We will add a field to the course record in Alma, reportable in Analytics, for the faculty/school. It could be used for reporting purposes but not for discovery purposes. In other words, you will be able to pull list usage by faculty/school, but end users will not be able to browse by faculty/school.

    Dear all,

As part of the new UX of the All Titles search, it will be possible to view the bibliographic record in the details pane of the record (on the right side of the screen or in full view), and navigate between the records in the search using up/down arrow buttons as well as by selecting another record in the search list (on the left side or the screen).

Would very much appreciate this. Does this maybe tie in with the long standing suggestion to add a 'Back to Repository Search' button, which has over 140 votes.

    Alasdair.

I have no votes left until some planned ideas reach fruition, so cannot add my support for this until I get some votes back.

To add though, I would support allowing individual cataloguers the option of defining their own default templates and also allowing Cataloguer Extended the option of editing and managing their own templates. it is a bit of a problem having one default for all.

Yesterday, we wanted to upload an Excel file to create basic records for a local electronic collection, which required a custom template. In order to get this to work, I had to make it the default template, meaning that all my team had this as their default while the job was being run.

If Cataloguer Extened people can delete things, surely the can be trusted with template creation?

After reviewing this idea, Alma Product Management has decided to update our development plans to include this suggested change. Thank you for your contribution

    Kinglsey -

I do need to sound a note of caution when putting the MMS ID into a standard Excel document. Even if stored as text, Excel is configured to give only 15 digits of precision for numerical strings and Alma MMS IDs are, wait for it, 16 digits.

This means that when you enter an MMS ID, Excel will change it to exponential notation, rounding it down and converting the final digit to a 0. This often only happens after you do something with the cell and can catch you out. There are workarounds in Excel, but it's unfortunate that the MMS IDs are so long.

Very pleased to see this planned. I hope that the export will allow individual MARC fields in separate columns as well rather than the current export of 100 and 300 fields in a single column preceded with "Book by" for exports from bibliographic sets. While more is possible in Analytics, having better export functionality linked to the Repository Search would be very welcome indeed.
