  1. Improve performance of Usage areas in Alma

    The Usage sections of Alma are extremely slow. Please improve the overall performance of the Usage Data Loader, and especially the Missing Data Tab (which can take multiple minutes to load). Also, create a Usage search option in the general Alma search for such things as:
    File Name
    Vendor
    Sushi Account
    Upload Date
    Uploading user
    Subscriber
    Status
    Report type
    Data Start Date
    Data End Date
    Vendor URL

    We don't always want to use Analytics to find the answer to a simple question.

  2. Allow harvesting of reports with the non-standard SN:Total_Chapter_Request metric

    I noticed that some vendors - Taylor and Francis and Springer- are adding this non-standard metric - SN:TotalChapterRequest - to their TR Master Reports. These are 2 big vendors, and these TR master reports won't load into Alma with this nonstandard metric in them.. I was hoping there is a way to accommodate them and allow them to load.

  3. Add an ability to change the "owning library" at acquisitions level

    Organizational mergers or splits of libraries can occur at any time, necessitating the management of changes in the library landscape even after the migration process.

    They involve the transfer of collections and data between libraries. While Alma supports the transfers of holding and item information between libraries, there are currently (as of Dec‘24) technical limitations when it comes to moving acquisitions data. This functionality is not yet supported by Alma.

    We therefore propose implementing a solution that facilitates the seamless transfer of purchase orders, invoices, as well as linked vendor data and budget transactions between (owning) libraries within Alma. There…

  4. Eliminate the confirmation step when editing item records.

    The process of receiving journal items is unnecessarily slowed down by having to confirm every single edit. Clicking on "Save" should be enough to get the job done. Breaking out Receive as a separate step has already added a step to the process. Please consider any and all ways of reducing the amount of time spent looking at blue spinning circles. Thank you.

  5. Trials : when a participant reopens a survey form, the replys already submitted should display

    At the moment, when a participant reopens a survey form he already submitted, all the answers are empty.
    If he fills in again the survey form, at the end, when submitting his answers the second time, a warning message displays (do you want to submit again ?)
    We consider that this warning is too late in the workflow.

    So our request is : when a trial participant has filled in a survey form, if he reopens the same survey form later, this one should display the answers already submitted.

  6. Add "Move to department" option for Acq departments

    We would like a new option called "Move to Department" in the Receiving workbench AND in the Scan in Items form. The new option would have the effect of marking the existing Acq process as Done, and putting the item(s) in transit to the next department. Currently, if a workflow involves moving something from the Acq department to another department, such as a central End Processing unit that handles multiple libraries, the receiving staff have to perform multiple time-consuming steps.   7. Change Financial Year dates after they have been set

    It doesn't look as if it is possible to change the start and finish dates of any financial year in Acquisitions Configuration > Fund And Ledger Fiscal Period table mapping tables once the year has been created, unless it is deleted completely.

    Can it be made possible for the start and (in particular) the end dates to be edited having already been set and saved, if so required?

    Being able to do this would be of particular benefit around the time of a financial year rollover, especially if an institution cannot be certain that all financial transactions for the outgoing…

  9. Add a SUSHI account column in the usage statistics missing data page

    Currently, a lot of publishers have chosen SilverChair as their platform, e.g. Duke University Press, Geological Society of America, American Medical Association, etc. Their COUNTER reports all have SilverChair as the platform. In the Alma Usage statistics Missing Data page, their harvesting are all together under SilverChair. One day, when one or more of the publishers have problem harvesting, we would not know just by looking at the Missing Data page, because other publishers may have harvested data under SilverChair.

  10. Add the ability to upload EDI files from FTP sites manually

    Currently, Alma will only allow you to manually upload an EDI invoice file from a local folder. If you map an FTP site shortcut to your desktop and attempt to manually upload the EDI invoice file from that location, it will say there is an error. I have confimed that Alma does not currently support manual EDI invoice file uploading from ftp sites, only when you configure it to run automatically.

    Import profiles support both processes, so it seems like this area of Alma should support both manual and automatic uploads from FTP sites as well.

  11. Automatically Associate Certain Payment Methods (e.g., Credit, JV, Deposit) with Prepaid Functionality when Creating Invoices

    We would like the ability to automatically associate certain Payment Methods (Credit Card, JV (Correction), Deposit Account, etc.) with Prepaid functionality when creating Invoices. 1) This would save time. 2) Most institutions do not want certain payment methods going to their ERP, but occasionally forget to check the Prepaid box. Setting this up systematically would serve as a fail-safe for such situations.

  12. Option to configure interested user notification for ebooks to be sent when activation task changed to Done rather than when Activated

    We would like the ability to configure when our interested user notifications are sent for ebooks. We would like the option to send these when the activation task is changed to Done in the Electronic Resource Activation Task List instead of when the ebooks are activated. This would give us the opportunity to check the ebook portfolio links and bibliographic records for our Rialto purchased ebooks before the notifications are sent to the interested users.

    We really have the requirement to delete a POL attached to a PO in our daily work, we will have to reopen the POL and then cancel it and then delete it, it’s kind of complicated and can we delete it directly?

  14. Allow institutions to configure their own Packaged PO approval rules

    Could we please be provided with an option to disable or configure the auto approval rules of POs containing non 'Purchase/Purchase no Letter' POLs.

  15. Add a translation field to custom License Terms

    Under Alma Configuration > Acquisitions > Manage License Terms, it is possible to add library-defined license terms. However, contrary to the "out of the box" license terms, which is provided with a translation in all supported languages, it is not possible for the library to add a translation. This is not an issue with Primo, since a label table can be used, but it affects the Alma UI, where custom terms cannot be displayed in the UI's language, and API responses, which are language sensitive for OTB license terms but cannot display a translation for custom terms.

    We have licenses that will expire in X number of years. It would be good to have an option for Alma to send out reminders/notifications (e.g. email) for licenses that are due to expire

  17. Allow public display of the AcqWorkOrder type to be customized

    Currently, when items are in processing under the AcqWorkOrder type, the public display reads, "Acquisition technical services," and cannot be changed. I would like the ability to customize this label as we can with other work orders.

  18. Job to build relationships between host item and component parts to be run 3 times daily

    The Monograph in Series team is experiencing delays in checking that host items and component parts have successfully linked. The Job using the 773 field (Host Item Entry) and related record : 'MMS - Build Record Relations' currently only runs once a day at 22:00. We suggest this Job should be run 3 times per day to facilitate more speedy checking and prevent delays in the workflow.

  19. Need job to force POLs out of Claims status

    Over the years, many items of all resource types have fallen into Claims for one reason or another. For the purposes of cleaning up records, Alma should have a job that enables Acquisitions managers to force POLs out of Claim status, even for closed fiscal periods or POLs that are closed. The inability to move an item out of Claim due to it not following the strict receiving process is very inconvenient and makes the Claims function almost useless when its so cluttered.

  20. Claiming at Item Level

    Being able to claim at item-level so that we can mark an expected issue at CLAIMED/CLAIM so that magazines, journals, newspapers, and serial publication books would be easier to claim.
