  1. Electronic collections - let notes tab show active for functional notes

    When viewing electronic collection/service/portfolio records, the note tab does not show active - a blue triangle in new UX - when content has been added to the functional notes - authentication and/or public. I understand that currently the content indicator "turns on" when content is added via the "Add Note" feature but it would help workflow if staff did not have to click the notes field to discover if authentication or public notes had been added to either collection, service or portfolio editor. Let the notes tab show active whether the notes are functional or internal.

  2. Only send Ful Item Change Due Date Letter for changes to due date

    We've run into a real problem with recalls. We can set some items to be recallable, and others to not be recallable. However, both categories get their status changed to "Recalled." Non-recallable items simply don't get a change to their due date. Despite this, patrons who have checked out non-recallable items still get the Change Due Date letter, with a notice that tells them their due date has not actually changed. This letter currently is triggered by recalls with due date changes, recalls without due date changes, other due date changes, or recall cancellations. We think this is too much…

  3. Limit in house use entry through Scan in Items

    Alma records In House use via "Scan in Items" module and whenever item that is not on loan checked in. I would like to see a setting that will allow "In House use" to be registered only by Scan in Items. There are numerous occasions where staff may check in items but it is necessarily "in house use" by patrons.

  4. Authority--Normalize periods in initialisms and acronyms by elimininating them, not replacing them with spaces

    Currently large numbers of headings with initialisms and acronyms appear as "ambiguous" on the Authority Control Task List. When viewed in "edit" the headings appear both with and without periods. There is, in fact, no ambiguity because both forms of the heading appear on the same authority record. One form is in the 1xx field and the other is in the 4xx field. Examples are: PBS Distribution (Firm), NASA technical memorandum and JPS anthology of Jewish thought.

  5. Make the Alma new UX search default saving settings optional

    The new UX's feature of retaining a user's past 10 searches seems to override browser or computer specific settings to remember more than the most recent 10 searches. Our acquisitions department tried to keep a running list of many of our more complex standing orders, which was a great time saver. This feature was especially useful for cases where transliteration can lead to variations in spelling -- Dostoevskii vs. Dostoevsky vs. Dostoyevsky.
    For this reason, we'd like to be able to shut the feature of remembering the most recent searches off, if we want to on an individual user basis.

  6. Mark resource sharing bib records

    When creating a borrowing request in Alma, Alma transforms the info in a brief bibliographic record. This is great for everything that has to do with Resource Sharing.

    BUT: Librarians who are cataloging find this bib record, don't think twice and just add a holding and an item. So the RS bib record has become a real bibliographic record, but without any one completing the info.

    We would like the resource sharing bib records to be marked somehow so that cataloguers can identify them easily and either complete them or import them from another source.

  7. Export suppression status

    When exporting a list of titles to Excel, it would be helpful if a title's suppressed status was exported along with the rest of the title's information. Currently, there is a visual indicator in Alma if a title is suppressed or not, but that doesn't seem to translate over when exported. Since we often work with large lists of titles and there's no way to sort itemized sets, we need to be able sort through them effectively in Excel.

  8. Send a notification when a POL marked as manual renewal is added to the task list

    When a PO line is marked as manual renewal and it subsequently appears in the renewals task list a notification should be sent to those with the appropriate role in Alma to advise.

  9. Order the toolbar

    For each user the order of "Manage patrons", "Return items", and "Scan in items" is in a different order. You should be able to arrange these so that it is the same for each user.

  10. View only electronic inventory role

    It would be great to have a role that could view all information related to electronic collections and portfolios but not edit them. This would be helpful for overlap analysis and viewing other details for individuals who should not be able to edit electronic inventory. One use case would be for network zone access for members of a consortium who access but do not maintain consortial resources.

  11. Ability to customize Discovery display labels for work orders down to the status level

    For Discovery display labels (labels in Primo), all work order types (fulfillment, bindery, and acquisitions) are controlled through the following two customizations:

    1) c.uresolver.getit2.itemlist.status.WORKORDERDEPARTMENT.

    expected_date In process of {0} until {1} (where 0=Work Order Type, and 1=Work Order Days to Process)

  14. Give us more lines in the holdings record so that 866's are generated, so that our inventory shows up in Primo.

    At present when holdings records become too big, Alma does not generate the 866's neither by saving nor by enhancement (even though Alma falsely claims a successful enhancement). Because of this, our actual holdings are not displayed in Primo. This is not okay. The inventory records do not show what we actually hold in cases of incomplete volumes that have been bound: thus the need for accurate holding records. Also the 866's are NOT being updated when changes/additions/deletions to the 863's, 864's, or 865's are made. Again this is not okay, and updating the 866's becomes a time consuming manual…

  15. It would be helpful to have small checkboxes in the holdings records next to each line item

    It would be helpful to be able to delete or move multiple line items in a holdings record at the same time as we are able to do in the inventory records. A line at a time is very time consuming when we transfer large numbers of items from one library to another.

  17. Link resolver should use ISSN and title from external resource

    When the link resolver receives a URL from an external resource, it should use the ISSN and the journal title from the incoming URL to create links for Interlibrary loans and ignore any related links if related links are activated (Fulfillment > Fulfillment Configuration > Configuration Menu > Discovery Interface Display Logic > Related Records). Currently, the link resolver will change the incoming ISSN and journal title to that of the related link when creating ILL requests, which makes the ILL article information incorrect.

  18. analytics Itemized sets

    Be able to run Alma Analytics on set of items listed in Itemized sets. I trying to run circulation statistics on set of books captured by Itemized sets but it doesn't look like there is a way to do so.

    In Resource Management, there are options for creating a physical item using a template that list the MARC fields as their type, not like the field numbers in Metadata Editor. Such as, Title is listed with a field to enter this information, and Author and so on for the Resource Information. As a cataloger, I know the MARC field numbers and can easily catalog in Metadata Editor, but this is not the case for the acquisition coworkers I collaborate with to order new materials.

  20. Include the same details in an Acquisitions Placed HOLD as for a Patron Request placed through the repository search

    Currently, we cannot use the checkbox to hold an item for an interested user in the PO Line to place an item on hold. This is because the information provided when this option is chosen is so much more minimal than what is seen if we put a request on the book from the repository search, that our Fulfillment department often does not expect the hold -- it does not show up when the scan the item in, and it does not indicate who it is for.
