"Update DOI Registration Agency - Research Assets" Job Improvements
The "Update DOI Registration Agency - Research Assets" job that runs daily does not provide detailed reporting. A detailed report of successfully updated, failed, and migrated assets would aid in troubleshooting and administration of the job.

Ability to create/modify default settings for researcher profiles synchronized with Alma
I would like the ability to create a default profile for all new researchers loaded in by our SIS through Alma. Currently we are using XML and XSLT on top of our SIS import.
Our university is being selective to which faculty has a profile versus a public profile. This is causing an issue with the current set up, specifically for the faculty who has edit their information in our SIS. Currently, our only set up is that all researchers gets loaded in with a private profile, despite being already in Esploro with a public profile. It would be helpful…

image asset type
Our repository is hosting many image files, ranging from historical photographs to scientific photos preformed gathered by aerial drone survey.
There is no asset type that covers photographs or any other type of image in the platform.
Please add image types.3 votes -
Expand asset type options for student deposit profile
For non-ETDs, there are limited options of asset types for Student Deposit Profiles - see image. There is no ability to create a form for a journal article. However, our students frequently publish and deposit journal articles. This will force to either do a manual mediated deposit for them, or they will need to ask a co-author to deposit for them. Please can you expand the asset types available for a student deposit form to allow for deposits of journal articles, reports etc. Thanks

Enhance the Project Entity in Esploro to Store the Path to Societal Impact
We propose a series of feature enhancements for the Project Entity within Esploro. These features aim to boost functionality, streamline user experience, and enable the Project Entity to maintain a comprehensive 'paper trail' demonstrating societal impact.
Esploro’s Researcher Profiles can evolve into a robust platform for showcasing achievements and discovering funding opportunities. Beyond displaying automated publications, citations from Web of Science, altmetrics, awarded funding, student supervision, and press mentions, we envision integrating an SSO link to tailored funding opportunities in Pivot-RP profiles.
To drive engagement and inspire a "Monkey See, Monkey Do" effect, we propose adding an "Engagement & Impact"…

Open Access funder policy compliance checker
Are there plans for Esploro to have a compliance checker where we can set the criteria of funder open access policies (such as the UKRI one: https://www.ukri.org/publications/ukri-open-access-policy/uk-research-and-innovation-open-access-policy/) and measure the compliance of our assets within the repository?

Scopus integration
Can an integration be developed with researcher's Scopus IDs (similar to the ORCID integration) to enable researchers to link their Scopus accounts with Esploro and allow publications listed on Scopus which are not in Esploro to be pulled through (and with any relevant SDG information)? Many researchers rely on data and publications lists on Scopus for their promotion attempts so it would be good if Esploro could integrate more with Scopus.

Display ORCID in asset details
Please provide the option to display and link to each creator's ORCID in the Details section of the asset page when it is present in the record. This is standard practice on many publisher websites.

Allow repository staff to send canned responses
Allow customers the ability to create and store canned messages that can be used when communicating with researchers. Esploro already offers the ability to create custom return reasons that can be selected when returning a deposit. But this feature would be even more useful if selecting of one of those reasons also sent customizable canned message that could be used to provide further instruction to the researcher on how to modify and resubmit their deposit. It would be useful to have a set of canned messages that could be used when approving a deposit to notify the researcher if any…

Add credentials and licensure fields to researcher web profiles
Our healthcare clinicians and have their medical license information and board certifications display on their academic profiles. We would like to be able to display this information in the researcher profiles as well. We would want the researcher or their delegates to maintain and enter this information, as it is not part of our central directory.
Examples: https://medicine.uiowa.edu/internalmedicine/profile/christina-charis-donelson
https://medicine.uiowa.edu/neurology/profile/daniel-tranel

Zotero - Esploro: can you make it work?
We recommend all our users to use Zotero as their reference management software. Its connector captures a lot of metadata from a vast variety of sources...but in Esploro it doesn't work. I dont see how we can encourage users to use this platform when at the moment of the research they will have to go get the metadata from another source or manually enter it. We would love to be able to use the Zotero connector when in Esploro to capture the metadata and the pdf if possible, of the item. Could you please take this idea into consideration? Thanks…

Issue with OA status on closed asset with open manuscript
There seems to be no way to add an open access manuscript to an asset for a work whose published version is closed without listing the entire asset as OA.
This is a major issue because a central use case for Esploro is to provide openly accessible manuscript versions of closed works. This problem means that we currently cannot add an open manuscript to a non-OA asset (i.e. journal article) without marking the entire asset as OA, which is incorrect and misleading.
There is a workaround, but fixing this would be extremely helpful in the long run as we scale…

Ability to harvest full text files
The overarching goal of an institutional repository is to provide free public access to the research and creative output of the institution. Although Esploro offers institutions the ability to grow their repository by harvesting publication metadata from external sources, the imported metadata is of limited value without full text. We would like to see Esploro's smart harvesting capabilities extended by offering customers the option to match imported records with full text available from sources like Unpaywall. Using Unpaywall's API, it should conceivably be possible to identify Creative Commons licensed full text files, import them into the repository, and match them…

Option to display just the Output on the Researcher Profile
Hello,
It would be great to be able to have the option to display either just the Output section for the Researcher Profile or have the option to display the Output tab first before the profile. Since most of the information from the profile page requires active perusal from the faculty, some of the information can be outdated or not "fleshed out" (some of our faculty does not have any profile information on their page)3 votes -
Add Thesis dc Field to OAI Output
Add the <dc:type>Thesis</type> to identify theses.
Theses are frequently searched for by our Research Repository users and this would make them more discoverable.
Thank you

Enhance Smart Expansion via Bibtex by adding CDI auto population job
When importing records via Bibtex files, records are created but fail to sync with the journal details like Peer Review and Open Access status. When you open the record, both fields are marked as unknown but when you "refresh" the journal name, it seems to retrieve the data necessary to populate these fields. Is it possible to create a separate or subsequent CDI auto population job that matches and updates the journal information for any Smart Expansion via bibtext job so that these don't have to be fixed manually by going to each assert?
Even if there was an intermediary…

Allow usage data to be captured more granularly
We would like to suggest two improvements for capturing asset views/downloads at a more granular level.
1) Tracks usage for each file associated with an asset
An asset can include more the one file. However, Esploro only shows the combined usage of all files associated with the asset. We would like views and downloads to be tracked individually for each file.2) Track usage by geography.
Allow users to drill down (in both the portal and Analytics) to view usage by country of origin. This would be particularly helpful for evaluating the reach and impact of an institution's research in…2 votes -
Auto Assignment for Asset Types
We have regularities in terms of which colleague checks which type of assets. It would be nice if I could automatically add the assginment to the asset type for these people. otherwise, as admin, I always have to check first and then end up assigning the same colleagues again anyway.

Default search results to full text/open access
The primary mission of our institutional repository is to support our university's open access policy by providing free, public access to institutional research and scholarship. Accordingly, our institution stipulates that all affiliated researchers deposit a copy of their accepted manuscript in the repository at the time of its acceptance for publication. Apart from self deposit, Esploro offers a variety of other ways for ingesting research outputs including smart harvesting and smart expansion. While these tools offer useful ways to grow the repository, they also tend to allow for the proliferation of metadata-only records (asset records without files).
In order to…

Have date facet on researcher profile output list
Is it possible to add a date 'from-to' facet on the list of outputs on a researcher's profile? It would be nice to have a date filter for researchers with long publication lists so users can easily see what was published in a specific year or range of years.
