  1. Improve handling of requests on multiple copies across multiple holdings

    Scenario:
    Multiple patrons place physical item requests on a title that has multiple available copies spread across multiple holdings records in different branches

    Current outcome:
    All the requests get attached to a single holding
    Multiple requests are assigned a queue position of 0
    When a request slip is printed from the pick list all requests with a queue position of 0 are printed (even though there aren't enough copies at that branch to fill all of the printed request slips)
    Once the retrieved item is scanned in and placed on the hold shelf or in transit the remaining requests move…

  2. Add support to scan in item screen to allow requests to be satisfied by items in hand

    We would like to be able to directly deal with requests in the queue via way of the scan in item screen in Alma. Currently if you scan in an item to satisfy a request, and it's not part of the requesting pool then you cannot satisfy the request - even if the request is for something simple like partial digitization, and you have the item in hand. You also cannot currently satisfy requests in the queue which aren't at the head of the queue - ie ready to process at position 0.

  3. Preserve the requests when edit an item and save

    When modifying an item and saving, the related requests on the item might be cancelled. We hope for preserving the requests if the item was changed. Or the system can provide a selection button, and the librarian can decide whether to cancel the request or not.

  6. Pages option for digitization requests

    Creating a partial Patron digitization request allows you to define two "from: / to:" page intervals. Sometimes, articles are spread across more intervals, but with no space for this information, that data is lost.
    We would like to see a simple text field: "Pages:" to be used in situations as this. This already exists in Lending requests and should also be available for digitization requests.

  7. Customize "Create Request" Drop Down Menu

    It'll be great if we could customize the language or the order of the "create request" drop down menu. For example, we aren't going to offer booking or digitization requests. It'll be more effective if "patron physical request item" was the default value or if we could word it slightly different so that our staff could easily identify it as a hold request.

  8. Scan item barcode in Manage Patron Services

    When using "Fulfillment -> Manage Patron Services" to view a user's account, the "Submit Request" button presumably could be used to put a hold request on an item for that user, but the only search index that this method allows is "All Titles". You can search for a title, and you can use the hamburger menu button to open up other options like MMS ID, ISBN, etc., but even this and the further embedded Advanced search only uses "All Titles". This means that you can't scan an item's barcode and put a request on that item using the "Physical Titles"…

  9. Add feature to Bookings to allow for set up time between checkouts

    When a user makes a booking in Alma there is no allowance for set up for the item after it is returned and before it is checked out again. This lack of time for set up may not be an issue for things like books, but if the item is a laptop that needs to be reimaged before it goes out to the next user then this can be a problem.   10. Consider only the opening days and hours when calculating the transit time

    The Transit Time Rule for Physical Item Requests calculates the transit time in calendar days.
    As a result, days and times when the library is closed are also indicated as estimated delivery times for the requested media.
    These times are also displayed in Primo and thus give users incorrect information.
    Would it be possible to consider only the opening days and hours of the libraries when calculating the transit time?

  11. Request cancel: Can we make the reason drop down options configurable?

    Some of the options for canceling a request do not apply to our institution, so I would like to put the most likely options at the top of the drop down menu.

  12. Is it possible to implement a timestamp when "Pick up from shelf" items have already been printed but not yet been processed?

    If a timestamp could appear, including the date/time that slips were printed for "Pick up from shelf" items, it would be known slips have already been generated and items are in process of being fulfilled. Sometimes staff have to attend to other matters before actually processing these items, but already have print slips in hand.

    This would be a lot more sustainable then the alternative: the same Pick slips being printed several times since it appears that these tasks haven't been tended to.

  13. Allow booking requests only on the quarter hour and half hour

    If your booking resolution policies are set to "Minute", users can select any minute in the hour as a start and end time. We would like a configuration option that allows us to limit booking request start and end times to just the quarter hour and half hour.

  14. Force article request form for ebooks

    When patrons place a resource sharing request on eBooks, we would like the article request form to appear. Currently the request form type by genre cannot accomodate this for eBooks because both eBooks and print books share the genre type book. If Ex Libris could assign eBooks a different genre type, we could easily force the correct form. However, any way to accomplish the same thing would be great! Don't care how it happens.

  15. Add Location facet to Active Hold Shelf and Expired Hold Shelf screens

    We would like to filter the items listed on the Active Hold Shelf and Expired Hold Shelf screens to show either patron physical item requests or inter-library loans, but that isn't possible at the moment. We use Location to tell the difference between our items and those borrowed from other institutions.

    On the Active Hold Shelf screen, there are no facets at all currently. We would like a Location facet to be added please so that staff who are auditing our requests shelves or inter-library loans shelves would be able to view only the relevant items.

  16. When a hold expires, have them display in the task list

    In the same way that requests show in the task list, it would be helpful that when the hold is expired that it will also show in the task list. People would see on their desktop if an item needs to be shelved or returned to a campus library, instead of remember to check the Expire Hold shelf.

  17. Default digitisation department for digital request types

    Ability to set a default digitization department for each digitization request type.

    Currently in Leganto, you can set a default digitization department for readings digitization requests. What we would like to do is to set a default digitization department for the patron digitization requests, and staff digitization request types within fulfillment.

    This is because when the patron request type is created within Primo, no managing department is set - unlike those same request types when lodged within Alma, where the managing department can be set.

  18. View pick-up location in Requests tab of Manage Patron Services

    It would be helpful if pick-up location was displayed on the Requests tab under Manage Patron Services. Currently, in order to view pick-up location when helping users at the desk, staff need to click '...' and 'Edit' in order to view that part of the request.

    Attached is a photo of the current interface where staff would like to see pick-up location as an optional column display.

  19. Enable requests of multiple items of the same BIB-record

    In Alma, it is generally not possible to request multiple copies of the same record. This possibility only exists if items are differentiated by the item description.

    When it comes to special collections, patrons regularly want to compare multiple copies, which may differ. Such differences have generally not been recorded (hence no item description), which is exactly why people want to compare them. For collections in closed stacks, requesting from the catalog is the only way to obtain an item. However, we can currently not offer the option of requesting more than one copy to our patrons.
