicitly searchable and also indicative of people willing to apply that expertise in those scenarios. Then we would not…

Bulk updates to "Managed Externally" checkboxes
Currently, if the "Managed Externally" checkboxes are checked, faculty are unable to make changes to any of the fields. This became apparent when we noticed that prefilled Education fields (filled in during the time of our migration) were not accurate and the faculty members were not able to update it unless we uncheck these boxes. However, in a user's account there are up to 5-6 of these boxes. I was looking for a job that can bulk uncheck some if not all the boxes in all researchers.

Clickable DOI link on deposit records
For deposit records awaiting processing (either through user deposit or Smart Harvesting), would it be possible for the DOI on the record to be a clickable link so that staff can check the published version quickly before claiming the record and working on it?

Add the ability to display PlumX metrics badges
We would like the ability to display PlumX badges for assets. Being able to display WOS and Altmetrics badges/metrics on assets is great, but WOS covers only a select group of journals. Adding the ability to also include PlumX badges on assets would expand our metrics coverage to give administrators the numbers they want, and give researchers a fuller, more accurate picture of the impact of their works. Metrics make the academic world go round. And the more information we can provide our users, the more buy in we encourage across campus.

Remove “Edit Profile” if there is No access to the Researcher Profile
We would like to remove “Edit Profile” from the researcher’s actions drop down menu If a researcher has “Has Access to the Researcher Profile” set to No

Ability to merge multiple researchers from the manage researchers page
It would be helpful to have an option to merge multiple duplicate researchers at once from the manage researchers page, rather than relying solely on the bulk merge duplicate researchers report. Many times we need to look at the assets themselves to determine if the researchers are indeed identical.

Impact Idea 1: Date Field for Added Files & Links
Incorporate a date field for files and links added to a project in Esploro. This feature will be crucial for tracking the timeline of project-related documents, such as appreciation emails, blog posts, or reports.
As we begin collecting a 'paper trail' of engagement leading to societal impact, and potentially in many future cases, academics will need to add information to their projects retrospectively. For supporting evidence that is temporarily or not publicly available (e.g., emailed testimonials or government websites), it is best practice to capture and store these locally, preferably in Esploro.
The date field will help document when the…

Tagging Selected Outputs in Esploro
1.0 Proposal to tag or highlight selected outputs
We would like to explore the possibility of “tagging” (or similar demarcation) selected outputs in Esploro to differentiate / highlight them.
This tagging will be additional to the current search / refine options (such as Research Unit or Subject).
All forms of outputs (articles, data sets etc) should be eligible for tagging. For example, we may want to “tag” Covid-19 research papers and data, or other key research on particular themes or goals.
Ideally, there should also be an option of sub-tagging eg. a main tag, and a sub-tag (ie. the option…

Ability to Upload updated Internal Organization file without overwriting the whole structure
The ability to uplaod a new internal organization file (exported from Workday with edits) without overwriting the existing structure or detaching assets would be a huge time saver. Right now we have to go in manually and make significant changes on a regular basis because our university re-organizes frequently.

Add a creation date to the summary asset record
In order to manipulate and identify files for individual or batch processing, the display of the asset record creation date in the summary asset record would be very useful.
I've attached an image of the existing summary asset record. At present, only an 'Asset last updated' field is included. It would be a logical next step to display when the record was created.7 votes -
Ability to flag external and internally managed grants
When a researcher is involved with a grant that is not managed by the organisation it would be nice to be able able to display this on the profile grants tab. So Internally managed grants would display as internally managed and ones where the researcher is a collaborator on a grant that is owned by another institution would show as externally managed.

Impact Idea 5: Moderation/Approval Step
Introduce a moderation step or approval process before Projects are made public. This step will ensure content quality and accuracy, maintaining high standards for Project visibility and reducing the likelihood of errors or inappropriate content being published.

Impact Idea 4: Audit Trail for Project Edits
Implement an audit trail to track edits and deletions for Projects. This feature will enhance accountability and ensure that all changes are documented, helping to prevent unauthorized modifications or deletions by 'team members' leaving the university under less favorable conditions. It will also support teamwork by addressing trust issues in collaborative environments.

Ability to batch edit author affiliations
We need a way to improve existing affiliations in assets to both add and cleanup affiliations that do not match with EROD. These affiliations will be more and more important with collaboration reports

Show SDGs as a facet
The information on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in the assets in Esploro has enormous potential. We would love to be able to have the SDGs as a facet, since that way users can filter outputs towards their aims. Since the information is already in the asset, we think it could be an easy gain for ExLibris to enable the faceting of this info.

Ability to display thumbnail images of outputs wherever they are listed (e.g. on the Outputs tab of a Profile)
Currently, when a file has been loaded to an asset, the thumbnail shows in the repository view, but not the profile view.
Likewise, if the asset is listed as a related asset to a project, the thumbnail does not display.
We would like to see consistency so that the thumbnail is display anywhere there is a list of assets. This is especially important for profiles as we are currently trying to encourage our creative academics to use their profiles and having a visual element would make them much more inclined to use them.

Enable suppression of assets on portal and profiles before approval of the asset
We can currently only suppress assets from the portal and profiles after we've approved the asset post. This approach carries the risk of forgetting to adjust the asset's visibility later, potentially leading to it being visible when it shouldn't be.
Ideally, you should be able to complete all aspects of an asset post, including adjusting its visibility, before approving it. This is particularly crucial for key functionalities like the visibility of an asset.

Scopus integration
Can an integration be developed with researcher's Scopus IDs (similar to the ORCID integration) to enable researchers to link their Scopus accounts with Esploro and allow publications listed on Scopus which are not in Esploro to be pulled through (and with any relevant SDG information)? Many researchers rely on data and publications lists on Scopus for their promotion attempts so it would be good if Esploro could integrate more with Scopus.
