New Analytics field for OCLC number in Bibliographic Details
Currently in Analytics the Bibliographic Details category contains Network Number. Network number indexes OCLC numbers as well as other identifiers from the Marc record. (Included Marc fields: 019 a,z 035 a,z 774 w 773 w 775 w 777 w 786 w 800 w 810 w
811 w 830 w)
Our institution needs to search specifically only OCLC numbers and would ask if Exlibris could create a new Analytics field for OCLC number. This field should only search the 035 $a and $z and only include 035 subfields with OCLC prefixes ((OCoLC), ocn, ocm,...)

As of January release the following fields containing the OCLC control number will be available in the Bibliographic Details folder for all subject areas in which it appears. The data for these fields comes from MARC fields 019 and 035.
OCLC Control Number (019)
OCLC Control Number (035a)
OCLC Control Number (035a+z)
OCLC Control Number (035z)

This is similar to the problem that was initially encountered when import profiles were only able to match on 035 without regard to prefix. And ExLibris later supplied a special "Unique OCLC Match Method" for importing. A large number of Alma customers need to be able to isolate and use OCLC control numbers in a number of areas. And Analytics is no exception! Diana Brooking, UWashington

Thank you for the great idea! Perhaps Ex Libris can even standardize the format of the OCLC numbers in the OCLC number column, for example, (OCoLC)1234, without ocm, ocn, etc., and without zero(s) preceding the numeric part of it.
