  2. Use user data in general electronic services

    Currently in a general electronic service we can pass bibliographic metadata via openurl format through to the target webpage. It would be useful to also pass through user data. The "Adding a General Electronic Service" section in the Online Help mentions a requester (req.) category of attributes but these don't seem to be used at the moment.

    Passing through the requester's name, email address, etc would allow us to auto-populate an external form (eg interloans, purchase suggestion forms, etc) and save the user time / potential typing errors.

  3. Create an "Ideas Meta" category for ideas on the tool itself

    As an ExLibris customer, I would like a channel were I can submit my ideas on how the Idea Exchange tool could be improved, so that the tool can evolve for maximum benefit for both ExLibris and customers.

    See Meta Stack Overflow as an example.

    Currently I don't know an obvious place where I could submit this idea, which is why it ended up in Alma - Other ... The idea about a meta category thus exemplifies the need expressed in the idea itself. How meta is that? ;-)

  4. Enable institutions to set a maximum daily API call limit per application

    As customers to the Alma and Primo APIs we are bound by the limits of our maximum number of calls per day. Some of our applications make up the majority of our API calls, for example, those from our student portal which call on Alma every time a student logs in.

    To help us avoid hitting our daily API limit it would be useful for us to be able to set our own maximum call limit per application. So for example, we could set the limit for calls from the staff portal to a lower figure than of the student…

  5. Identification of Reply vs Response in Communication tab of POL

    It would be useful to be able to easily identify a Reply vs a Response when looking at all of the 'Answers' associated with a Communication in a POL. Perhaps an arrow could indicate which direction the communication occurred ? e.g. an arrow pointing to the left ('out') if it is a Reply from us to the vendor, or an arrow pointing to the right ('in') if it is a Response from the vendor. See attached for screenshots.

  6. Trials - table & report for Purchase Decision field

    For the Purchase Decision field in a Trial we would like to have -
    1/ Ability to add new Purchase Decisions via a table similar to other areas of Alma. At the moment only options are Yes or No
    2/ Be able to run a report (or filter) on this field so we can take to collection development meetings if Purchase Decision was, for example, Future Purchase

  7. Index 049 field.

    We tie the OCLC holding library in the 049 closely to our Alma holding locations. Searching the text in the 049 field as keyword is quicker than an advanced search. If the idea below to allow free text searching of all MARC fields and subfields is implemented it would cover this request.

  8. Add "Reading List description" field to Course Reserves and Leganto Instructor Usage/Leganto Student Usage Subject Areas

    It would make sense to add the Reading List Description field to Analytics as it is information which is available but missing from the Course Reserves Subject Area, and the Leganto Subject Areas which contain Reading list information. Without this information you cannot really reproduce a list from its constituent data.
    NB this is really a Leganto issue as much as anything, but the impact is felt in Analytics.

    The Acquisitions tab does not have an indication that there is information on it (dog-eared) like the other tabs. Could this be updated so that this tab accurately reflects when there is additional information on it like the other tabs?

  11. Open second search box when "Advanced" is selected from persistent search

    The default persistent search box in Alma is one line. For a more complex search, I click on "Advanced". I then (always) have to click on the plus sign to get a second row for additional critieria. I would like for the system to automatically open that second search box when "Advanced" is chosen. Thank you.

  12. When building index tables, include data from all bib records (even if no holdings) and from all holdings records (even if no items).

    Currently, most holdings fields are not included in the indexing for the physical items table if there is no item attached. I believe the same is true for some bibliographic fields if there is no item and/or no holding.

    The resolution to the previous suggestion "Need a way to retrieve HOLDINGS where there are no ITEMS associated with the holding" addressed that one, very specific symptom of the larger problem.

    Now that we can FIND the holdings without items attached, we'd like to also search for and report on other information about them.

  13. Configuration option to default brief citation placement to either Network or Institution

    Currently when creating a brief citation for course reserves, the default option is to place the citation in the network zone. It would be better if the default placement was configurable. It's easy to overlook this option and we never want to put our brief citations in the network zone, but end up doing so inadvertently many times.

  14. PO Line import report: create itemized set

    After loading bibs and orders, the report allow me to create an Itemized set of what I just loaded. I would like to use this to review POL, but under Report-PO Lines, it only creates an itemized set of Titles.

    In other words: Import profiles--[...on a profile]--History--[...on a job]--Report. Scroll down to PO Lines--[...on total PO Lines Imported. *needs an option to create an Itemized POL set.

  15. Allow batch deletion of POLs

    After we set up our Alma Ebook Central integration, thousands of technical PO lines were created for our triggered DDA requests. We already had POLs for these titles, so we want to delete the duplicate POLs. Currently, they have to be deleted manually. Please create a job that allows you to delete POLs in batch.

  17. Allow a default setting for "Assign Inventory Manually".

    When several orders for items with existing holdings are being created it would be helpful to be able to have "Assign inventory manually" automatically checked.
    This most often occurs with serials when new orders are being created because of a vendor change. We close the old PO in order to preserve the history and create a new one with the new vendor.

  18. Acquisition Renewals for NZ e-collections

    We would like the ability to renew a shared e-collection.
    The new FY year price would be displayed in the negotiated license and then a renew button would be available. the library would see the new FY cost and then renew or cancel that subscription.
    Then this renewal or cancel would notify the NZ administrator.
    (similar to the functionality in ConsortiaManager).

  19. Use non-LC call numbers for journal categories

    This affects Primo/PrimoVE; but the job is in Alma.

    The new feature (as of Nov 2019) to browse a list of journals by category depends on the 050$a. This should be expanded to use the 055$a, 060$a, 070$a, 080$a, 082$a, 083$a, 084$a, 085$a, and 086$a. Additionally, libraries should be able to pick which of the subfields to use.

    This is an example of the lack of support for non-LC libraries.

  20. Batch file download function to local PC (Alma-Digital)

    Please provide Select all and download them to local PC function on Digital Title > Representations > Files List. Also a file export job for a set of digital titles is needed. (FYI, Rosetta has the latter function.)
