From 'view vendor' list in POL, add '+' capability to Add Vendor?
Right now one has to either search vendor before order entry, or gamble that the vendor is already in the database and just try entering the POL. But then, if the vendor is NOT in the database, one has to back all the way out, add the vendor, and then start over.
It would be great to have an 'add vendor record' link right there, with a 'back' button to finish the POL in progress, That would really minimize workflow interruptions during the POL entry process. Might others find this helpful? If you hate stopping, navving somewhere else in…

Add preferred pronouns field to contact people tab information in vendor
In the 'Contact people' tab of a vendor record, there is currently no option to add the preferred pronouns of an individual. There are preferred name and gender options but no where to record the pronouns they prefer.
vendor interface > Contact people > Add contact > Contact details.

Show vendor name first in dropdown list instead of vendor code
On the page of invoice details, in the vendor dropdown list, the vendor code is displayed which is quite uncomfortable as you have to remember the codes. We would like to see the vendor's name instead. Currently if you want to see the name, you have to open the menu.

merge vendor records
Most libraries have multiple records for the same vendor. This is often the result of migrated records from a previous system, but can also occur because of changes in library workflows or even the acquisition of one company by another.
Currently, the only option is to choose one vendor record going forward and stop using the other vendor records. However, this creates extra work for libraries, such as changing the vendor on purchase order lines and including multiple vendors when running reports on historical expenditures. The ability to merge vendor records would solve these difficulties.

Enable the ability to associate vendors
Similar to associating POLs, it could be useful if it were possible to associate/link vendors to each other. It would enable organizing individual vendors (mostly access providers) under broader vendors (billing agents, IP Registry, etc) and consortia.

Have searchable Notes fields in vendor records
It would be great if the data in the Notes tab of vendors records could be searchable - possibly as an Advanced Vendor search, or as part of a keyword search, or even within Analytics. Some data from Voyager's 'alternative vendor name' field has been migrated into the notes and it would be useful to be able to search on this.

Ability to remove/hide the "Liable for VAT" checkbox from all vendor records
Institutions that do not use VAT should be able to configure their vendor records so that the "Liable for VAT" checkbox does not appear.

Use Checkboxes or Upload to select SUSHI reports to harvest
Currently, to add SUSHI reports to harvest you have to select the report type one by one from a drop down. It would be far more efficient to use checkboxes to pick which reports to gather. Also, there is an option to Download the selected reports list, but no option to use an upload to specify the reports. An upload would be nice because most of the Journal platforms offer the same report types, so a single template file could be uploaded for most vendors.

Add filter to Vendor Invoices tab
I would like to be able to limit the invoices I see on the Invoice tab in the vendor records to a specific time frame or add a filter to have the ability to select the fiscal year of the invoices in the list.
This will allow me to only see truly historic invoices when and if I need to.23 votes -
Exclude certain usage reports from being reported in the SUSHI Weekly Reporting
1) Exclude 'Failed - Usage Not Ready for Requested Dates' usage reports from appearing in the SUSHI Weekly Report.

sending predefined claim letter manually
There should be a possibility to send the predefined claim letter manually.
If automatic claim notification is enabled (autoclaimco = Y) then the predefined letter (or EDI-notification) is prepared and sent automatically by the corresponding alma job. It should be possible to send the same letter by
- pressing a button in the order and
- by selecting items from the claims list and press a corresponding button
The claims sent should appear in the correspondence tab with the vendor.

Add option for filename filter to vendor EDI information
One of our vendors places their EDI information in the same pickup directory that they place their EOD MARC records.
The EOD import process allows a filter to download only MARC files. A similar filter in the EDI download process would prevent errors from being triggered because the EDI process is trying to read MARC files as EDI files.

We would like an option to search vendors by address/country.
We would like an option to search vendors by address/country since many of our vendors are from other countries.
Currently, we have no way of finding all the vendors from a certain country, if it is not part of their name.2 votes -
Add History to Vendor Records
Currently, there is no tab or area in the Vendor List in Alma to note Vendor Record history, as there is for items, orders and other areas. This would greatly help us investigate any problems, issues, or track changes, especially if we have multiple people with the Vendor Manager Role activated in order to manage the various EDI, contact information, and usage data tabs.

Replicate Voyager Alternate Vendor Search Names
The ExLibris Voyager product allows for alternate vendor search names.
These are extremely useful for several instances:
1) DBA - Bob Smith dba Susan Jones Book Services
Would like to search for both "Bob Smith" and "Susan Jones" in Vendors
2) Company name changes - Yankee Book Peddler -> YBP -> GOBI Solutions...
Especially helpful with a swath of generational employees who may refer to a vendor using a name that is 5, 10 or 20 years old
3) Abbreviations - Lib. of Congress vs. Library of Congress. Or... ARL vs. Association of Research Libraries. Or... ALA vs. American Library…1 vote -
Make "additional code" for vendors searchable
Using the additional code field to track changes in the Vendor Code field make sense, but has limited use if we can not search it in any meaningful way.

Contact Information in the vendors profile
Hello,
It would be very useful if in the Vendor contact information, the "Email Address" would appear as the first address.
Also it should be marked as a "must to fill" field with red asterisk (The problem now is that when one forgets to add email address, the orders cannot be send to the vendor).
Also, currently, if you add an email address instead of the surface address, the system does not provide any alerts and the order is not being sent.Thanks.

Vendors : simplify Contact information and People contact tabs
Hello,
Handle vendors in ALMA is pretty twisted and not user friendly !
We can understand the distinction between Vendor details (network level) and Vendor account details (institution level).
But why distinguish Contact information and People contact in two separate tabs ?
This makes us input twice same informations.Our request : to get one tab for all Contacts ; each contact would be distinguished by a specific frame with name, first name, job description, email, postal mail and phone nember. All display in one single screen.
