  1. User Record Templates

    It would be great if the library could create "templates" for different types of user records that automatically fill in things like the User Group and that have different required fields depending on the type of template. This would make it easier for staff to create user records on the spot.

  2. Possibility to duplicate a Staff User record

    We do use Role Profiles to create new Sfaff Users as easily as possible.
    However, we have about 30 sublibraries and colleagues, some of them working in several libraries or have special WO Department permissions, etc. Therefore we do not have suitable Role Profiles for all combinations.

    It would be great if we could duplicate an existing Staff User record instead of having to create a user from scratch.

  3. Bulk update block expiry date

    In January 2018, fulfillment enhancement was added to allow library staff to manually add a block expiry date and edit the expiration date on an existing block. (See https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/010_2018/12_January_2018/Alma_January_2018_Release_Notes/04Fulfillment_-_January_2018_Enhancements)

    We would really like to have the option to input a block expiry date in the bulk update/notify users job when adding a block type, instead of manually adding the blocks with expiry date one at a time for a batch of library user records.

  4. Add "Status" to user searches

    There is no current method for adding "Status" to the list of available selections when running a User search in Alma; as such, the only way to find a list of active users is to either use the filter provided post-search (the selections in which are "All," "Active and not expired," and "Not active and expired") or to use Analytics.

    However, these filter options exclude searches for users who are both Active and Expired, and using Analytics to create a report for this result requires multiple steps to set up before you can get a result (and subsequently run jobs…

  5. add course name to the course tab on the user profile

    At the moment the only columns available in the Course tab on the user profile is course code and section.

    Course codes will often consist of a line of numbers so the option to add course name as a column would add great value.

  7. User action history report

    Our institution's security protocols require systems that handle confidential patron/student data have the ability to log backend staff user actions. After inquiring to ExL, the only way to know what a staff member has done in the system is to go through their individual history tab. However, this data is incomplete and doesn't give a full scope of what actions they took. In Analytics, the options provided are not useful and do not give us any useful information.

    We'd like to track things like:
    - When roles were issued
    - Who issued roles
    - Changes in configuration and who made…

  8. Add option for patron name suffixes like Jr., Sr., or III

    Name searches in Alma for names containing suffixes like Jr., Sr., or III yield strange results.

    Example: Someone named Joe Johnson Jr. will have first name "Joe" and last name as "Johnson Jr." When performing searches in Alma for "Joe Johnson", "Joe Johnson*", or "Joe *Jr." will not yield any results.

    Alma looks for "Jr." as a last name rather than the person's surname. This isn't helpful when SIS has the suffix but the patron may not use the suffix all the time in their everyday life.

  9. Add 'Assigned date' to user roles

    We often need to know the date that a role was first added to a user's account. The status date is not static and because we use the API for updates from our SIS the status date often gets updated with random dates. The API updates also make the history tab difficult to use to track down role additions versus changes.

    We should be able to easily see a column that includes the date a role was initially assigned/added in the context of all of their roles in the General Information tab.

  12. Internal data and all non-fulfillment data deleted from external account when accounts are loaded from external system through API

    Updating users from an external source (such as Banner) using the API means that any non-fulfillment information will be deleted such as Roles (the only role left is the Patron role), barcodes, alternate addresses, emails, phone numbers, fines/fees, blocks, attachments, proxy information.

    Would it be possible to make sure that an account's update from Banner through the API only affects the fields supported by Banner without wiping off any other fields?

  13. Adding newly registered patrons to the 'Recent patrons'-list

    Being able to see patrons entered in a session is very useful, but it would be great if the recent list also included new patrons registered during the session.

    Often times, patrons for instance request registration before they find the books they want to borrow. If we could easily access their patron services page when they return with them, it would streamline the process.

  14. Create a job to send a notification letter to users when their expiry date is near so they can request to renew their library user account

    The option to notify users whose accounts have or will expire of their options for renewing their library user account would help us to stay engaged with users whose library user account will expire soon (or has recently expired). Users who want to continue using their library account can renew it prior to the expiry date, thus reducing any barriers to accessing their account and using library materials.

    A notification letter could be created to support this type of messaging. It would be great if a job could be scheduled to send to users whose expiry date is upcoming. It…

  16. Make address fields one of the searchable fields in user searches

    Addresses on a patron record (at least the preferred address fields) need to be a searchable field in the universal search box on the dashboard.
    We often find a need to on the fly find all the patrons who might come from a particular address.

  17. Make the Send Message emails more customisable

    Today it is possible to send messages to individual users from the General Information tab on the User Details screen, but the functionality is very basic. To be truly useful it should be possible to create your own templates and to customise them the same way we can customise Alma Letters. Without the usual letter components, such as a header with the institution logo, which are present in other Alma letters, the messages look unprofessional and can easily be mistaken as spam.   18. Ability to pin and fix the facet in authorities search

    It would be great if the search facet in the authorities search could be pinned and fixed, so you don't have to click and expand the facets every time you want to filter on a specific vocabulary

  19. Improve “Chat for Support” role to add product specific scoping or separate roles per product

    As more products are added and managed by the Alma HEP it becomes a concern that Ex Libris is not adding necessary granularity for roles. The “Chat for Support” role does not have any granularity for different products.
    For example, we would like for some of our senior acquisitions staff to have visibility and ability to open Chat sessions for minor title by title issues with Rialto, which we have recently implemented.   20. New role for limited user account editing

    It would be helpful if we had a separate role for User Operator that could edit any user account's contact details and merge user records as well as run analytics on users BUT not change or add roles attached to that account OR delete records. This is primarily to allow circulation staff more control over user accounts but to restrict access to higher-level abilities for cybersecurity reasons.
