Thesis advisor/committee member should populate Activities from the ETD record
ETD asset records already have the activity of Thesis advisor/committee member connected directly with titles of ETDs, student names, dates and degree. Adding this information as separate Activities will be time consuming and will likely be filled with errors. This information should be maintained in one place, the ETD record, and then should display in the activity for the faculty member. We should not be creating duplicate information when we can help it. this would ensure that information remains current and is accurate
Removing the "accepted" status so that institution can continue voting as agreed with the PWG.

We need to have the student's name visible in the brief list. If that name doesn't display all we see is the person on whose profile the etd is listed and we already no that name so it is of no use. Faculty members want to easily see a list of WHO they advised with a link to their dissertation. Easily seeing the student's name is a critical part of this.

Additionally, we use the Public & Academic engagement fields in the researcher record to record who is available for supervision, yet there is no option for this information to be displayed anywhere.

I agree that existing supervision that has already been entered as a supervision on the ETD asset should be displayed somewhere on the profile, and as part of the activities makes sense.

I support this idea to avoid redundancy and extra effort. I also suggesting making connections between ETD records and advisors more dynamic. If advisors/committee members have Researcher profiles, those should be linked from the ETD record via their name.
