Post-migration portfolio urls remain even if changed afterwards
Post-migration side effect with created portfolios: the url from the bib is created in the new portfolio. This url remains in the portfolio even after it has been changed at a later date (not in an editable field; the url is also searchable even after it has been changed. So, old urls from a migrated system remain searchable and in the portfolio record even after editing. Change this behavior.

I have just finished a project which I have to search for our ezproxy prepended to the urls and deleted them. The portfolio search ability only search old urls, and not the current static corrected urls, so I got hundreds of portfolios seemingly that I have to fix. It turned out that the current static urls do not have ezproxy prepend to them, only the old urls have, and you can't edit the old urls. The search index only search the first old urls, but not the current urls. This is a defect in the search capability. Who wants to find old urls when there are current urls. Change this behavior.

Why can't we edit the portfolio "URL" field? We can edit the "Static URL" field. I'd love to revise outdated or erroneous URLs, and as Ms. Bearden wrote, not have them retrieved when I'm trying to search current URLs.

We have encountered this issue as well. The workaround solution is that you can export your portfolios using the extended export, wipe this non-editable field out and reimport the portfolios. However, the search index in Alma pulls from both the non-editable field (Parser parameters field) AND the Static URL field, so if you do not remove the parser parameter URLs via the process I just described, and you are trying to search in Alma for errors/updates needed in the URL field for a group of portfolios, the task is near impossible since you keep getting the outdated URL's results as well. Bottom line: each unique URL field should be separately indexed in Alma.
