Date of location change in Analytics
Analytics should allow users to run reports on the date of an Item's location change -- e.g. how many items were moved from Library A to Library B during a certain time period. This information is visible in the Item history tab; it should be made available for management reports especially now as libraries are engaged in consolidation, off-site storage, and shared print projects.
Dear Colleagues,
The idea, as presented, is now supported.
Please see my comment in the Idea Exchange for more information.
Warm Regards,
Shoshana

We are currently transferring items to a remote storage facility. The process we are using involves changing the item location from within the item record. We do not put items into transit. Unfortunately, Shoshana's solution doesn't work in our case.

I'm commenting to second Holly Tomren's response.
Working in a remote storage facility, we certainly don't want departmental library staff transferring items to our locations willy nilly. Our cataloging staff make certain that each record meets the standards for remote storage (because people can't check the shelf to determine whether or not a book is what they want). Only then do we edit the location. Shoshana's suggestion cannot work in our use case.

Dear Shoshana,
The example you shared shows items that were in transit from one location to another. However, it is possible to do a physical location change in Alma without putting items into transit status. I tried a report based on your example from our library move and it did not reflect the hundreds of thousands of items for which we changed the physical location but did not put items into transit. I would suggest that the functionality suggested by the original poster (physical location change history) is still needed in Analytics.

Hi,
it is possible to create various reports for management from the Physical Items Historical Events subject area.
For example, a count of items moved from Library A to Library B during a certain period can be seen in the attached file. All the best,
Shoshana
