  1. Generate Feedback Message with Link to E-Resource Activation Task

    When creating an e-activation task for an electronic inventory item directly from the portfolio or collection, the feedback message contains only an informational message that the task was completed but does not contain a link to the task on the E-Resource Activation Task List. We would like to see a feedback message that would include a direct link to the task so that the user can then handle the task (for example, assign the task to themselves or to others.)

  2. Finished claiming job does not give the library the option to check which vendors received a claim letter

    When a claiming job is finished running in Alma you can view “events” from the finished job. This gives a line for each claim processed in the job, and lists three different identifiers: JOBID, POLINEID and VENDORID. None of these identifiers are searchable for the library, and the library then have no option to control what letters were sent in that specific job.   3. Trial : request of a Trial viewer role

    There are 3 roles about Trials : administrator, operator and participant.
    But none gives access to the Trials and all information with only option to view (and not delete neither modify datas).
    A license viewer role exists in ALMA ; we request a similar Trial viewer role.

  4. Receive on order

    The only way to receive an item on order is to go into the Receive function within Acquisitions and this requires that you have a known POL or browse through the list but that is not a viable option for the amount of orders we have open. The bulk of our materials come on approval so the POL is created in the load process and therefore not noted on the invoice and unknown. In order to receive, staff first search Alma for the correct order record and write down the POL. Then they have to go into Receive and search…

  5. Separate amount and its currency into two columns when exporting to excel

    In the pages of Funds and Ledgers, we would propose to separate amount and its currency into two columns when exporting the file, which would be easy to perform calculations in excel.

  6. Ability to remove Associated PO Lines from a POL

    If we add a POL # to the Additional section of a POL > Associated PO Lines and then discover that it was incorrect we are not able to remove it. We can change it but not remove it.

    We would like to be able to remove the Associated PO Lines if we find that we have made a mistake

  7. Item's inventory price

    a) Instead of clicking Allocate every time to assign the item’s inventory price from the PO line, the process should be automated as was the case in Aleph.

    b) The final price from the PO line should be converted to our local (and default) currency automatically and written to the item’s inventory price field.

    c) When an invoice is paid in Alma, the item's inventory price should be updated automatically with the final amount in our local (and default) currency.

    All of the above is required for reporting to our financial department and library management.

  8. Set temporary location to yes in import profile

    We can add temporary location information to inventory records in an import profile, but we would also like to be able to set our temporary location indicator to "yes."

  9. Un-receive option for items not in-department with interested users.

    Current un-receive functionality is restricted to items which are still in department and having no interested users. It would be very helpful to have un-receive available without these two conditions attached.

  10. EDI check in for print journals

    Alma documentation states that Alma supports the following Edifact message types – INVOIC, ORDERS, OSTENQ, ORDRSP, ORDCHG. However our old LMS Aleph supported an additional Edifact message type called DESADV.

    This allowed our serials agent, Ebsco, to check in our journals in on the LMS remotely via EDI once our monthly consolidated deliveries of print journals were despatched from the warehouse.

    Provided our prediction patterns matched the PIA line this worked efficiently. An example of EDI text is as below:-

  11. Purchase Requests: Create 'Archived' Tab?

    Purpose: Purchase Request Management. To retain complete request history, whether approved/ordered or rejected, in a group separate from new, not-yet-assigned requests.

    Controls needed: 'Archive' operation added to the Row Action Menu. Full ability to move archived requests out of the archived condition and back into the 'unassigned' state and condition, or to delete.

    Currently we are unable to re-link invoices from old orders over to new orders, it would be most helpful if Alma was capable of doing this.

  13. Allow harvesting of reports with the non-standard SN:Total_Chapter_Request metric

    I noticed that some vendors - Taylor and Francis and Springer- are adding this non-standard metric - SN:TotalChapterRequest - to their TR Master Reports. These are 2 big vendors, and these TR master reports won't load into Alma with this nonstandard metric in them.. I was hoping there is a way to accommodate them and allow them to load.

  14. Improve performance of Usage areas in Alma

    The Usage sections of Alma are extremely slow. Please improve the overall performance of the Usage Data Loader, and especially the Missing Data Tab (which can take multiple minutes to load). Also, create a Usage search option in the general Alma search for such things as:
    File Name
    Vendor
    Sushi Account
    Upload Date
    Uploading user
    Subscriber
    Status
    Report type
    Data Start Date
    Data End Date
    Vendor URL

    We don't always want to use Analytics to find the answer to a simple question.

  15. Create a set option in Alma for Acquisitions and Resources imports for imported files larger than 50 records

    In Alma Acquisitions, we import bibliographic records from vendors such as OCLC in batch. It would aid efficiency if the option existed for the imported records to be immediately available in a set for further processing. As of February 2018, this can only be done on imports of 50 or fewer records, using the Monitor and View Imports, Report, Preview Records functionality, which creates an "or" query in Alma that can be saved as a set for further manipulation or export. A similar process (though slightly different) exists for Resources.

  16. Trials : when a participant reopens a survey form, the replys already submitted should display

    At the moment, when a participant reopens a survey form he already submitted, all the answers are empty.
    If he fills in again the survey form, at the end, when submitting his answers the second time, a warning message displays (do you want to submit again ?)
    We consider that this warning is too late in the workflow.

    So our request is : when a trial participant has filled in a survey form, if he reopens the same survey form later, this one should display the answers already submitted.

  17. Eliminate the confirmation step when editing item records.

    The process of receiving journal items is unnecessarily slowed down by having to confirm every single edit. Clicking on "Save" should be enough to get the job done. Breaking out Receive as a separate step has already added a step to the process. Please consider any and all ways of reducing the amount of time spent looking at blue spinning circles. Thank you.

  18. Ability to aggregate claims to one vendor should be made available for Legal deposit

    For the acquisition method “Purchase” the letter “PO line claim letter” is used, for the acquisition method “Legal deposit” and “Legal deposit - without letter” the “Legal deposit claim letter” is used. For the “Purchase” acquisition method an additional claim letter is available “PO Line Aggregated Claim Letter”, which in the event of there being more than one claim to the same vendor aggregates these into one letter.   19. Add "Move to department" option for Acq departments

    We would like a new option called "Move to Department" in the Receiving workbench AND in the Scan in Items form. The new option would have the effect of marking the existing Acq process as Done, and putting the item(s) in transit to the next department. Currently, if a workflow involves moving something from the Acq department to another department, such as a central End Processing unit that handles multiple libraries, the receiving staff have to perform multiple time-consuming steps.   20. Change Financial Year dates after they have been set

    It doesn't look as if it is possible to change the start and finish dates of any financial year in Acquisitions Configuration > Fund And Ledger Fiscal Period table mapping tables once the year has been created, unless it is deleted completely.

    Can it be made possible for the start and (in particular) the end dates to be edited having already been set and saved, if so required?

    Being able to do this would be of particular benefit around the time of a financial year rollover, especially if an institution cannot be certain that all financial transactions for the outgoing…
