  1. Analytics : "Inventory Price" and subtotal

Currently, in Analytics, it is impossible to subtotal the "Inventory Price" column.
The answer from Ex Libris: the "Inventory Price" field is a "Text" field; it is therefore impossible to have a sum of the field in text format (in the Oracle sense).
Idea: to be able to calculate a subtotal for the "Inventory Price" field in Analytics.

  2. Analytics - increase maximum Excel export file size

Excel export from an analysis currently maxes out at 65002 rows, maybe because it's exporting in an early Excel format. Can this be changed to allow the current maximum of 1,048,576 rows?

(I know that .csv export allows more rows.)

  3. Track data on what in a record was modified, and add that data to analytics.

We run a couple reports that look at when a record was last modified. But there are many reasons why a record might be marked as "modified". It would be great if we could create filters on what in the record was modified, such as item status, location change, barcode change, note added, etc. This could allow for things such as running reports on what items had their fulfillment note last modified after "X" date.

  4. Map Electronic Collection Creator subject area to actual data in repository record

We really need a way to identify databases that our campus wants to count in our annual Collection statistics. Using the analytic electronic collection subject area "Creator" would accomplish this if it were mapped to data in the repository Electronic Collection record Creator field. Instead it is mapped to a list of current values in Alma such as operators or source of migrated records. This is not helpful at all - ExLibris needs to map this analytic subject area to data in the corresponding repository field

  5. Show Course Reserve Loans by Instructor

Currently I can get loan data about items on course reserve, and I can sort those items by the active course code that they are currently associated with. However, if I add the instructor field to my analysis (pulling data from both the Course Reserve pillar of analytic, AND the physical Inventory or Fulfillment pillar), I am no longer able to get loan data. Can you make these two pillars talk to one another so that we can get data on how often books associated with a particular instructor on course reserve have circulated?

  6. Analytics - Excel Export - Column Widths

Analytics has a few places to adjust column width, but none of them export to Excel. As a result, every Excel export includes a few columns that are extremely wide (as wide as my monitor) and extremely narrow (virtually hidden). The widths have nothing to do with column/cell content, so text wrapping doesn't fix the issue.

I've confirmed with Salesforce that there isn't a way to set widths for Excel export. Other font/colour/style settings export properly to Excel; it's amazing to me that column widths don't. I'd like to avoid formatting every Excel export before it's usable.

  7. Add "physical items" to Course Reserves Subject area

Since all course reserves circulation times are location-based we NEED to be able to select temporary location when creating a course reserves analytics set. It does me no good to get a list of all items on reserve and the associated courses if I can't report out WHAT the circulation times were. It would also be helpful to be able to measure loans from the Course Reserves Subject Area, since the Fulfilment Subject Area won't allow you to put the associated professor. It makes it impossible to get a comprehensive Course Reserves Analytics report that is of any use. It…

  8. Add 385,386,655 fields to Analytics Bibliographic Details dimension

Please add these fields to Analytics Bibliographic Details dimension: Creator/contributor term (386/a), Audience (385/a), and Genre/form (655/a,2). These fields are very important to include when creating reports.

  9. SUMIF function for Alma Analytics

There is currently no way to do a SUMIF function within Alma Analytics. In Excel, a formula like =SUMIF(A:A, A2, B:B) will perform the following operation: it will look for duplicates in the first column and if present, sum the numbers in the second column and output them in the third column. This is particularly helpful when trying to determine something like the total number of serial volumes per library (or some similar metric) without using the subtotal function. The subtotal function creates an additional row at the end of each unique set of instances instead of putting this data…

  10. Add Override Field Options in Analytics

It would be very helpful if there were option fields in Analytics for Electronic Collection Level URL Override and Parser Parameters Override so I can create a report to show what Electronic Collections & Parser Parameters contain the override fields.

  11. Add 'Replacement Cost' field to Physical Items table in Requests subject area

It would be helpful to have replacement costs field available in the physical items table from within the Requests subject area. Would allow for easier reporting on values of missing and lost stock etc.

  12. Change priority of extracting 050 / 090 for ETL into Analytics LC Call number (Bib)

Currently, the ETL for a bib screen appears to overwrite the LC Classification Number (bibliographic record) with each 050 or 090 it reads. It is typical for the most 'authoritative' LC call number to be first on the record, while least authoritative (or even false) LC call numbers are last.

Consequently, when a bib record has more than one 050 or 090, Analytics is opting to report out the LEAST reliable call number for data.

Preferred would be that the ETL take only the first 050 in a record.

  13. Analytics: physical items historical events subject area should include normalized call number

The physical items historical events subject area in Analytics should index the normalized call number data so that we can sort any data retrieved by shelving call number.

  15. Add catalogation date field

Actually we have only a Title modification date. This is used for catalogation date (after acquisition) and any other subsequent modifcation. If any modification we lose and miss the original catalogation date. We need a "Title catalogation date" field to preserve the original catalogation date after Receiving date.

  16. Ex Libris to create Custom Labels in Alma Analytics reports for Platform Prompts and Analyses

For Usage reports, it's not always clear which publishers are associated with certain Platform names. For SUSHI harvested data, please consider applying Custom Labels to report Analyses and Prompts.

This would be especially useful for American vendor platforms (lots of them have the acronym APS), Oxford platform, Ovid platform, Springer Nature platforms, and SAGE e.g.

aip = American Institution of Physics (AIP)
APS = American Physical Society (APS)
APS Journals = American Phytopathological Society (APS)

Ovid has a multitude of platforms. Would like a custom label applied to these so they display as one platform e.g. OCE, OvidSP, Ovid Insights,…

  17. Adding 'Normalized Item Call Number' field to analytics, similar to existing 'Normalized call number' field

We would like to have 'Normalized Item Call Number', derived from 'Item Call Number', in analytics. This field is similar to 'Normalised Call Number' derived from holdings 'Call number'

  18. Choose start month in Alma Analytics schedule

Alma Analytics has been improved by a lot in ways of scheduling reports. But I am still missing a way to choose a start month when scheduling a quarterly or bimonthly report.

You can choose a recurrence pattern (eg. monthly, recur every nth month), but there is no way to choose a month for the next run. Each change in recipients or touching the analytics object may start a new interval.

When choosing a weekly interval, you can also choose a weekday. An option for choosing a month should be added for monthly schedules.

  19. KPIs needed for Resource Management

In addition to measuring the time between creating a POL and receiving the material, we need an accurate way to measure the time between receipt and cataloging, and the time between cataloging and initial shelving.

  20. Programatically check latest ETL timestamp when running reports via API

We would like to programatically check the last ETL timestamp when running reports via API in order to know that fresh data is available. We would like to build in logic where we check again at intervals and not run the report until the ETL timestamp has updated. As things stand we risk reporting on old data when the ETL has taken longer than normal. The report concerned is accessed nightly via API and feeds into another system (a university reporting dashboard).
