  1. Receive on order

    The only way to receive an item on order is to go into the Receive function within Acquisitions and this requires that you have a known POL or browse through the list but that is not a viable option for the amount of orders we have open. The bulk of our materials come on approval so the POL is created in the load process and therefore not noted on the invoice and unknown. In order to receive, staff first search Alma for the correct order record and write down the POL. Then they have to go into Receive and search…

  2. Allow batch deletion of POLs

    After we set up our Alma Ebook Central integration, thousands of technical PO lines were created for our triggered DDA requests. We already had POLs for these titles, so we want to delete the duplicate POLs. Currently, they have to be deleted manually. Please create a job that allows you to delete POLs in batch.

  3. Track actions on items in transit

    Currently, when an item goes into transit, it only registers the scan into transit and the scan out of transit. However, sometimes, an item gets scanned at an intermediate location for a variety of reasons and this scan is not logged in the item history. This makes tracking items in transit more difficult and nearly impossible to find if they get held up at the intermediate location.

  4. Send overdue notifications only on library's open days

    Since we would prefer to avoid to send overdue and lost loan notifications to our patrons on Sundays and holidays, it would be great to have a further option for when to automatically run the “overdue and lost loan job”, that is, to run it only “on the library’s open days”, based on the opening hours set in the “Calendar management”.

  5. Configure issues to appear in chronological order rather than alphabetical order for recieving

    For titles (especially newspapers but some others) that don't have a volume number, ALMA lists them in alphabetical rather than chronological order when receiving new issues. This is highly inconvenient as well as illogical. It means clicking through page after page of issues for newspapers, which are predicted a year out. Surely there must be some way to arrange them chronologically? If not, then it would be helpful if ALMA could show more than twenty results per page.

  6. Please provide the way of knowing the real POL creator who creates POLs by using import profiles.

    When creating POLs by using import profiles, it doesn't possible to track who actually created the POLs. Instead, all the POLs created by import profiles have 'System' as POL creator. Please provide the way of knowing the real POL creator who creates POLs by using import profiles.

  7. Give institutions the ability to have local versions of user roles

    We have just gone live and I'm setting up accounts for our liaison librarians. I'd like to create a copy of the Purchase Request Operator role to use with liaisons. I'd like fewer permissions than the canned version but I can't have ExL edit the current one because other staff need the role as it is currently. I think we should be able to make a local version of a user role that can then be edited without changing the canned user role. That or just let us keep the Selector role so I can have that edited.

  8. Update/Notify Users

    External Notes and Statistics information is overwritten when synchronizing patrons Externally via the SIS system. Notes and Statistics information can be entered manually and set as “Internal” by running the Update/Notify Users job and selecting the option “Add/changed field = Internal”. However, you are limited by the information that can be added to each selection. In the “Notes” selection you can’t select nor add a Note Type. In the Statistic selection, there’s no option to select a Category Type or type a Note. (see examples)

  9. copy user account

    Please provide the ability to clone accounts.

    From time to time, a user will report that they can't do xyz with their account. It would be convenient to create a copy of the user's account (changing the name and primary ID) so that I can add and remove roles without disturbing a live account.

  10. PO Line import report: create itemized set

    After loading bibs and orders, the report allow me to create an Itemized set of what I just loaded. I would like to use this to review POL, but under Report-PO Lines, it only creates an itemized set of Titles.

    In other words: Import profiles--[...on a profile]--History--[...on a job]--Report. Scroll down to PO Lines--[...on total PO Lines Imported. *needs an option to create an Itemized POL set.

  11. Allow library configuration to block Temporary or Permanent Move requests

    University of Wisconsin Madison has a ‘Withdrawn’ library, where items are moved and suppressed, because they are deaccessioned (e.g, extra copies that are no longer needed) or lost and missing materials. We use this method for in-depth reporting for capital depreciation and other accounting measures. As these items technically don't physically exist, we would like to be able to block Temporary or Permanent Move requests (to Change the items location) on the ‘Withdrawn’ library.     Currently, Alma limits the borrowing activity letter to list only 100 loans.

  14. Enable different time formats for Alma interface and letters

    Currently, it's only possible to set one time format within Alma (Configuration Menu > General > General Configuration > Other Settings > systemtimeformat), which is used universally in the Alma interface (e.g. in patron records, in monitor jobs). A time format that's appropriate for use in the Alma interface isn't necessarily right for letters that are sent out to users. For example, we would like to set the time format for the Alma interface to 24 hour clock including seconds (H:mm:ss).     Please add an ics-formatted attachment to loan receipt an recall letters send by e-mail. So the patron can import the dates for returning the books into his calendar-app. The ics-File should contain:

  16. Proxy and sponsor display and sorting

    It would be helpful to be able to sort the sponsors for a proxy alphabetically in the "Proxy for" tab of the User Details page. Currently they only display in the order in which they were added. Some proxies work for multiple sponsors so being able to sort them and even search would be helpful. It would also be nice if the drop down window used during checkout could display alphabetically as well.

  17. Configuration option to default brief citation placement to either Network or Institution

    Currently when creating a brief citation for course reserves, the default option is to place the citation in the network zone. It would be better if the default placement was configurable. It's easy to overlook this option and we never want to put our brief citations in the network zone, but end up doing so inadvertently many times.

  18. Make Linking Levels in Service Record more general

    The Linking Level in the service record is a hierarchy clearly designed for journals. Books are thrown in as an afterthought, and there is no room for streaming media. The hierarchy would be improved by making it independent of media type. Change the linking levels in the following way:

    Change "Article" to "Article/Chapter"
    Change "Article DOI" to "Article/Chapter DOI"
    Change "Issue" to "Issue/Part"
    Leave "Volume" the same
    Combine "Journal" and "Book" into "Work (Journal/Book/Media)"
    Change "Database" to "Database/Collection"
    Leave "Citation" the same

    This would accommodate collections which contain streaming media, and collections which contain more than one format, such as…
