Reporting on historical location changes
Analytics should allow users to run reports on historical location changes e.g. identify items that were moved from Branch A to Branch B or different locations in the same branch. This information is visible in the Item history tab; it should be made available for management reports.

Dear Colleagues,
Thank you for submitting your suggestion. After careful review, we have determined that this request necessitates an event in Alma for a permanent location change, before it can be incorporated into our analytics. However, considering the current level of support for this idea, we regret to inform you that we have decided to close it.
If you have any further questions or need clarification, please feel free to reach out.
Best regards,

I would love to be able to run a report on historical location changes. We often transfer items in bulk by set and use the "Change Physical Item" job and unless we keep that information, we are not able to access it later. We would like the ability to put together a query in Analytics to find the information when items move from one location to another! We don't always use "Move Permanently" requests or put the items In Transit to move them. Thanks for considering.

My library would like to report on permanent location changes as well. We would like to be able to retrieve information in Analytics about materials that have permanently moved from one location to another based on the information in the history tab.

I have a salesforce case open 00803127 - Andrea (Ex Libris) agrees this is not possible she has advised -
The "Item went into transit" information which is available on the “Physical Items Historical Events” subject area is for temporarily changed information but not for permanently changed information like a location change.
I would like to report on the permanent location changes within analytics as this information is view able within the history tab of each individual item.

Thank you for this suggestion.
Here is a comment and inquiry. Your response will be greatly appreciated.
It is assumed that if an item moves from one library to another library or from one location to another location in the same library then it is "transited" (meaning it went into transit and was eventually scanned in at the circulation desk of the destination library or location). The "Item Historical Events" dashboard at "/shared/Alma/Item Historical Events/Dashboards" uses the subject area "Physical Item Historical Events".
Currently there is a folder in this subject area which is called 'Item went into transit".
It includes, among others, the fields "Transit from library" and "Transit to Library".
This can be used to find items which were transited from one library to another library.Do you want us also to add "Transit from location" and "Transit to location" to this folder?
If you want something different than "Transit from location" and "Transit to location" to this folder then please elaborate and explain. -
