Esploro Analytics - eISSN and ISSN in separated fields in Esploro Analytics Analysis
In Esploro, a research asset record does provide 2 fields for eISSN and ISSN.
This useful distinction seems to be lost in Analytics, where ISSN single field contains both values, separated by semicolon, with no way to disambiguate between them.
The same happens with eISBN and ISBN.
Please keep Esploro Analytics consistent with Esploro and provide fields for eISSN, ISSN, eISBN, ISBN.
It's not only a matter of consistency and granularity. We are trying to make reports/simulation for ANVUR (National Evaluation of Researchers) and we need this distinction.
This was done in the Dec 2025 release

Dear Tami,
Thank you for the update. Should I ask when it is going to be visible in Esploro so as to test it?
Thank you in advance for your time and effort to send me response to this.
Best,

Hi Luigi,
I had the same problem recently with the ISSN and eISSN fields in Esploro Analytics. I contact the support and they suggest send a idea exchange here so as to be possible to have it in Analytics. This solution will help us have better results with importing external data and match the ISSN field within excel fields. So for us it is important to have separated fields for eISSN and ISSN.
Thank you for suggestion.
Best Regards,

While it is possible to split the field in Analytics for use in reports, if the only ISSN is for the print, it will appear first and so will be aligned with the eISSNs. It seems that having separately named fields in Analytics (as suggested above) would be the only way to solve this.
