Enable authority Record Enrichment in Primo VE on local subject fields
In addition to the indexing of bibliographic metadata, Primo VE indexes preferred and non-preferred terms from 1XX and 4XX fields in related Alma authority records. However, this works only in the generic advanced search Subject field.
We need Primo VE to enable authority record enrichment on local fields as well.
Indeed, we have configured local subject fields that are more specific than the default Subject field. These enable searching only on specific subject vocabularies. But configuring such fields does not include the enrichment capability.

Do not display private fields in “display source record” or full record in Primo VE.
Marc 21 coding is used to identify some marc record fields/subfields as private. As an example, the indicators in the 541 tag are used to indicate that data in the field is ‘private’ to the organisation. Primo VE should automatically hide these fields from the source record and full details display in Primo VE. If an organisation wishes for the field to be made public they can adjust the record coding as appropriate. Alternatively organisations should be able to select to suppress private fields (as identified in marc 21) from public display.

Restore One-Click Permalink Access in NDE Brief and Full Record Displays
As a library staff member and end user, I would like direct, one-click access to copy a permalink from both the brief and full record displays so that I can quickly and efficiently share stable links to resources without navigating through multiple menu layers.
Description:
In the original Primo VE UI, both brief and full record displays include a dedicated permalink button that allows users to access a permanent link to a resource with a single click. This streamlined access is essential for common workflows including:
- Reference and instruction staff sharing resources with students and faculty
- Liaison librarians embedding links…

Journal Search: Consider the NZ activation for e-resources with Inventory Management Groups in the IZ
Our consortium activates Open Access e-collections in the Network Zone so that they are available in every IZ of the network. Electronic collections for Open Access e-resources are activated without any Inventory Management Group assigned to it. It should display for every IZ and every Inventory Management Group within the IZ.
Some of the licensed e-collections in the IZs also cover e-resources that are activated in the NZ as Open Access. (Journals can have partial Open Access) The IZs are using Inventory Management Groups, and the local views are assigned to the campuses of the specific Inventory Management Groups. The…85 votes -
Allow institutions to exclude the 776 from the CDI holdings file
Proposal: allow institutions to exclude the 776 from the CDI holdings file
Problem: sometimes local services for book title X in a series get matched to CDI records for book title Y (a different title in the series). Users click on the service and are taken to the wrong book, which is frustrating. According to Ex Libris, Alma uses the 776 field to generate the holdings file that is sent to CDI to calculate availability, and this is what causes the incorrect matching.
The solution of removing identifiers from the 776 as outlined in this Knowledge Article is not feasible,…

Improving Pick Up Location Logic in Primo NDE
Purpose:
To reduce incorrect deliveries, avoid patron frustration, and create a smoother, more intuitive request workflow by improving how pick up locations are ordered and saved in Primo NDE.
- Organisation-Level Improvement: Custom Default Sorting of Pick Up Locations
Current Issue
In the current setup, the pick up location list is presented alphabetically/historical by default. This can place small or rarely used locations at the top of the list, even when they are not relevant for most patrons.
This increases the risk of accidental selection and leads to unnecessary delivery errors.Proposal:
Within Primo NDE, the institution should be able to:

collection discovery
Currently grid items in Collection Discovery can show title, resource type and thumbnail. We would like to add creator/author and or creation/publication date if possible. My suggestion is to add configuration for changing what is displayed in the item grid elements in Collection Discovery.

Allow users to customize PNX addata subfields
Currently, the normalization rules for creating addata subfields are not available to users. As a result, redundant information is included in subfields intended for authors, creators or titles and as result the citations are inaccurate.

Main menu on desktop - let us decide how many links to show
Hi
On desktop, the main menu shows 6 links and then "..." to show the rest.
On desktop, there would be ample space to just show all the links instead of hiding some of them.
https://utk.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UTN_KNOXVILLE:01UTK&lang=en
https://union.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01UCNY_INST:01UCNY_INST&lang=en
https://primo.hope.edu/discovery/search?sortby=rank&vid=01COL_HOPE:HOPE
https://col-westernsem.primo.exlibrisgroup.com/discovery/search?vid=01COL_WTS:WTS&lang=en
On the other hand, maybe a library wants to hide some links behind the "...", but wants to show fewer than 6 links before the dots.
Please make this more flexible.
Thank you
ManuelaOur own main menu is at 6 links at the moment, but we plan to add more links https://basel.swisscovery.org/discovery/search?search_scope=UBS&vid=41SLSP_UBS:live&lang=en

PCI to recognise the elements of a DOI to find the item
Errors in search results are likely to occur when users are searching for DOIs from citations. DOIs are often formatted differently in citations or online but the user will naturally just copy-paste the DOI as it appears. If the user searches for this 10.1016/j.acalib.2008.10.014 in Primo Central - you find the article. However if you search for http://dx.doi.org/10.1016/j.acalib.2008.10.014 as it might be displayed in a citation, the article is not found. Anything preceding the DOI registry number (including doi:10.1016 for eg) will not result in a successful search.

• Records without a date at the bottom of results list when sorting on date oldest
At this moment, the sort option “Date oldest” displays the records without a date on top of the results list. This is confusing and not relevant for users; when there are several records without a Creation Date they probably conclude that sorting on date oldest doesn’t work. Our request is to display the records without a date always at the bottom of the results list when a sort option on date is used (thus as well for date oldest as for date newest)

This is to update that this is currently not planned to be developed. We might evaluate it again in the future.
Therefore we are removing the "Under review" status for now.
Best regards,

Second sort in facets
Currently, Primo shows the items in the facets (e.g. the subjects facet) either sorted alphabetically or by the number of items.
However, it seems to order the items randomly when the number of items is identical for several different subject heading in the facet.
It would be beneficial to be able to configure a secondary sort option for these items (for example when using a multilingual subject heading system - to present the same subject in both language one after the other).79 votes -
Stop the difference in the item display between Alma and Primo when the description field is filled in
I would like to see all monograph items display as such in the Primo location tab.
Currently if an item (even if tagged elsewhere as a one time monograph) contains anything in the Items description field Primo is treating the item as a serial.
For an explanation of how Primo does this see the following knowledge center article: https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Primo/Knowledge_Articles/Difference_in_the_item_display_between_Alma_and_Primo_when_the_description_field_is_filled_inThis is a problem as it prevents users from easily seeing the availability information.
See for example the attached screenshot where the number of available titles does not display. Please change the logic in Primo so that it does not treat…

Index Item Level Information
We have entered journal contents into item records. Currently, journal contents is only searchable if the title is available electronically. We would like users to be able to retrieve contents from our physical journal holdings when searching in Primo. This information is contained in the public note field of the item record - having the option to make this searchable would be of great benefit to our users.
Public level notes can be seen in the Primo record, but they cannot be searched so users have to know what they're looking for before they look for it.78 votes -
Make configurable preference of source in deduplication
Preference of records coming from differente sources in deduplication is hardcoded in Primo and it causes undesired situations, for example poor SFX records have preference over rich ILS records and the information from ILS records is discarded. Order of preference of sources should be configurable through Primo Admin interface instead of being hardcoded

new option/checkbox: "expand my results with synonyms"
The Primo Search Engine includes synonyms by default to expand the result list. This often leads to results which are fuzzy and hardly explainable.
Instead of including synonyms by default we want to see an option to include synonyms by explicit user decision.
This option ("expand my result using synonyms") could be included into the facets section or should be visible close to the search button.

Set default encoding level for Export RIS in New UI
In the New Primo User Interface the Export RIS functionality requires users to select an encoding level.
In the classic UI UTF-8 was selected by default.
Can the default encoding level please be an option in the New UI.
Many of our users are confused by which encoding level to select, and we would like to present them with a default option selected to help ease the confusion.77 votes -
Responsive label "item in place/not in place" for open shelf items
Our available items in open rack cannot be requested for local pickup but this is confusing for patrons as there is a physical request button (only for a Transit request - the Owning Library is missing as pickup location). Only for items NOT in place and items in STACKS, the Owning Library is an additional Pickup location.
As the option for local pickup for open shelf items depends on the availability and location (item in place/item not in place), we would like to change this label and add information about requestability and access to items (see image attached). But this…

Primo Analytics - add the ability to monitor availability link clicks by availability category
Currently usage statistics may be generated using the "Click on availability statement" Analytics action, however there is no way to differentiate clicks on say, "Available at" (for physical resources) and "Check online access".
We would like the ability to extract availability clicks by category:
Check online access
Available at
No full text
etc.General use cases:
To help us decide what types of links should display where and in what order in Primo.
More specific use case:
To help us understand how patrons are accessing electronic resources. For instance, we have added the BrowZine PDF fulltext link to Primo. We…
