Pick the fields that can be exported to Excel in a set
Currently, we are limited by a pre-determined list of fields that we can export from a set. E.g. If i have a set of "Electronic Collections" or "Electronic Portfolio" records, why can't i export the URL field? Many other useful fields are also not available. Is this a challenge technically?
Dear Community,
I am writing to inform you of a recent change that affects the status of an enhancement you have created or supported in the Idea Exchange: As part of our ongoing commitment to align our internal development processes and increase roadmap transparency with our community, some Ideas that were previously marked as “Planned” have been reassigned a status of “Accepted”.
The “Accepted” status signifies that the Alma Product Management team recognizes the value of these Ideas and is committed to their development. However, enhancements are not expected to make it onto The Roadmap in the next year. We believe that this change will ultimately benefit our user community by providing a more realistic and transparent view of Alma development.
We appreciate your understanding and patience as we implement this change. We understand that this change may lead to disappointment or frustration, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience it may cause. Please know that your ideas and suggestions are extremely important to us, and we are committed to continually enhancing Alma based on your valuable input.
Thank you for your continued effort in enhancing Alma. Your contributions are invaluable to us, and we look forward to continuing to work together to make Alma the best it can be.
Most sincerely,
Tamar Fuches

It would also be helpful to separate repeated fields with semicolon instead comma, and all repetition are exported.
For example, field "Seen From" of Authorities, now are exported this way:
Església Catòlica. Sínodo dos Bispos, Església Catòlica. Bishops’ Synod on Catechesis, Bishops’ Synod on Catechesis (Església Catòlica) and others -

Is there a timeframe for when this will be developed? In all Excel exports we would like to be able to specify separate columns for title, author, and publication information.

Still no option to customize which fields can be exported?
Accessionnumber and Signature would be really useful -

This is incredibly useful and would save a lot of staff time. Is there any sort of status update that you can give us?

I am also curious if there has been any progress on this idea as well, it would be great to be able to create spreadsheets that include call numbers for assisting librarians, technicians & students when withdrawing items.

Re Users - It would be nice if a numeric user ID exported with patrons, instead of just names for ID.

Thanks Dana, this is great news! We've been struggling with exporting portfolio information when the portfolios aren't confined to one collection. We often have a set of ISSNs we need to collect information on, and right now we have to look them up one by one and view their fields. If possible, it would be a huge help for us to be able to export the URL, Public Note, Internal Description, and the Notes tab on a set.

The MMSID is the top of our wishlist for additional fields for the Results set export. Is there any timeframe on when this will be developed?

In addition, we would love to see the ability to export the Internal Description and Public Note of the portfolios.

MMSID and barcode would be very helpful, as well as Tag Suppressed. Also, it looks like the Creator/Publisher column is concatenating the 33Xs, 245 $c, and 260/264 all together. This is very confusing - it would help if these were separate data elements.

I do need to sound a note of caution when putting the MMS ID into a standard Excel document. Even if stored as text, Excel is configured to give only 15 digits of precision for numerical strings and Alma MMS IDs are, wait for it, 16 digits.
This means that when you enter an MMS ID, Excel will change it to exponential notation, rounding it down and converting the final digit to a 0. This often only happens after you do something with the cell and can catch you out. There are workarounds in Excel, but it's unfortunate that the MMS IDs are so long.

Very pleased to see this planned. I hope that the export will allow individual MARC fields in separate columns as well rather than the current export of 100 and 300 fields in a single column preceded with "Book by" for exports from bibliographic sets. While more is possible in Analytics, having better export functionality linked to the Repository Search would be very welcome indeed.

I strongly support this, in particular the inclusion of the MMS ID. This is essential for being able to import a set from Alma into Alma Analytics. It is not satisfactory to use the Export functionality since that requires the use of a third-party tool such as MarcEdit to extract the MMS ID/001 data.

We have some local collections that use a local redirect URL. We have switched platforms and need to update these URLs to a new form. Since there is no way to export from anywhere a report with the URLs in a set of e-collection records someone is having to go through about 500 records and check the URLs individually (it does not appear that you can even search on the electronic collection URL). It's also frustrating not to be able to export URLs for local standalone portfolios. The URL is often a necessary match point for maintenance projects.

For physical items, the normalized call number should be exportable, both from sets and in the Export Items job.
