Saving Queries on the Community Zone
Please, let us save queries on the Community Zone as a logical set.
It is well understood that no one but Ex Libris is supposed to be able to run jobs on the CZ data and most likely that is why you currently cannot save a query on the Community Zone as a set. However, saving queries can often serve as just a shortcut for submitting a (more complex) query again and again, and for electronic resource librarians it is interesting to check the CZ regularly for newly added collections which are freely available, e.g., or adhere to any other…

Show when a MMS record is Suppressed on the Electronic Collection search results
When using the Electronic Collection search, the results list does not show whether the MMS record is suppressed. This Idea is to suggest that the suppressed icon is displayed on the Electronic Collection search results when the MMS record is suppressed from discovery.
This is important if the Electronic Collection has CDI results - if the MMS record is suppressed from discovery, so too are all of the CDI results. So, when trouble-shooting why CDI records are not displaying as expected, it would be helpful to see the suppressed icon on the Electronic Collection search results page rather than having…

A new Community Zone Updates Task List report for when a portfolio changes vendors
CZ updates task list does not show titles switching from one vendor to another - that is a big issue for us. Eg. Philosophy of science changed from University of Chicago Press to Cambridge University. The portfolio URL is still Chicago Press, but one is redirected to Cambridge University.
Finding info in CZ updates is extraordinarily difficult. Mostly because there are thousands of titles we don't have any reason to look at.
It would be very helpful to be able to search the list by ISSN and OCLC number as well.
It would be helpful to have a report indicating…43 votesHi Liz,
We would like to better understand the situation of "portfolio changes vendors":
- Does this mean that the interface of the portfolio was changed?
- Is it enough to report this on collection/service level, and not in portfolio level?
- What actions would you take upon such report?
Thanks,
Tamar Fuches

Make electronic collection portfolios searchable by MMS ID
Within an electronic collection, we would like the ability to search for portfolios using MMS ID. This would be useful for some maintenance tasks. Currently, it is only possible to search by Title, ISBN and ISSN.

E-Resources: Make public note and authentication note translatable
In the editor of e-collection / service / portfolio, it is possible to set up the public note and authentication note. These are then displayed to the patron in Primo VE in the box with full-text link in view it section.
Currently it is a simple text box with no translation possibility. In our network we use 4 languages for the UI. Therefore, we require this field to be translatable so the note language adjusts to the patron interface in Primo VE.

Support local portfolio record creation using parser parameter linking
Alma electronic collections offer ‘parser parameter’ linking as an alternative to static URLs. Community Zone electronic collections generally use parser parameter linking. Currently there is no way of creating local bibliographic and portfolio records and at the point of record creation setting them to use parser parameter linking, and populating the portfolio record parser parameters field with the relevant bkey value for that title. If we want to use local bibliographic and portfolio records and use parser parameter linking, our only option is to create the records using static URLs and then subsequently edit the records to use parser parameters.

Add Electronic Collection Information to the Bib Record Enrichment Fields in the OAI Publishing Profile
Problem - Database type electronic collections are not getting published to Blacklight in the OAI publishing job. So bibliographic records that have database type electronic collection inventory attached, display as records without inventory in the catalog.
Situation as described by Ex Libris - The OAI publishing profile is designed to publish the BIB record plus the enrichment fields. The Collection enrichment in the profile is for the Digital Collection, not the Electronic collection. The descriptive BIB record does not have Electronic collection as its inventory, the inventory is only Physical/Electronic/Digital. Adding Electronic Collection to the descriptive BIBs would be an…

Add portolios from CZ Updates Task List to associated collection in bulk
The Community Zone Updates Task List displays portfolios that were added to a non auto-active collection. But you can only handle these portfolios one by one. It would be helpful to select the desired portfolios and to add them in bulk to the associated collection.
The planned solution from ExLibris to manage collections as auto-active collections is not wanted because not all portfolios that are automatically activated are interesting to the library (e. g. when the library has a specific book stock and does not provide its readers with all scientific disciplines).1 vote -
when importing, create portfolio links *after* Process / Normalization Rules ( NR ) are applied (and not before as it is now)
Right now static links in portfolios can be derived form 856 tags in imported MARC records.
Sometimes however we need to manipulate those links to fit the needs of our institution. We could do that easily with a process based on a Normalization Rule (NR) defined in the import profile. But this doesn't work, since our changes to 856 are not considered by Alma when creating the Static links in Portfolios. Our best guess is that static links are created before NR/process are applied and not after. That's a pity.
It would be great if static links were extracted from…29 votes -
Has Local Information on CZ Updates Task List shows up even when Global Coverage is being utilized instead
If a portfolio is using global coverage information, but has local coverage information remaining, the portfolio shows up in the CZ Updates Task List under "Has Local Information" when updates come in, even though local coverage is not being utilized. If local coverage is not selected, it would make more sense for it not to show up in the list since it's not being utilized and therefore does not really matter at that point.

Add a Delete button for portfolios in the Community Zone Updates Task List
Could a "Delete" button be added to the set of available options when reviewing portfolios in the CZ Updates Task List? There are options to Test Access and Edit the portfolio, but in order to delete a portfolio you must leave the list and do a separate search. It would be much more efficient if there was an option to delete from within the list.

Autoholdings integration for Nature (SpringerNature)
Create an autoholdings integration profile for Nature titles. The titles are already being sent from SpringerNature, however, they get rejected due to the fact that they are not included in the Springerlink CZ Collection for autoholdings. I assume that is due to the fact they have a different base URL (www.nature.com). The tools are already there for the integration. It would be nice to have all SpringerNature titles included in the process.

Implement auto holdings for Ebsco
Often there are many collections with Ebsco and it would be great to be able to have them on auto holding to have everything in one collection

Option to define another set of records to be included in the Database search
The database search in Primo includes only electronic collections with collection type “database” or electronic collections with a collection level URL and an unsuppressed bibliographic record.
Even though you can change the electronic material type of a portfolio to “database” these titles can’t be searched through the database search. This means we have to add local database collections even though the title can be activated through the community zone.
An example is the electronic collection “De Gruyter Databases”. I should like to be able to include these in the database search.47 votes -
POLs are not closed when Proquest Ebook Central Electronic Ressource is activated by Autoload
We are using Autoload with Proquest Ebook Central. When we create a POL for a Proquest title and connect this POL with the portfolio which came per Autoload and pay the invoice, the POL remains in Status "Sent". It has the Activation status: Activated E-Ressource", but the warning "Electronic Resource was not activated". Now we have to go to the portfolio per the electronic portfolio search, select "Create E-activation task", then go to the electronic resources activation task list entry for this resource and select "Done" to make this alert disappear. This also closes the PO Line, but this workflow…

Correct article level target links for records without assigned volume or issue numbers
For example, we see erroneous records (without working linking/availability) that are published ahead of print and which do not have specific volume/issue numbers. Until the publisher updates this information Primo links are directed to an error page.

Add indications to Electronic Service & Portfolios showing when portfolios use MARC metadata instead of parser parameters for linking
There are some electronic services and portfolios in the Alma CZ that do not use parser parameters. Instead, they use ISSN or some other element drawn from the MARC metadata to construct their links. However, there is no indication in Alma when a service or portfolio behaves this way. To the Alma user, it looks as if the portfolios must be misconfigured, as they have no parser parameters and no apparent way to link at the title level. This makes troubleshooting linking problems very difficult, and it conceals the actual linking functionality from Alma customers.
To be fully transparent with…

Electronic Coverage Dates should be in a date format and be available in Analytics as such
Currently, electronic coverage dates are considered as strings and not as Dates. We request to treat them like dates and add them to Analytics, in order to base reports on these dates.

Allow us to suppress the License from display when it is not ready with status of "Draft" or review status "In review"
For those waiting for review licenses, we will have status "Draft" and review status "In Review". These licenses are waiting to be checked and the fields are not verified for correctness. But now once the licenses are created with inventory added, all licenses are displayed out for the user, even with status “Draft” and “In Review”.
It will be great if only the licenses with “active” and “accepted” status can be displayed, but not the “Draft” and “In review” license that they are waiting to be verified.
