  1. Improve the Update Inventory Import Profile so that it can add standalone portfolios to electronic collection

When using the GOBI API to create e-book orders, we've chosen to not match to CZ collections, and prefer to use vendor provided marc records loaded via an update inventory import profile. The GOBI API creates standalone portfolios when PO lines are created. The Update inventory import profile lacks the ability to update standalone portfolios with electronic collection information.

If the Inventory tab > electronic resource mapping > portfolio type is set to part of an electronic collection, but the inventory in Alma is standalone, the import job will update the bib record but not the portfolio and yield the…

  2. Community-Managed electronic collections: Add several portfolios to one title

In Community-Managed electronic collections, it is not possible to contribute a second portfolio to the same title that is pointing to a different URL. Use case: Both URLs are valid, both contain copies (in part) of the journal. It would be nice, if the contribution only gets blocked, if the URL of the newly contributed portfolio is identical to the existing one.

  3. extended export to single file rather than multiple files for large collections

We would like to be able to run an extended export for large local collections that have more than 50,000 portfolios and receive a single file, rather than having to spend time manually pasting them together in excel to actually use them. the arbitrary limit serves us no purpose and adds steps to our workflow. we have very limited tools to manage local collections and this is something that has bothered our staff for years.

  4. Ability to add an accessibility note at the electronic collection level

Because some MARC bibliographic records may be attached to e-portfolios in multiple e-collections, adding a 532 in the MARC record may not apply to all e-portfolios. Many e-collection providers will include accessibility information on their site. Perhaps an accessibility note could be added at the e-collection level separate from the Authentication and Public notes.

  5. Add Alma Analytics search and reporting features for the new Administrator tab in license records.

Please add Alma Analytics search and reporting features for the new Administrator tab in license records. This will help facilitate management of staff members' assignments, reducing the risk of duplication/ confusion to occur within the workflow. Thank you for your consideration.

  6. Import Profiles - support mapping to E-Collection

    See https://enhancements.exlibrisusers.org/ideas/AENH-I-36318

We need the ability to map to Electronic Collection. Because you cannot map to E-Collection, you have to have a separate profile for each collection for which you want to load portfolios. This dramatically increases the number of profiles we need to maintain. In addition, this requires more staff to have the ability to modify import profiles, even though the only thing changing each time is the collection name.

Mapping either the collection name (exact match) or the collection ID would be sufficient. This will enable more uniform loading of records.

  7. Remove 'Level URL' from CZ collections

We'd like to move more Electronic Collections onto fewer bib records to help with organisation of our e-resources within Alma. If there are multiple IZ collections linked to an unsuppressed bib record, you can control how many URLs display in the Primo record by controlling which Electronic Collections have Level URLs. However, this is not possible when using CZ collections as there is already a Level URL hardcoded into the collection. I don't think it's possible to override the Level URL with 'nothing' to hide that collection's link from Primo. We'd like the ability to be able to hide that…

  8. Add "linking information" in Community zone databases when they are not activated yet

    Hello,
When I look in the Community Zone at an electronic Portfolio that has not been activated by us yet, I can click on "Linking Information" and test the link and control if it goes where we want it to go.

Unfortunately, this is not possible yet, when we want to look at a zero title database. There, we actually can only test the link after we have activated it.

Therefore, I suggest adding the field "Linking information" on database level, too, for databases that are not activated yet; analogous to the field that exists on portfolio level.
    Best,
    Igor…

  9. Contributed collections - a Report to Contributor instead of Report to Ex Libris

There are many collections now that are contributed by the community. Sometimes there are errors within them and as it is now, there is no way to report that and get the linking problem (for an example) fixed and the issues can be so many that a deactivation is necessary, but then the collection becomes dead and just clutter KB. My suggestion is that when a institution contributes a collection, a mandatory field is added to the workflow of contributing. This field contains an email address. That email address is then incorporated into a button so you can report to…

  10. Sort collections by creation/modification date

It would be very helpful to be able to sort collections in the Community Zone by creation date, modification date, and total activations. Some collections (especially older ones) are not well maintained, or newer versions are added without older versions being removed. Being able to sort collections by creation date or modification date would help to be able to select the most updated collection. It would also be beneficial to be able to sort by the total activations, as the ones with the higher numbers are more likely to be the best one.

  11. Export electronic portfolios to one file regardless of electronic collection

Per the documentation at the link below, when using the Export Electronic Portfolios job, "each collection is written to a separate file ... even if you select the One File option". We would like the option to export to one file regardless of collection. This would support better integration between Alma and other systems by allowing libraries to more easily provide complete data on electronic holdings.

It is possible to use publishing profiles to publish electronic holdings in the form of MARC or XML, but these formats are not as easily processed by 3rd party vendors. It is also possible…

  12. Possible to build a workflow into Alma to accomodate third party WCAG compliance?

UK Libraries are monitoring this as individual institutions - could Alma build a workflow to flag electronic resources that meet / are working towards WCAG compliance? If details are stored (Yes/No) and links to URL compliance statements users could then use Analytics to report on progress and perform annual updates with suppliers to meet our responsibilities. Perhaps to save each Institution handling it themselves? https://www.jisc.ac.uk/guides/accessibility-regulations-what-you-need-to-know

  13. Improve search "electronic titles" to include results with and without inventory

At the moment, when using the search "electronic titles" only titles with inventory can be found. Apparently, this is by design. It would be an obvius improvement to be able to find all electronic titles regardless of inventory when using this search.

  15. adding titles from community zone to institution zone collection without having to activate community zone collection

When finding another portfolio that is not in you collection you can today activate and move the portfolio to you IZ collection. Then you have to remember to delete the collection where it was in the first place. Make it possible to add it directly in to your IZ

  16. Alma Show Access Type value (e.g. Perpetual ) in Alma brief view search for Electronic Collections

Please show Access Type in Alma brief view search for Electronic Collections.
Access Type is quite important, since it may be not only Current but also Perpetual or Current and Perpetual. From the brief view many operation, included deletion, can be performed. Having this information at first glance, if possible together with a warning on deletion attempt as suggested here ( https://ideas.exlibrisgroup.com/forums/308173-alma/suggestions/42179845-prevent-deletion-of-portfolios-with-access-type-pe ) may help preventing accidental deletion of important perpetual assets.

  17. Need more facets electonic collection search

When searching for items in the CZ, I find the left side facets and sort by options to be too limited.
Would love a way to sort electronic collections by most recently added to CZ.
for example, I am looking to see if any new gale collections were added so I can activate them. There is no way to sort by this, and there is no facet on the left to limit to non-activated collections. Adding a left facet to search for In IZ or activated/non-activated collections would be very helpful.

  18. Add the ability to apply multiple rolling embargoes to a single electronic portfolio

If a portfolio has access to two sets of rolling publication dates, it would be helpful to have the option to apply multiple rolling embargoes. For example, an institution might access to the last 10-20 years of publication as well as the last 3 years of the publication, both on a rolling basis.

  19. Display NZ activated Portfolios even if Related Records Services are enabled in an IZ

In our consortial environement, we have activaded a number of portfolios on NZ level, which we would then expect to also be available in our IZs. Often this is not the case and instead of a specific article that is part of the portfolio, only the journal it belongs to is displayed under Services for Related Titles. As Ex Libris informed us, this is because Related Records Services are activated in our consortium, which leads the link resolver to display those related journals instead of checking if there is an NZ activated portfolio. Their solution to this would be to…
