The OpenURL enhancements in the March 2025 release partially address this issue, but the display is still problematic. Cover images shouldn't be treated like content files.

note: we tested a cover image on book at the request of the author. The display was fine in Esploro and Primo BUT it behaved like something with full text posted and we all agreed that it was not an option with current functionality

Removing the "accepted" status so that institution can continue voting as agreed with the PWG.

We need to have the student's name visible in the brief list. If that name doesn't display all we see is the person on whose profile the etd is listed and we already no that name so it is of no use. Faculty members want to easily see a list of WHO they advised with a link to their dissertation. Easily seeing the student's name is a critical part of this.

We need an efficient way to update affiliations for non-local people. A job was introduced in July 2024 (to be fixed in March 2025) to update local people's affiliations. However, this will not help correct affiliations for non-local co-authors. In some cases, it might be best to remove all the data, which can now (Feb 2025) be done asset by asset but not in a batch. In other cases it might be beneficial to update the affiliations en masse by pulling in just the affiliation data again, using smart harvest type functionality (this is somewhat available asset by asset, but the option to only update affiliations and to not touch the rest of the data is not there, which means we need to carefully check that correct data was not over written). Another approach would be a batch revise via csv where we could correct the affiliation, perhaps by adding a ROR. More recent content is not as problematic, but content added several years ago can be very messy which will make any reports about collaboration across institutions less useful until the data is cleaned up. A CSV change would be ideal, especially if we could also remove affiliations in this process

A few of the links above are no longer good examples (Sheffield and Tranel are still good examples), so here are some additional ones

We experimented with adding via Honors and Education forms. The Honors form works OK, but it is obviously the wrong spot. The Education form doesn't work as well for this, but with a heading change to something like "Education, Licenses and Certifications" it could work as a location -

The URLs above no longer work - https://ndltd.org/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/etd-ms-v1.1.html
Specifically what we need is similar to what we should have with qualified DC:
dc.title.alternative
dc.title translated
dc.description.abstract
dc.description.note
dc.description.release
dc.publisher.country
dc.contributor.role
Plus these etd specific fields
thesis.degree.name
thesis.degree.level
thesis.degree.discipline
If all of this was in QDC we could map to this format

An "Other" under publications would help (example) https://iro.uiowa.edu/esploro/outputs/9983557326202771 but we would also need to have the resource sub-type display more prominently. It is buried in the details section. It is not available as a facet. It does not display in the brief view. It has not impact on the broad resource type at the very top (to the left of open access). We need more information displayed prominently both in the research portal and on profiles.

It would great to have the same functionality on a researcher profile that is requested for the portal on https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/929326/suggestions/44147037

I think if schema tags were added (as requested in another idea exchange, below) then publications would go into Zotero properly.
Esploro datasets in Google Dataset Search
Making Esploro datasets discoverable in the Google Dataset Search is a high priority for positioning Esploro as a robust data repository solution. A prominent research program has deposited several of their datasets in Esploro. At a recent meeting, the PI indicated that not having their Esploro datasets discoverable in the Google Datasets Search was a significant disadvantage when compared to other data repositories like PANGAEA.
Schema.org tags are required for inclusion in Google Datasets, these tags should be added to Esploro assets.

The DOI is clickable link for me in the smart harvest Author Matching Approval Task List. It is not clickable for me for a user deposit and I agree this would be helpful
