  1. Allow renaming of normalization, indication, and merge rules

Please allow renaming of normalization, indication, and merge rules. Right now you can only duplicate the rule and change the name of the copied rule.

  2. Bring back the Galileo portfolio holdings in the institutional bibliographic record.

There was a time in which the Alma portfolios for e-journals directly replicated the holdings for the institution that are shown through the Primo userface. Now that this is no longer the case, we're seeing more errors for deactivating and withdrawing journals that we do still have access to, despite not being able to see those available portfolios on the back-end of Alma. This is a problem.

  3. Add a linking job for mass linking of NZ records to IZ

Currently the only way to use records from NZ in an IZ is to search them in the NZ and perform an action like "order" or "link" on every single record one by one. There are, however, situations where an IZ wants to use a bulk of records. For this purpose we need a possibility to link records in bulk and create inventory for the linked records.

We imagine a linking job that takes as an input a logical or itemized set of records saved from a search in the NZ. The linking job can create physical and electronic (and…

  4. Put full 100 field information in search results

Please put the full 1XX field in the search results.

We have many people with the same or similar names which are distinguished by dates or other information from the 100 field. It would be very useful to have all the personal name information this display in the metadata editor and also to be available in the Excel download of the search results.

  5. read only view of bibliographic record information

There is a need to provide our faculty librarians with a role that allows for a read only view of the bibliographic record information.

  6. Indication that shows I edited an open record

Icons in MD-Editor only show if a record has been saved or not. I would like to have an indication to see if the record has been edited by me after I opened it.

  7. Include pagination in brief display

After scanning all titles ISBN I have to open the bib record to check the pagination. Include pagination in brief results display so I (or a student worker) can go directly to the item to scan in the barcode.

  8. Identify headings linked to authority records in Simple Record View

I frequently consult the Simple Record View page of bibliographic records when working on the Authority Control Task List. This view, however, does not indicate which headings are linked to authority records and which are not. The only place in Alma to confirm this is through the Metadata Editor.

This proposal recommends adding a marker (such as the binoculars icon found in the Metadata Editor) to those fields in the Simple Record View with headings linked to authority records. This would save a step in the Task List review process, not to mention being helpful to any Alma user looking…

  9. Sorting Authority Task List

It would be highly helpful to have a sorting filter in the Authority Task List that would allow us to sort the list by Fields (e.g. 100's,600's, 700's, 830's,): Personal Names, Corporations/Conferences, Subject, Title, Uniform Titles, and Series. This way work loads can be created and assigned for these specific areas. As things are now, all items are mixed together and it takes far too much time to find/create a single list.

  10. cataloging level defaults

We have cataloging levels enabled in Alma. We would like the default for imports to be higher than the lowest level. Currently, all imports from import and integration profiles are assigned the lowest level, and the only way to change them is to run a job after importing.

  11. EuroVoc Thesaurus implementation

Add EuroVoc http://eurovoc.europa.eu to Authority Vocabulary.
It is the multilingual, multidisciplinary thesaurus covering the activities of the EU.

  12. MD editing shortcuts need to be more applicable

In MD Editor, Shortcuts are originally designed to speed up editing and make cataloging easier and faster. However, if you use them, you will find that, for example, Remove Field ctr + F6, There is a dozen centimeters between F6 and ctl,I can't complete this operation with one hand. I think maybe this is specifically designed for people with big hands. In fact, most cataloguers are females, and most of their hands are small.
In addition to Add Field F8, Add Subfield F9, you have to use the right hand, those who are accustomed to the left-handed right mouse button, instead…

  13. Want to view more of a bibliographic record when editing without having to scroll

There is currently quite a lot of unused space above and below a bibliographic record. It would be great if I could drag the bottom of the bibliographic record down further when I am editing so that I can view as much of the record as possible at once.

  14. Use the same font and formatting in the MD Editor and View Versions pane

Alma currently uses a different font in the View Versions display than that used in the MD Editor. The records are also formatted differently, with the field number being center justified against the corresponding field, rather than the number appearing at the beginning of the field. Line spacing is also different between the two versions.

These design issues make comparing two versions of a record side-by-side much more difficult than it should be.

Please use the same font and formatting in both the MD Editor and the View Versions record display. The use of shading in alternate fields (as in…

  16. Re-sequence MARC fields by each tag when running a normalization rule

Currently, after running a normalization rule on a set of bib records, the bib records display the 5XX fields out of order, e.g. 500, 546, 506 etc. This occurs even after running the CnmarcBibReSequenceTask as fields between 500 and 899 are not sorted, or sorted only by hundreds (this was the information given to us by a member of staff when we reported the issue on the ExLibris Customer Portal).

Having all fields in the correct order would ease any future cataloguing needed on these records, or when staff members view the record for work purposes.

    I've attached an example…

  17. Include authority cross-references in Browse Bib Headings

The very useful Browse Bib Headings tool includes only information from bib records. It would be extremely useful if it also included authority cross-references for controlled headings, similar to how the Primo browse works. This way, if a user tries to use the Browse Bib Headings and enters the non-preferred term, the cross-reference will let them know that they need to search on the preferred term.

  18. Bibliographic creation date should be original load date

Currently, when you reload a bibliographic record, it updates the creation date, so you have no way of knowing when the record was loaded for the first time. This makes statistics gathering difficult. It would make more sense to have some sort of original creation date (at least in analytics), so you can see when that bibliographic record/MMSID was created in the system for the first time.
