   When using Primo VE on a mobile device, such as a mobile phone, if you change from portrait to landscape and then back to portrait, half of the page will become blank, which is not conducive to readers' viewing.

2. Increase the number of local fields for search and facets

   If the library has many specialized and local fields it should be possible to improve the user search without the build-in restriction of 10 locally defined fields. There should not be a limit to use of local fields.

5. Primo Central Index ( PCI ) - more granularity in excluding content from activated resources - e.g. exclude from index by resource type

   Right now in Primo Central Index the customer can either activate or not a resource. But sometimes more granularity would be appreciated. Namely adding a filter by resource type allowing inclusion or exclusion in the index would be very useful. Please note: it's not a matter of adding a resource type in PCI. It's a matter of excluding records with a specific resource type from activated resources.

   For example, some resources/data sources contains not only articles, but also journals and other resource types we actually catalogue. Since right now dedup does not work between local records and PCI, this ends up leading to a lot of duplicated entries in the search results (1 for the journal in the catalogue + 1 for the same journal in PCI).
   Allowing us to exclude Journals from PCI, thus having only articles, would greatly reduce noise and bias in the search results.

   Right now in Primo Central Index the customer can either activate or not a resource. But sometimes more granularity would be appreciated. 6. Discovery collections handling

   When creating or updating an Alma collection (adding/removing titles), the change is not automatically reflected in the Discovery Collections and it is necessary to trigger the reindexing for a correct display.
   This workflow is problematic when titles are removed: records are taken out from a collection but are still present in Primo VE because a reindexing is needed. They can no longer be found by searching for the collection in Alma. Depending on the collection, it might also not be possible to find them all via a single search and it might be necessary to manually add the records to a set by comparing the collections in Alma and Primo. In these cases, it is extremely cumbersome to properly remove records from a collection.

7. Search should be more forgiving of spelling errors/incorrect searches

   We would like the search in Primo VE to be more forgiving in terms of spelling mistakes and incorrect searches, akin to other search engines, as this is what our users are mostly familiar with. For example, searching “Das Leid des jungen Werter” instead of “Die Leiden des jungen Werther” will find the searched for title on Google, Amazon as well as a local bookshops online platform, while on Primo VE, the book itself, of which we have several versions in our catalogue, is not found at all and only some related literature is shown. Another example would be “The count of Monte Christo”. Searching for “The count of montecristo” or “The count of monetchristo” will only bring up partially related literature. Again, other platforms will easily find the correct title.

8. Facet "language" not working

   The facet "language" in Primo is not working correctly. When I choose another language than german or english, e.g. italian, I got german or english titles whose authors have an italian background. This is not making any sense. Especially our chinese students expect titles in chinese when they use this facet. And as it is a global problem I think ExLibris has to find a solution. I checked with several Primo catalogues from other libraries:

   In all libraries I checked there is the same problem that the language facet is not working correctly. So I hope that other libraries will vote for this enhancement request as it is a fatal error in the facets functionality. And I think we should not accept this failure.

9. Alerts in a consortium with NZ: send alerts for records added to the inventory of the institution of the user

   The alert functionality is not really functional in a library network with a Network Zone. Users get an alert when a new bibliographic record is created in the Network Zone, but most users don't care about new acquisitions in other institutions. What they want is to be alerted on new acquisitions in their own institution. This means: to get an alert when a new bibrecord is added to the inventory of of their IZ (not only by creating a new record but also by adding a holding or portfolio to an existing record in the NZ).
   Our request is to allow for alerts at the institution level in a consortium with NZ.

10. Classification Authority Record Enrichment in Primo VE

    In addition to the indexing of bibliographic metadata, Primo VE indexes preferred and non-preferred terms from 1XX and 4XX fields in related Alma authority records.
    This is not the case for classification authority records. In the old Primo, it was possible to enrich bibliographic records with additional terms available in 7xx fields of the classification record. For instance:

11. Improve RTA Holdings status information for checked out / unavailable items for Alma consortiums

    For Alma / Primo customers in a consortial resource sharing network, when an item in an institutional view is checked out, in the brief results display, an RTA availability statement is replaced with a "Check Holdings" link. Upon clicking on the title and viewing the full display of the record, RTA is checked for all institutions, including the institution of the view the user is in, updating the RTA status. When the user clicks out of the full record, the correct status (e.g., Checked Out) displays in the RTA section of the brief record in the results list.

    Users should be able to see, in their institutional view, that an item is checked out without having to "check holdings" and load the RTA for all institutions. RTA should be accurate even for checked out items when the brief results display loads after each search.

12. replace "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" with a pair of show local / show CDI checkboxes

    To avoid duplicates when we have both local portfolios and CDI records, we can rely on the "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma".
    Enabling this feature will show in Primo local IZ portfolios, and is very good when local records are rich and CZ records are limited/poor.
    Sometimes however CDI records are richer and provide indexing at chapter level. In such a case we would like to hide IZ local portfolios and show CDI records instead.
    It would be therefore useful and clearer to replace the "Do not show as Full Text available in CDI even if active in Alma" with a pair of checkbox:

    show local IZ records YES/NO
    show CDI records YES/NO

13. Include DOIs in references in APA 7th ed. format for records coded with Dublin Core.

    Exlibris has just updated the APA 7th ed. citation format settings to include the DOI for MARC21-encoded records (idea exchange: Improve APA citation format to include the DOI for an article), but we also want Exlibris performs the same process for Dublin Core-encoded records.

    Users are increasingly turning to PRIMO to obtain the citation reference of a record they are interested in and in many cases their metadata is in DublinCore format, as more and more catalogs integrate repositories that encode information following this format.

14. Browse by physical location in Primo

    In Primo, it is not currently possible to browse by physical location & in our previous system, we were able to do so. For instance, from http://primo.rollins.edu/primo_library/libweb/action/search.do?fn=showBrowse&mode=BrowseSearch&vid=01RC&tab=books_tab&dscnt=0&dstmp=1467208388734 we would like to have the option to browse by one of our locations, for instance For example, I would like to see what titles we have in Rare Special or Rare Florida Collections, but I do not see from the browse menu.

    we would like to be able to somehow browse by a given physical location in Primo without doing a keyword or title search for a particular item.

16. Different URL:s in Resource Recommender depending on language

    When adding resources to Resource Recommender you can only use one URL. We would like to have the option to enter different URL:s depending on which language you are using in Primo. All our web pages are translated to English but now we can only point to our pages in Swedish. This would be a great enhancement to all multi-lingual universities.

18. Make the PIN code field in Primo My Account a secure text field with eye icon to show/hide the PIN

    As a user, I would like to have the possibility to hide the values I have entered in the Pincode field (Update Login Credentials in My Account > Personal Settings) so that the data isn't visible to others. In order to check for typos, I would like to have the possibility to display the data (e.g. by clicking on an eye symbol)

19. We couldn't link a digital object to a reading list from our repository (DSpace).

    We found it very interesting that PRIMO could link a digital object from our DSpace repository to a reading list.

    Currently, this is only possible if we add the citation to the repository in ALMA and it is generating repeated references (since it collects our DSpace).
    It would be desirable that Primo to be able to view citations from reading lists that are not in the Alma repository.
