"Make Toggle Missing Status Available from item editor"
To mark an item as missing, you must currently use the Toggle Missing Item option from the inline action menu, which only displays when you are viewing a list of items attached to a given bib record. However, if you search for the item using a physical item search, and only one item matches your search criteria (for example, if you search by barcode), then the item record opens automatically in the physical item editor. There is no option to toggle the missing status from this screen. Operators must remember to perform a title search, instead of a physical item search (counter intuitive, since only a physical item can be missing), and then drill down to the list of item records from the title record. It would be nice to be able to toggle the missing status from the physical item editor.

Our library recently migrated to Alma and the inability to mark an item missing from a barcode repository search is frustrating and quite a time waster. Hoping to see this is a future Alma release soon.

This one seems like a no-brainer -- just like it was five years ago when it was first posted. :)

New Alma user in 2020 -- I guess we're still waiting for this. I heartily support making this available from any context where one is editing item data.

This is so clunky. I had to google the documentation.

Totally agree, the current situation is so unintuitive!

Or at least make it available from the inline actions menu when you do a physical items search. It seems completely un-intuitive that you can't do this action on a physical item from a physical item search, only from an all titles search.
