Library of Last Resort
Hello. On the 'Level of service required' drop-down menu, could you add 'Library of last resort' as an option? Or have it as a standalone field to tick? Thanks.

Add Print slips option on Active Hold Shelf Screen
It appears ALMA does not have the ability to generate an email (print job) to print hold slips for items that are returned with pending holds.
A great option whether the ability to have those slips print automatically upon return is developed or not, is to force print applicable hold slips from the active hold shelf screen.
In theory, if an item is returned with a pending hold, when the item is scanned as returned the hold is activated and as a result should appear on the "active hold shelf" list . If a slip does not print, the staff…

We need to be able to limit the number of patron holds
We have patrons inundating us with hold requests. We'd like to be able to configure Alma to limit holds by amount.

Request Status Reason Displayed to Staff on Expired Shelf List
It would be useful to have the reason why a Request is now in the Expired Shelf List.
Recently a user cancelled a request the day after it went onto the Hold Shelf.
Staff were under the impression that there must have been a problem with Alma as the Held Until Date was just one day after the Held Since Date. It took a bit of digging to find out that the user had actually cancelled the request (we had to go to the user account and have a look at the attachments to find out what had happened).5 votes -
More Options for Sorting in Pick from Shelf List
It would be really helpful to be able to sort items in the Pick from Shelf list by date. The facets are somewhat helpful, but sorting by date would make it more clear which requests have come in more recently today, for institutions that are monitoring requests as they come in during the day.
Sorting by some of the other facets would probably also be helpful when you don't want them filtered out, just sorted: location, pickup institution, material type, etc.

Monitor Requests & Item Process Activity Status Filter
Add Activity Status: Rejected to "Monitor Requests & Item Processes"
It would be extremely helpful to have the Activity Status Rejected on the "Monitor Requests & Item Processes" Activity Status Filters. If it could be added as an option with Active, Completed and All, that would remove a ton of extra time and labor for our fulfillment processes.5 votes -
"Pick from shelf" facets - group by time
We would like to be able to group "Pick from Shelf" requests from today and yesterday.
This option would be the standard option we would use most days, to avoid constantly searching the shelf for items which are not in place..None of the existing facets in this screen result in the full list of most recent requests.
What we need is a combination of "today" and "yesterday".3 votesSubmitted by Ex Libris PM on behalf of our customers

Clone Requests
We have a need to easily copy requests, especially booking requests. For example, our media library frequently needs to book the same item for the same faculty member multiple times. A faculty member may be teaching 3 sections of the same course, on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The library staff member would like to make a single request on Monday, and copy the request for Tuesday and Thursday easily, or add multiple dates/times to the same booking request.

Export normalized call numbers for requested items in the "Print Slip Report" feature
When the "Print Slip Report" feature in Fulfillment > Resource Requests > Pick From Shelf is exported into a spreadsheet, LC call numbers are included—but normalized call numbers are not. This leads to less efficiency in pulling requested items (e.g., size designations sort under "Q" for "Quarto," LC class numbers of differing length sort improperly). Please add a normalized call number column to the output for proper sorting by call number.

Display Requester when "activate next" on expired hold shelf
On the Expired Hold Shelf - Activate Next the expired requester name is displayed, however when you "activate next" Alma processes the request but doesn’t display who it is for.
It would be really usefull for Alma to display the Next Requester information at this point.
Currently you need to track down the item in Active Hold Shelf to find the next requester.

Filter Pick From Shelf List, Active Hold Shelf, and Expired Hold Shelf by Patron Physical Item Request or Ship Physically
Currently, the Pick From Shelf list, Active Hold Shelf, and Expired Hold Shelf don't allow the items displayed in the list to be filtered. If Resource Sharing requests ("ship physically") and Patron Physical Item Requests must be combined, it would be much more useful to be able to filter out one or the other. It makes it difficult for Circulation staff to monitor the pick list and active and expired holds when we can't filter out the Resource Sharing requests that we don't work with, and the same holds for our Resource Sharing staff.

Add an option to control the request types that are presented in Alma
We suggest to add an option to control the request types that are presented in Alma. For example, we would like to present only: "Patron physical item request" . It would be helpful if we could at least control the items order.

Enable comments to patrons in digitization requests
Enabling comments to the patrons in digitization (and physical too) requests.
For example a patron requests Chapter 1, pages 1-40 in their digitization request but Chapter 1 is actually pages 1-24. There should be a way to attach Chapter 1 then send along a comment to the patron: "Chapter 1 has been attached. Request indicated pages 1-40 but this included Chapter 1 and part of Chapter 2 which goes beyond copyright allowance."
There is currently a comment field, but this comment is internal. So, rather than having the ability to add comments to the file as it goes to the…

Fulfillment Network AFN- Add "Manual Locate Job" id to Borrowing Request details; Add Borrowing Request ID to "Manual Locate Job" details
In an Automated Fulfillment Network (AFN), when an institution's user places a resource sharing borrowing request, Alma runs the "Manual Locate Job" to build the rota for the request. The job report can be viewed in the Admin> Manage Jobs and Sets> Monitor Jobs> Job History.
Currently, the only way to match the "Manual Locate Job" for a specific user's borrowing request, back to that borrowing request as listed in Fulfillment> Resource Sharing> Borrowing Request is by timestamp.
Please add the Manual Locate Job's identifier to the user's Fulfillment> Resource Sharing> Borrowing Request details, as well as adding the Borrowing…

Add fields to specifiy the work order type or workorder status to the print slip for 'manage in process items'
The print slip for items in the Fulfillment > Manage in process items uses the ReceivingSlipLetter.
This is the workflow suggested by trainers for things like repairs or other technical work order flows.
The letter does not have the XML fields that would reflect work order type or work order status.
Development says this is an enhancement request, as they designed this letter for acquisitions work orders (case 00725539)4 votes -
See the same information in Monitor Requests & Item Process menu that is seen in Borrowing Requests menu
It would be helpful to see the same information in the different places a staff member might check to see the status of a patron request. In the attached document, you'll see that there is much more useful information in the borrowing requests menu, including the preferred pickup location which is a critical detail. Can we have the same info display in both?

When a hold expires, have them display in the task list
In the same way that requests show in the task list, it would be helpful that when the hold is expired that it will also show in the task list. People would see on their desktop if an item needs to be shelved or returned to a campus library, instead of remember to check the Expire Hold shelf.

Provide a configuration to limit by material type to a specific pick-up location
For institutions with multiple libraries where only one library may have A/V viewers or microform readers it would be helpful for that institution to limit the pick-up location by material type to the library that has the necessary equipment for onsite use.
This would eliminate confusion and time delay when a user makes a request to pick up a material type at a location where they cannot use it onsite.4 votes
