Read only view of user record information
There is a need to provide our faculty librarians with a role that allows for a read only view of the user record information e.g. user details, addresses, contact details, etc.

We get requests along these lines from library staff who do not have user manager or circulation manager roles. Specifically, they click the User Details link under the User Menu on the persistent menu, expecting to either review their personal data or review their active roles. Instead, they get a page that says they're not allowed to view the data.
These staff don't need to modify the data directly, but being able to review their data is useful. Otherwise, why provide a "User Details" link if there's no ability to actually view those details?

I think this would be great here too. Our SIS overwrites any changes staff make to patron borrowing records at next sync and we want it as a reminder that changes must be processed through our SIS interface, not through Alma - and read only fields would be great to enforce that
Furthermore, many libraries operate with student staff members after hours (we do, I believe Curtin does too). It may not be desirable to give these staff members write access to these fields - but only read them for identity verification. Alma is used as part of our 100 point ID check for patrons calling by phone.

At Curtin this idea would be good for our Librarians as well. Sometimes they need to know what type of access a student has, before they can provide a rounded service to them. As the student is not always in front of them, and they also don't always know what they are entitled to access. In these cases, the staff member just needs to view the student records, not to update or change anything. In the interest of security it would be preferable to have view only access. Currently they are required to ask Fulfillment staff for this information, who may not always be available at the right times.

Hi,
Can you elaborate on the use case for this type of role ?
