Add a dedicated privilege to control the appearance of the "Change Vendor in Order" functionality.
This idea was submitted on behalf of the Product management team as we would like to understand the need and use cases of the need described below- any comment is welcome.
Currently, accessing the "Change Vendor in Order" process / job is linked to the privilege: BASICPOPOLINEMNG
This privilege is assigned for the following two roles
Purchasing Operator
Purchasing Manager
Considerations
The suggested idea is to create a new privilege: CHANGEVENDORJOB (or similar), which controls the access to the Change Vendor in Order process / job.
The privilege should be reserved for the following three roles:
• Purchasing Operator (default on /off -> to be considered)
• Purchasing Manager (default on)
• Acquisition Administrator (default on)
This allows each library to control whether simple purchasing staff should also be able to access the process/job.
It should also be considered that the new privilege only covers accessing the change vendor job and not the two functions which can be called from the purchase order line details screen and can be executed for individual PO lines. The 2 actions on the PO line are:
• Replace (only) vendor, and
• Change vendor,

Hi Noam,
thanks for posting our request for a new privilege for the Change Vendor job, which has undergone some changes as part of the December 2020 release :
* Change the vendor name on the order AND
* send the order to the new vendor AND
* send cancellation letter to the old vendor (if needed )(see https://knowledge.exlibrisgroup.com/Alma/Release_Notes/2020/Alma_2020_Release_Notes?mon=202012BASE)
We also believe (in general) that the job is a very powerful tool that should not necessarily be available to the "normal" purchase operator. For them, the functionalities in the single PO line would still be available.
At this point, we have a particular focus on large dual-layer libraries with more than 100 Alma Libraries in an IZ and a correspondingly large number of staff members, whose roles we want to/must define in a more differentiated way.
Thanks
