The ""Append to field"" option was added in November 2023, but two additional options are still required.

1. 'Delimiter' should be an option.
Nowm,the default delimiter is ";".
Some institutions use symbols other than ";" as delimiters.
For example, "|"?.
Therefore, there is a need to make the delimiter optional.

2. Writing forward in the note
The current specification is to write backwards.
Some institutions operate writing new information in the front of the note.
There are three reasons for this.
(1)It is easier to manually add notes at the front of the notebook
(2)It is easier to see on the Alma screen if the note is written forward
(3)Analytics cuts off backwards text if it exceeds VARCHAR(4000)
Therefore, it should be optional to append forward or backward.

The default delimiter is ";". Could we use other delimiter, for example, "|"?

We still need this.

I hope this isn't too off-topic: find-replace contents of notes would be wonderful. (Including replace with nothing)

This append option should include the possibility to mark the new note as popup or visible to user.

This would be especially helpful for institutions who have just migrated and need to add information to different notes fields than the fields to which the information was migrated. Instead, if notes need to be added, currently, these notes need to be added one-by-one, record-by-record.

This seems to have languished, as it has been here since 2016. It is a much needed improvement to the system and has a large number of votes so I hope Ex Libris will begin its implementation!

This idea is great, and it is also very important to many libraries. I hope it can be carried out as soon as possible. Thank you.

This would be ideal for ALL note fields that can be changed through this job. We often need to bulk add notes to the fulfillment note, and it would be nice to not have it delete existing notes.

It would also be extremely helpful if we could PREPEND information...maybe the option to add text either at the beginning or at the end of what is already there.

Being able to APPEND information to the end of an existing note without wiping out the other contents would also be really helpful
